    Very well done! I just bought a Gaggia machine which is nearly identical inside and was nervous that I wouldn't be able to service it myself when the time comes, but this breakdown and rebuild was perfect!

    Thanks for this wonderful video, I wanted to completly clean my Philips 4000 series. But what a nightmare : mine is a bit different with the joystick enabling to choose between Expresso & Coffee. I didn't pay attention by taking it of, and... a nightmare to understand how to put it back. I noticed too late that your model is simpler.

    thanks for the good video. I think my problem is in the water flow meter. How can I remove and replace it ? The four lights are blinking after I pushed the expresso button. Hot water and steam are ok.

      @SpareTimeWorkshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      you're welcome, thanks for the response.
      I did not have to remove the flow meter myself. and I think you have a slightly different device. (I don't have lights).
      But if you take the top off you should be able to get to it. can your coffee machine rinse the brew group?
      I would rather look for it at the grinder.
      but i have no experience with this error

    Hello , thanks for your video…. Just question, in time 19:27, i can see the eletrovalve . When have 230v , the valvule open and let water or vaporisation, right? But water also go to the brewer Group in same time? Because i can not see nothing for blocked water for brewer group . Thanks

    • @SpareTimeWorkshop
      @SpareTimeWorkshop  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If voltage goes to the valve then it does indeed go to the steam nozzle. That will not be 230v but less I assume.
      The path to the brew group remains open. But there is another valve that only opens at higher pressure. Which means the water only goes to the steam side when the valve is open. Because that is the path of least resistance for the water.

    Hello, really nice video! I would like to connect my water cleaner outlet with the water inlet of the coffee machine. I plan to install a pressure regulator before that for having the water pressure similar to the natural water supply of the machine.
    My question is now, can you tell me the tube details of the Water inlet tube which you disassemble at 7:14 in your video?

    Thank you, any idea what can cause the milk to flow very slow when frothing ? Thanks

    • @SpareTimeWorkshop
      @SpareTimeWorkshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't own the machine annymore. But if I remember correctly the frothing is pretty slow.
      Maybe someone who also owns the machine can confirm this?
      Check the connection of the hose for leaks.
      And the milk you use must be cold.

      That would be nice. Let us know if it fixes your problem. I finally replaced the entire brewing group because it kept leaking.

    could you kindly let me know how to fix the "no bean" error while the bean hopper is full. The machine dumps the freshly grinded coffee ground and displayed "no bean".

    • @SpareTimeWorkshop
      @SpareTimeWorkshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have never had this error myself. but as far as i know there is no sensor in the bean reservoir.
      I would check the microswitches behind the brew group first. I assume that they register that the brew group closes too far when the beans are used up.
      Maybe one of those micro switches is giving a false indication?
      I no longer own the coffee machine, so unfortunately I can't test this for you.
      Good luck, I hope you can find it.
      let me know!

    The videos I find all miss how to remove the back cover of Philips 5000 series coffee machines. I bought a used one, 5330/10 to be exact and there is a water leak. Mine has some water beneath the left back corner, when looking from the front. Near the power cord. Wanted to remove the back without damaging the plastic. Do I first need to remove the top or can I just remove the back?

    • @SpareTimeWorkshop
      @SpareTimeWorkshop  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have never had that machine apart. Often coffee machines are very similar to slightly older models.
      Unfortunately, I can't help you any further. The model in this video requires the top to be taken off first.
      Good luck, I believe in you being able to fix it.

    Hi
    It was a useful video. Thank you.
    Is it normal to have some water in the drip tray after each espresso, americano? Even though there is no drip on the nozzle, I see some water in the tray. Is it normal to have some water after every espresso, americano or cleaning?

    • @SpareTimeWorkshop
      @SpareTimeWorkshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      hello, glad to hear you found the video useful. Unfortunately I no longer own the device. I do know that a little bit of water always ends up in the drip tray. the coffee is made under pressure. to prevent long dripping after brewing, the pressure is released and a little water leaks into the drip tray.

    Hi, do you have a parts manual for this model? I’m struggling to order parts? Do you also service the brewing unit?

    • @SpareTimeWorkshop
      @SpareTimeWorkshop  ปีที่แล้ว

      No I don't have a parts manual unfortunately.
      I did film how I gave the brewing group a service. In the end I had to replace the whole brewing group so I left it out.

    Thanks for the great video! I'm hoping you might know the fix to another issue with this machine. During descaling the descaling process stops with an error message that the brew unit is not placed correctly. But the brew unit is stuck in place during descaling and I can't remove it to fix it even after pulling out the drip tray. Do you know how I can reset the position of the brew unit or remove it?

    • @SpareTimeWorkshop
      @SpareTimeWorkshop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had the same error code. then I replaced 1 of the microswitches behind the brewunit.
      I don't know how to get your brewunit in the right position

    Hi. If you have encountered a similar situation, what could be the problem? Thank you!!! - th-cam.com/video/cDt8chOwOUw/w-d-xo.html
    The machine starts, heats the boiler, then tries to pump water and stops. Water recirculation is suggested and many cycles can be done to no avail. If you press the stop button when it shows water drops, it sometimes starts and then runs.

    • @SpareTimeWorkshop
      @SpareTimeWorkshop  ปีที่แล้ว

      I took a quick look. But unfortunately, I don't know either.
