I’m just blown away by her color palette throughout the house. Every color is PERFECT! Not too dark, not too light, not too blue, not too grey. So warm and unusual but also grounded in history. Just masterful.
A beautiful house, so full of charm and without any hint of pretentiousness despite some quite valuable pieces everywhere. The owner's warm personality shines through. Really lovely!
My child hood home!! One of 10 children, we rode the bannister, lined up one by one at the top of the stairs for Christmas morning, family dinners, shared rooms, great neighbors, walking to grade school, high school and college.. forever grateful to parents that sacrificed for the love of family and children.. great restoration of many many fond memories!!❤️
Thank you for an 8-minute break from our mixed up world. Your soothing voice, the colors, the art, the scale, that sofa, the porch ... all of it! Your husband's child-hood home must have been exquisite. Can we get a tour of that? Regards from Indiana!
This is just a truly lovely home. From this short introduction to the family, it feels absolutely personal to who Chelsea, Jack, Hattie, and their pets are. I love a home that feels more collected, less curated. The color theme feels perfectly weighted with the flow of the home and the movement of the light, the furnishing are so wonderfully personal to their family, and the patina of everything from the trim to the pictures frames is just dreamy. Thank you, for sharing your home with us!
Love the home, color pallet, soft music and the fact that you keep your videos short enough to give us a moment that will fit into our busy daily schedules!
The patina coffee table deserved more attention than the shot the cameraperson gave it. I also live in a house that needs electrical updates and has a one-butt kitchen, so I felt her on that. Like her, I'm a warm minimalist who loves mixing antique and modern pieces. I’m passionate about art and got a few art and vignette ideas from this video, including the layered plaster busts, gallery rails, -very soft, clean, and charming.
This is such an inspiring restoration! The attention to detail in preserving the character of the 1850s while adding modern touches is impeccable. Amazing work, Chelsea!
This home is magical! It is incredibly beautiful and decorated with the perfect amount of restraint. The artwork is phenomenal. Very sweet dog and cat, as well. Thank you for this lovely tour! ❤
Warm, mellow, flowing, cohesive, elegant & understated- the best way to work with traditional pieces & a city steeped in historic charm. Gorgeous "love letter" to Charleston.
It's great but with the cost of replumbimg and rewiring that entire house I feel like they went over budget or something and skimped out on the kitchen.
This is one of the most beautiful homes I've seen in a while, I absolutely loved everything about it. This couple have exquisite taste, everything is just so considered and fits perfectly. Thank you for the tour ❤
Oh my goodness, I photographed your house (on the outside) about 20 years ago!!!!! Your home is absolutlely stunning, thank you for sharing it with us. K
Simplicity about this American icon home in one of the most oldest and prettiest city of our country. Great job Ms. Handegan. All the best in 2025. Thank you for sharing this intimate cozy place you call home.
What a beautiful home! I love all the things that were part of their childhood homes and fit so seamlessly into this house. It’s warm and inviting and a lovely place to grow up. I also love the choice to have a smaller dining table for family meals. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home in my favorite East Coast city!
Greetings from Chicago, I love your home, it is so unique. It reminds me of Williamsburg. I love that you left the kitchen the same as it was, that is absolutely unheard of and makes so much sense. Huge kitchens are hideous and cold, never seeming cozy. The pink is gorgeous and I love all the antiques. The scale of the rooms and furniture seems very comfortable. Simple, elegant, warm and homey. Thank you so much for sharing this gorgeous and unusual home with us!
I simply love this home, the designer has honoured its history with a sensitive yet modern and fun new lease of life. Well done! Charleston is gorgeous and I’d gladly live there if it weren’t for the humidity and the heat 😅
Love what you have done here. It is not minimalist by a mile but all the more interesting as a result. I love the idea of a well lived home, that is what home is meant to be after all.
@@kgalvin7503 With respect if you have to ask, what the definition of ‘normal’ is, in this context, you may never know, re-watch the episode. Can I also make a very elementary suggestion for you, look up the definition of ‘normal’ in a dictionary, that would be a good and uncomplicated place to start from. Thank you.

