    Move the hole for the cabling back further, it will eliminate the harsh bend for a more natural one.

      It needs to be a oval too...

    I believe It's easy to take that Merc up to 200HP... I had a 175 XR6 that we turned up to 200+HP with a few mods... That boat can handle it, no problem.

      It might be possible but the cost would be over around 1500 and the fuel consumption to speed ratio would be hard to compensate for? In reality you would only gain 5-8 mph...

    Its looking really good. Ive restored 4 of them and its so nice to sit back when its done and say MAN i brought that back. Im now working on a 1983 glasstream 145 Delux.

      What's a usual price range on restoring a boat, if you don't mind me asking? I'm trying to see something 🤔

    • @lonniesimmonds2294

      @@CHASIN_A_BASS it depends on what you have to do to it. If the runners are bad under the floor that can take some money. When i look for a bass boat to restore make sure the transom is solid , and make sure soft spots are not big. My average id say 1500.00 to 5000.00 over the time. The glasstream im working on now id say i have 1500.00 into it right now with the new gelcoat paint job and fiberglass work ive done. With the rewiring builge pumps, live well system, sea deck type materal, switch out old motor to max power MOTOR allowed, id say it will be close to 2500.00 ITS REALY hard to tell because until you start tearing it apart things pop up that add cost.

    Pull the lower unit and change the water pump. Also change lower unit fluid. Before you go out!

    You could just open up the hole where the throttle cables are going through. Make a bit bigger on the right side of the hole. get some rubber edging and the hole will look oem. It will remove some stress/tension on the trotthe cable and SHOULD fix your issue

    on my pantera 3, there was a rope running down the sides and was stored under the fresh air pick up at the rear of the hull remove the chrome scoop and it was there made wiring easier

    The best thing to do would be to oblong the hole that the cables go thru cut the hole back 2 or 3 more inches and that should help alot and or solve you problem or even 4 inches more if you want to be sure

  • @MrUCL
    @MrUCL ปีที่แล้ว

    Put the cables in a tube and cut a oval hole that the tube/PVC pipe that is going into the hull. Or you can angle the throttle with washers in the front. The seats get Allen head screws on the outside and the bolts on the inside. Paint the the Allen's and washer ro camo them in.

  • @HardmanOutdoors

    Deans tops and canvas in Arkansas made the majority of the seats for bass boats back in the day.if you give them the vin # they can build exactly what you want to the manufacturers specs without having to take yout boat to them.

    • @rowdybroomstick6394
      @rowdybroomstick6394 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly what I did, I drove there and told them I was headed that way and they installed them same day. Seen all the Bass Cat seat's and all the other manufacturers they build for also. I've had my seat's 9 year's now and they're still in excellent condition!

  • @rowdybroomstick6394
    @rowdybroomstick6394 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You'll need to cut some relief hole or holes behind where the original hole is where the cable's currently comes out of. That way you have full throttle ability. Right now you may not be able to get up on plane. And that wouldn't look good on tourney day.

    For 400 more you could've had Bass Cat factory seat's from Dean's Top and Canvas in Mtn home Arkansas. They are who has made all the seats for Ranger, Bass Cat and Cobra boats back in the day.

    Any metal you add, brackets, hinges, etc... get some stainless steel or at least some galvanized stuff, or else it will rust in a heart beat, and nothing is sadder than seeing all your hard work rust away :(

    My guy! I’ve been watching this series since day 1. Fast forward over a year and I actually stumbled on a heck of a boat on marketplace for super cheap! Guess what the boat was? A 1997 BassCat Pantera II! Also white, I bought it and I’m in the process of giving it a makeover. How coincidental is that?!
