He was brilliant in sopranos. My favourite series even still now
The coolest character in the whole series in my opinion.
I had first problems to take him seriously, but when you learned to take his hammy mannerisms as an essential part of the character, Silvio became one of my favorites. One of the most unique castings for sure. Tony Sirico did a kind of same with Paulie character. Both were a bit over the top funny, but had a gritty gangster presence to keep it more drama than comedy. And of course the brilliant writing kept it all together.
Time flies... it's been a long time since the Sopranos.
Steven is living such an incredible life - playing with Springsteen got to act with Jimmy - what an awesome adventure. The guy seems so grateful and humble. May greatness continue to follow him!
And he made awesome music as a solo musician, which shows how talented he is.
He's the man!
He’s a legend that’s insane
I have to hand it to Mr Van Zandt. An incredible reknown actor and a highly famous talented musician who is still going strong.
Steve is a real lucky guy to have worked with THE James Gandolfini and to still be playing with Bruce Springsteen is just an incredible achievement (he’s got the talent too, it’s just crazy how much he’s achieved)
As a result "Little Steven's" net worth is over 80 million. About the same as David Chase or James Gandolfini. Bada-Bing!
All class, humble, talented. They don't make guys like this anymore.
"Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!"
lol first thing i think when see him 2
Such a great actor! Still cannot believe he was Silvio on Sopranos!! Wonderful and awesome 👍!!!! He deserved many awards for his acting....not to mention his guitar 🎸!!!!❤❤❤ thanks Steven!!!!!
A gifted artist
My family and I were in London in early July this year and we had afternoon tea in a hotel in Covent Garden. We took our table and preceded to look over the menu.I noticed the sandwich the guy next to us was having (literally 3 feet from my wifes shoulder) and was thinking of gettin git cause it looked good. Then I realized it was Steven Van Zandt! the band was playing Hyde Park that night. I mouthed his name to my wife (she's a Jersey girl) and she looked over and was blown away. Rock and Soprano's royalty right next to us. And you know what we did next? Nothing. Let the man enjoy his quiet time while we continued on with our tea service.
That shows real class not to bother a guy just because he's famous. I bet Steven appreciated it too.
Thanks for that. I appreciate that people are famous have personal lives. Who am I to intrude?
I must be the only person who watched the Sopranos and did not know that Mr. Van Zhant was a musician. He did a great job as an actor on that series. Hooray for artists and craftmanship.
Huh? How could not have known that?
@@jeff7764my cousin didn't either. It's not that unbelievable, if you don't follow Bruce Springsteen. It's like asking people whos Clarence Clemons? Unless you're a Springsteen fan you won't know.
@@jlobiafra I’ve never liked Bruce Springsteen and I knew that
@@jeff7764 well good for you but you don't account for everyone in the world
I don't think most people knew that. A lot of people don't follow Springsteen. Even if you do some don't know all the band members. He seems like a really good guy.
The Sopranos is probably the greatest series ever made in my opinion! I’ve watched it close to 10 times and each time, I see something that I didn’t see before.
Facts, I’m going on my third binge and 12th track suit 🤌🏽
What’s your favorite episode?
@@phillipsmom6252 I gotta say “The Test Dream” season 5, is what got me hooked. Marone! it gave the feeling of a real dream.
I put Breaking Bad above it, but I will say this, without Sopranos there's no Breaking Bad. The Muhammad Ali of TV shows -- you see what I did there? 😉
I hated it couldn't get parking on Sunday nights 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂true story wz living in woodhaven when the soprano's wz at theiir height came home late one cold Sunday evening and no exaggeration couldn't get any parking 🅿️🅿️🅿️🅿️🅿️😂😂😂😂😂
I am not a member of 'the cult of Bruce.' Their stuff never set a flame for me. But when Van Zahnt had the balls to do that roll he won me over.
Little Steven is such a wild dude. He has his own radio station called Little Stevens Underground garage. I absolutely LOVE that station and as a music fan Im always learnig something from his shows.
Ironically I always forget he was in the Sopranos and the thought of him as Springsteens guitar player also tends to escape me.
It's interesting to see a guy do so many different things well
I love this! I was in Rome and I saw no footage from there. Astounding performance to some 50.000 audience members, it felt very personal although it was a collective experience. I also love to hear Bruce freely talking about his best friend. Their perspective on the craft really changed the way I see it too. I reccomend both of their autobiographies.
Was there any flat tops?
@@franzherflek4116They didnt have flat tops in ancient Rome!
@@poppunkcovers lol correct
Love you Stevie! So talented
One night My wife and I were walking around through the west village NYC, saw Stevie talking on the phone and we exchanged nods. He can definitely walk down the street without being mobbed haha
I’ve watched him on the RRHF and I can see why he was asked to be in the Sopranos…he’s brilliant..just rolls of the top of his head….he is one of the most creative dressers there is..he’s unique.❤️🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
What a great interview for once ! Steven Van Zandt is really humble and a really nice guy ! 🎸🎹🎼
That was a short Steve Van Zandt master class for acting and music. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Wish they would have made a brief mention of his time with Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, and him honing his songwriting chops on one of the best albums of the 70's - Hearts of Stone.
Definitely a Varsity musician and actor.
Hahahaha. Brilliant.
Legendary actor thank you sir
I find it amazing how some people can be fed by an audience. When I have spoken in public, I found it draining. Little Steven is incredible. I have been a fan of his solo work for about 40 years.
I'm watching the Sopranos for the first time at the moment, I know it's going to be one of those things that makes me feel sad when I get to the end. Such a nice bit of symmetry that Steven has a somewhat similar role on the show as well as with the E Street Band. Top man.
