    Nice boots man. I bought a black pair of OSB trench boots about 4 years ago. They are part of my rotation so I don't wear them all the time, but I still like them a lot. I like buying American made goods, especially if they're of American materials like these mostly are. Plus I used to live near Chicago so I have a soft spot for OSB and Horween. I bought mine with the leather soles and couldn't stand it after a couple weeks so I mailed them to the family of the company owner in Chicago and the put Dainites on for me. Love them!
    The natural Chromexcel is great. They will develop that beloved patina. As they are in the video they are very, very light in color because they're dry. Anything you put on them will darken them. Horween uses neatsfoot oil as their last step on that leather so that's what I use on all of my Chomexcel. Anyway, I hope you enjoy them!
    Edit: I do have one piece of leather on mine which have the loose grain in the leather. Super annoying but I can't see it under my jeans so whatever. The creasing from the folds as you step is normal.
    Sizing is weirdly tricky with boots because of different last shapes. My "normal" size is 11 which is what my Indy Boots and Docs are, but my trench boots are 11.5 and my 1000 mile boots are 10.5.

      Hey man, thanks for sharing your experience with your OSB boots. It's weird that I was measured to be size 9 on the 1000 mile boots when I tried them, and with OSBs I wear size 9. Like I've said on the video, I tried size 9.5 with the OSBs and they looked big and wide on me.
      So neatsfoot oil would be fine with natural Chromexcel?

      @@grahamhere3790 The Trench Boots definitely have a wide base and look big. Horween's recommended product for Chromexcel is Venetian Shoe Cream (also made in Chicago). On natural color leather you would want to use neutral color cream. The difference between using neatsfoot and a shoe cream is that shoe cream has a little bit of wax in it as well as moisturizer. The wax will close the pores of the leather a little and create a bit of shine. The reason I use oil is because I don't like the shine on my boots - just personal preference. Both are good for preserving. Venetian is a good product though. I used black Venetian for years on my work shoes with success. My experience is that neatsfoot oil will make them a little darker than the Venetian, but both will definitely darken them, especially with the first application. Let me know how it goes and maybe do a video when you do it :)

      @@seth_5394 Thanks for the good information man. I will definitely check Venetian cream.

    I have these in natural with dainite soles and speed hooks and I love them. But every time I put them on the first 20 minutes or so I feel like I’m sliding around inside the boot. But then I think sweat or something locks my feet into place. Then they are super comfortable to wear walking around. They are in my rotation between my vibergs, 405’s, and my Truman moose boots. Nice review sir

      Thanks man!
      I also feel sometimes that my feet slide around inside these boots, sometimes I think that it might be because of the slippery leather insoles. But yeah, since they're super comfy out of the box, I tend to ignore it. I want to try Truman boots next time, but I'm not sure about sizing.

      @@grahamhere3790 my Truman and oak street both are same size and same size as my sneakers. I would go with your normal size and add an insert if it’s a touch to big. You will definitely like the quality of Truman. On par with Viberg and a step above most other brands

      My feet slide in the boot too! Also it seems like the toebox is very shallow. I have the storm boots from oakstreet and they feel better. I feel like i would need a 9.5 in the trench boots. I'm a 9 in brannock.

    Beautiful boots!
    Is that have gusseted tongue or standard tongue? You have any problems with this when you walking in the rain or wet terrain, water leaking in?

    • @grahamhere3790
      @grahamhere3790  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! They have standard tongue. Honestly, I haven't worn these in the rain. If you're planning to do that, you must at least put rubber outsoles like Dainite soles as mentioned in the video, as the water could damage the leather soles.

      @@grahamhere3790 Yup. Because is not gusseted, I'm wondering water will leaking in through laces, the place where I live often has sudden rains. I know it's not waterproof boots, but need it hold up just a moment before finding some shelter. I hate wet socks :D
