i dont think they should have removed the difference in draw time a heavier and more powerful bow taakes more effort to draw and is usually a lot slower, even for a stronger archer

For anyone looking to install this mod, I recommend Enhanced Camera instead of Immersive First Person. IFPV makes the bow move too much when aiming and when repositioning with a drawn arrow or strafing. This doesn't affect the in-game aim, but subconsciously it throws off your aim because the bow moves and kind of gets in the way of a 'clean' shot as with the Enhanced Camera. Also, Enhanced Camera is less demanding on your system and allows 360 degree panning without moving with your keys. Just for anyone wondering the difference.
One thing to note about AGO is that for now anyways the sneaking animations are glitchy when strafing, and there are a few minor bugs. Temporary solutions to the sneaking issue can be found in the comments on the mod page, however it looks like the author is working on it, and hopefully a revised version will be out soon.
I was really hoping it'd come with a "headshot" feature, been wanting an archery overhaul that did that since this game came out but that's still pretty comprehensive! This mod looks like another reason to get back into this game tho, good job
I definitely need to try out this mod. I'm a huge sucker for archery and the bow is by far my favorite weapon, but in vanilla skyrim you can't really do much with it and the gameplay and drawspeed is quite sloppy. I have several survival mods like hunterborn, campfire/Frostfall and iNeed installed which give a great addition to archery and the gameplay in general, but a serious archery overhaul is what I've been missing in this game. This mod seems perfect, and I think I'll also check out some of the other ones you mentioned. I only recently got the game and have about 20 hours of playtime, but I've been watching skyrim modding videos religiously for years now. Your channel is truly one of the best out there, along with Koubitz and Gopher, and your videos are always very informative and to the point while still being very enjoyable. Not to mention that you have a gorgeous voice that I could listen to all day. So, im short: Keep it up man!
after having it in for a few playthroughs, it's definitely staying. There's just the occasional hiccup where when you've got a bow drawn it doesn't recognize when you wanna sprint, jump, or sheathe the bow. It doesn't happen every time but it is often enough to be a mild issue. It goes away with some wasd spam in almost all cases, and those times it doesn't, equipping another weapon or unequipping the bow will.
I saw this earlier and thought it looked great. Might download and start a new game since I'm having conflict issues with armours at the moment anyway. Good excuse to try something new.
Bleeding may give even more advantage to archery versus melee, but at least it works in both directions... although I can use restoration spells and potions. Faster drawing is also questionable. But in general it's a good/fun mod.
Not sure i like the spell for enchanting arrows, but its not easy to make it perfect, but I do like the rings. Wouldn't mind seeing more enchantments, hopefully the creator adds them in the future. The animations are beautiful and I love the stab. 10/10
to brodual: thanks for all the reviews, you guys singlehandedly shaped my Skyrim game to the community: my first person animations for this game aren't working but work fine in third person. can anyone help?
Thought I'd stick this here. If anyone experiences any camera earthquakes, it's caused by a script interruption in this mod. To fix it you just shoot another arrow. :)
What I liked about the vanilla first person was that you could aim the bow without the reticle....with this mod, tho, it's impossible, since the arrow is nocked to the right side, not in front of you, as it was in Vanilla. I love the running animation, tho.
The bows having the same draw speeds is dumb. Stronger bows should take longer to draw. It's common sense. Your archery skill should lower the amount of time it takes to draw the string. Otherwise, it seems like a good mod.
No not really, if you have shot bows of many draw weights irl like me you would know that the difference between how fast you can possibly draw a light bow and a heavy bow (if you can properly use the latter at all) is very little. If you require a few seconds to fully draw a bow, that bow is too heavy for you to use, let alone aim anywhere close to accurate.
Could you please send me the steamlink of this mod, I do really love to try and check this one out but I can't find it in the workshop. If it is in the nexus, I don't have an account and I want to have this one legally (prefer steam)
There's a mod that basically changes the place of the quiver, instead of it being vertically on your back it puts it so it lays horizontally across your waist, which to me seems to be a much more practical place to equip the quiver.
modders beware: a feature of this mod (arm fatigue) will sometimes stack or even conflict with any combat overhaul that causes stamina loss on attack with bows or jumping resulting in a permanently low stamina state until the weapon is holstered.
Saying that it's "highly compatible" might be an overstatement made by the author. Looking over at what happens with Requiem (or other overhauls), I would NOT recommend this mod if you're using it. Because: 1: It makes all drawing speeds much faster. This both makes early-game archery far easier than it should be, and completely negates a perk later on that adds to player progression at later levels. That drawing speed perk is a big deal. With this mod, not only is it useless (since draw speed is really fast anyways) but you'll just need to waste a perk point if you want to move up the tree. 2: Light and heavy bows have identical draw speeds, now making light/heavy bows completely pointless. Requiem intended (if not poorly) to have an option, lighter, faster bows that did less damage, and slower, heavier bows with greater range and more damage. The idea was that it would lead to more variation, so you could play either more of a skirmisher at mid range, or a sniper and longer ranges. Again, Requiem didn't do this very well, but it's disappointing to see how it's now completely pointless. All heavy bows will have the same draw as light ones, making the lighter ones useless. Very similar issues crop up balancing + feature wise with the other overhauls like Perkius Maximus and Skyrim. Anything that edits perks, so chances are Ordinator as well. Brodual, I love your videos, but sometimes it feels like you just read the mod author's page really quickly and just assume it's fine to do so without really testing some of these mods in different environments. I get that it's a ton of work, but some of us would appreciate a little bit more thoroughness. A caring fan, -TGU
Sad to see this doesn't fix the ghost fingers though. By that I mean the fact that the arrow is placed on the inside on the bow, while the fingers holding the arrow are placed on the outside of the bow, in a single motion, which is impossible. If you want to shoot with your fingers on the outside of the bow, while having the arrow on the inside of the bow, you'll have to stick the arrow through the bow, or lay the arrow on the inside and then switch sides with your fingers. Having your fingers on the opposite side of the bow as the arrow is of course good as it doesn't result in the archer's paradox, but it's not as fast as having them both on the same side. Unless you're using the Mongolian thumb draw or something, because that supposedly allows for laying the arrow on the outside, using your fingers, but the using your thumb to draw from the inside, without switching your hand around. Either way, these mysterious ghost fingers capable of laying the arrow on the inside and then miraculously floating through the string to draw from the outside has to go.
The only thing that I hate about this mod is that the arrow animations screws up jumping and sneaking. The arrow will appear slightly floating next to your hand in 3rd person which really makes the animations a moot point in my opinion.
Bethesda better make the archery system and overall combat system in the next Elder Scrolls badass. I shoot bows in life and it'd be nice to see it very realistic in the next game.