What a lovely home; not only architecturally but of course, the decoration. Love that you don't like gratuitous stuff, I am the same way ~~ no apologies. I also love antiques, they stir the imagination of times before more so than modern. If they are in bad shape, I re-paint and sometimes add transfers or molding. Thank you for the inspo!
Lovely home! Very warm and peaceful! My family home had pale pink walls in all the rooms. Dad went along with the idea even though he kept saying, "Are you sure about pink?" When the work was done, he liked it and so did everybody else. This was in the early 1950's.
I love your home. Its cozy and traditional. I am not a fun of clutter--it's too overwhelming. I see you have the book Theft by Finding by David Sedaris--its a great read..
So beautiful. I have Amelia’s book and have admired your work. I would love to know the combination of paint that you chose for the pink walls, because I have tried most of the Benjamin Moore and Farrow and Ball pinks and none have worked so I gave up on pink for now. 😩

This was a real treat. I love what you've done, including keeping the kitchen small, almost unheard of these days.
Yes! I agree wholeheartedly! ❤
I have authentic Lv only one and then I bought from *suluxy* , wait the twins one that are authentic , sounds better.
A beautiful house, so full of charm and without any hint of pretentiousness despite some quite valuable pieces everywhere. The owner's warm personality shines through. Really lovely!
Thank you! We couldn't agree more!!
Absolutely stunning. Minimalism done just right. Zero sterility and such welcoming warmth. Love every bit of it.
Yes, exactly. Well said. ✨

Wonderful story from a previous inhabitant. Thank you.
Crisp and tailored yet warm and welcoming, Chelsea Handegan has collected and edited a beautiful home for her family.
The pink it's absolutely perfect for the living room. This is a lovely home.
What a beautiful home this is! A joy to look at!
Love her palette!!! Also, her ability to have that layered look without looking cluttered, being true to her minimalism and her husband's maximalism.
This home is stunning! There’s something about that small dining table in that large room that feels so right.

I love the charm and architecture in Charleston. Lovely house. This pink color is splendid! Beautiful deco. 💝 From Canada
Beautiful. Loved the kitchen. Small but classy. Lots of inspiration in this short video ❤
It's great but with the cost of replumbimg and rewiring that entire house I feel like they went over budget or something and skimped out on the kitchen.
What a wonderful house. She has such amazing style! Jacks done a great job with the art work! 👍

A beautiful home. Stunning color palette.
YOUR PAINTINGS ARE AWESOME !! GOOD TASTE 😊
Amelia Handigan is a unique decorator and its nice to see what her son and daughter in law have done to their home. Very Charleston !
her bedroom and her daughter's bedroom.....LOVE LOVE and love the soft pink paint color in living area, too.

Wow, absolutely stunning.
Absolutely gorgeous home, thank you
Love the dog! Nothing makes a house feel like a home like books. A wonderful addition to the bedroom. Best room in the house.
What a whimsical house! The colour scheme is also stunning! ❤❤❤
Your house is stunning. The colors really help all the art stand out.
Beautiful home and I love how you were a part of the neighborhood before you even purchased the house.

Yes! real books! beautiful home, just enough not to be a cold minimalist home. A stunning building! that balcony!
My goodness!
Southern charm at its best. Vintage brown Mercedes is lovable as well.
I simply love this home, the designer has honoured its history with a sensitive yet modern and fun new lease of life. Well done! Charleston is gorgeous and I’d gladly live there if it weren’t for the humidity and the heat 😅

So beautiful and special as a family home.
Love what you have done here. It is not minimalist by a mile but all the more interesting as a result. I love the idea of a well lived home, that is what home is meant to be after all.
So refreshing to see a husband and wife, a normal family, and a very beautiful home. There is hope …
How do you define a “normal” family?
What does this even mean?? My God, you're a ridiculous lot who think like this.

This house is one of the most beautuful ones seen on youtube, the pool is missing