I love Stevie and his big old heart.❤️
I love Little Steven dude is such an amazing guitar player and loved him as Silvio
Mr VZ, you are one, well respected and cool person! Enjoyed you in The Sopranos
I absolutely love his solo on
Downbound Train.
He is a legend.
Little Stevie has had an awesome life... love his quirky personality.
talent and charm
Legend
More talent than the stones, truth..
Love him
The best right hand man ask Bruce Springsteen ask Tony Soprano
I also call myself the Understudy great word ✍🏻🎸🎭
I love the way he dresses!
The scene in the car with Adriana ooof
Wow didn’t know Steve was a music legend 💯🙌🙏
You go, boys! I’m like 20 years younger & don’t remember what it feels like to be 15.
I saw at a small venue in the mid 80s... Ain't Gonna Play Sun City was probably his biggest song, but the whole show rocked.
Happy 73rd Birthday "Little / Miami" Steven Van Zandt.
Steven Lento 11/ 22 /50. Watertown, Massachusett
Solo artist, actor and activist. I like him in the Saprano's
Sopranos was the best show
I would say anyone World wide who loved James Gandolfini respects and misses him dearly.
I know I do. Peace to his family.

Happy birthday little stevie!!! Born Nov. 22nd.
Love him ,he will always will be.I might not agree with him and the boss.but still love
The only celebrity death that really bothered me, and bummed me out, was James Gandolfini.
LOVE the thumbnail photo 📸
LOVE VAN ZAHNT AND BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN ❤
The sopranos and the wire are the most important shows ever but I’d give the edge to the sopranos because it’s just funnier and deeper.Shhhiiieeeeet.
Now that's a good picture!
fantastic Actor. italian face. we hope to see again in great sequel or prequel. !!!
Van Zant so cool.
You guys gotta watch the Rock Hall induction of the Rascals Little Steven introduced them it was awesome

I been thinkin about this guy, this mob guy, this rocker, I miss him in Lillyhammer. Someone please hire him to do another show. I'll watch it!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
❤❤
Just when I thought I was out they pull me back in.
The underground garage with little stevie best radio show today
100 percent Italian? Ah yes, the classic Italian name "Van Zandt"
Takes but a few seconds to google his birth name: Lento. Italian enough for you?
@@r3d5ive87 It's called a joke.
That by the way means "slow"
Syl got defiant on that load of tiles that went missing though. Lest we forget.
Lillehammer is goated
Sry for off top but on 0:30 you can see hes using a guitar painted in the colours of Ukrainian flag i also heard hes a huge supporter of Ukraine which is so heart warming to see , he seems like a such a good man and an actor , hope he lives his best life
James Gandolfini passed away, unfortunately…😢
He was not a dolphin
Steven Lento
Silvio . is the the best
I have the best comment. Because Steve worked for 2 bosses lol 😂
rip
I'd rather remember him as the owner of badda bing
Lol
Springsteen is 1/2 Italian
Yes, his mothers maiden name is Zirilli.
😮😊❤🎉
Anthony Junior is a good kid will he ever talk to me I like the sopranos.
acting without acting..like george costanza once said
Where's the gabagool?
It's in the fridge on the second shelf behind the eggs. The provolone is in the first drawer. Make yourself a sandwich. I'll be down in a few minutes.
Wow I had no idea he was in a band with Bruce Springsteen
Tony Soprano had the makings of a varsity serial killer.
All due the respect
.cit
He's a cheese ball, but I love the underground garage!🤘
Why now?
That wasn't long enough...
The entire segment was on 60 minutes...that's if you can get by their disgusting left wing bias on their other segments.
not many people have had a very successful music and acting career
< 3
Little Steven is great in Netflix's "Lilyhammer".
Steven must get his clothes at the same place as Johnny Depp & Keith Richards... you know what they say: if you wanna be a rockstar you gotta dress like a rockstar
👂 🌎 🌏 🌍 ❤
Steve lento or so was his name i think
He’s lost weight looks good
Love Love Love Stevie. Bruce can go F himself but Stevie is the band.
I think this guy is a hardcore Liberal. That’s the thing about celebrities, because they make so much money, they’re disconnected from the everyday person
That's why the GOP wants to cut S.S. and Medicare 'cause their so in touch. FO.
Give it back or go to jail
Was that his real hair in the Sopranos? And how does an Italian get a name like Van Zandt because the name sure sounds Germanic or Scandinavian?
No that’s not his real hair. And “Van Zandt” was the name of his stepfather. He’s Italian.
Nicely done. And very diplomatic. Two schoolings in one reply. How costuming and makeup work. And how last names can be deceiving. @@mph7282
Why does he always wear those head coverings all the time?
So if he’s Italian why is his last name Van Zandt?
He took the name of his stepfather when his mother remarried. It’s not his birth name.
@mph7282 bit of a stage thing too I guess
@@javimiami92 well, it’s been his name since he was seven years old. It’s what he went by almost all his life. It’s also the name of his half siblings, including playwright and actor Billy Van Zandt.
His mother was Italian and his biological father was Italian as well with the surname Lento. His mother remarried when he was young and Van Zandt is his step-father’s surname.
@@johncanalese588 the other guy explained it already, thanks.
Bad editing. You're welcome.
Acting without acting
Too bad they never let him play guitar on the sopranos
Hello
I find Bruce Springsteen to be one of the most overrated acts of all time, but there's no denying The Sopranos is the greatest show in the history of television and likely always will be
And he’s a constitutional law expert and was lead manager for the second impeachment of Trump. Senator Raskin, we salute your remarkable career.
@MaccyMacMacMac
Didn’t do a good job did he, the whole impeachment was a farce by the left
