I filmed a casual mini home tour after I put together an arrangement of white lilacs, that I had just cut from the garden, for the sitting room and then I picked up the house a little before my company arrives. I will quickly show you were some of my glassware and China is kept and a bit of my disorganization too!
I believe fine living and happiness begins within ourselves and at home. My two cents: please take your childhood mantle with you (if you do sell your home). You have mentioned it often in your videos about how it has travelled with you in your different homes and even in your store. It's beautiful and appears to be full of good memories. Once you sell your home, you most likely won't be able to ever get it back. Again, just a suggestion :)
My suggestion is to take the mantle and replace it with another so the buyer has a complete fireplace. Lovely home and looking forward to your next one❣️
I'd go with the green wallpaper because it always goes best with fall ,spring, Easter and Christmas decorations!! Just a thought. Never leave behind the childhood mantle. Even your children might want it some day. I used to ask my kids if they wanted some antique item and they would say no but as they get older now they think maybe some of these are great. They are beginning to see how well things used to be made compared to the kinda cheap things made for a throw away society of today.

I love your stair carpet it goes so well with the decoration in your home and traditional always gives it that air of quality . I liked both wall papers but like you if I’m unsure then you might need to look at other papers. Nice home. Lovely dog. Moving is so stressful I do admire your energy to take on another property. We’ve been in our home for nearly 19 years and are upgrading bathrooms etc. Living in Spain we normally have a lot of family who visit. Unfortunately because of COVID and them living in England it’s not been possible. Tk care and thank you for sharing. X

For flower arrangements, just take scotch tape and make a grid pattern over the top. Easy!

I like the blue pattern in the dining room. The green is probably more in keeping with your style & echo the outside green.
What a great video. I hope you reconsider taking that fireplace mantel. I sold one one time and to this day, I regret it. Love love love the violet syrup. I absolutely adore your sitting room. When I was a very young girl, I came home from school one day and found that my mom had removed the wall between our tiny kitchen and one of the bedrooms that was right next to it. She turned the bedroom into a TV room is what we called it. My dad almost had a heart attack when he came home and saw the wall missing. It was one of my fondest memories. My mom was an amazing woman. She could do just about anything.
Take the mantel, take the mantel! My parents dragged a baby grand piano around the world. Now it's mine to do the same. Wouldn't have it any other way.
We always leave items in wall cavities for the next remodel, a time capsule. We've left a wine cork, beer bottle cap and a little dated note. It's fun when found. Love your home and as always, your videos!🌷🐕
hi Linda. i cut little squares of that rubber mesh stuff that you get from the dollar store to stop things slipping in drawers and put them under the feet of our sofa and it stops it sliding back on the wood flooring love your channel

I really love the carpet on the stairs! I am de aging pulling the carpet off my stairs and painting them, although I know they are just builder grade stairs under the carpeting.
I have a sectional sofa that is ultra suede and it washes so well. Like yours, the pillows on mine have feathers flying when fluffing or taking off the fabric to wash. Gets in the dryer too. I love the fabric on your sofa and those curtains I love.
Hi Linda, Watching you arrange the lilacs brought back childhood memories to me. As an 8 yr old I can still smell the scent of lilacs blowing in the breeze through my bedroom window on a warm spring day. Sometimes I wish I could just turn back the clock. Have a wonderful day! :)
We used to play hide and seek at my grandmothers and a favorite hiding place was the lilac bush! Thanks for the memories

I loved this tour. I like the green wallpaper. It is a safe choice since you are planing on selling your house. I had a beautiful colorful brunschwig and Fils floral wallpaper in my dining room. It was only up a few years and was the first thing that the new homeowner took down.
I also would have loved the star carpet on the stairs, but with a dog and selling your home ... the runner you chose is the most practical and traditional choice. You have such lovely taste that anything you choose is perfect .
I also think that your white dishes have to go 😉

Growing up in Massachusetts, I always associate Memorial Day with lilacs blooming. My mother, too, would bring purple lilacs from our yard into the house. What a beautiful fragrance.

Oh, Linda. I love flowers that are not formal, but put in a vase like you did in this video. Please take that mantle with you to your forever home. That will be something you may regret if you don't take it. Your home is just beautiful, Linda. Thank you for teaching me new tricks all the time.
Wood Prices: for those that are interested! This hike in wood prices is North America wide, so happening here in Canada as well...it is a case of Marketing 101 = Supply & Demand! Modern Plywood needed for building is called OSB, which is made from Resin and flaked wood; Resin is made from Petro Chemicals....The Ice Storm that hit Texas, took out the Petro Chemical plants which have a lot of outdoor machinery, which in normal times, is fine...as they never get ice storms in Texas! That - along with the power outages ... then Mills shutting down due to Covid.... now factor in that EVERYbody decided, during Covid, that is was the perfect time to do Renovations... there is a Building Boom here in B.C.... yes, sadly, there were a lot of jobs lost/financial strain due to the virus ... but there is a ton of money out there, that has not been spent on travelling or trips, cruising/concerts/plays/sporting events... even items such as clothing/cosmetics - with 'at home' having new meaning (work from home, wanting an outdoor space/yard, privacy from neighbors, space, etc.)..., People are renovating and building or buying homes.... our real estate is absolutely crazy, with house prices just nuts and multiple offers, etc. So that is why wood prices have gone up!
May I add inflation from the government printing stimulus money. And rising fuel costs from "green" agendas.

Your videos are some of my favorites. You always have such good ideas.I never thought of using the mesh to arrange flowers.
I put small lengths of 2x4s behind the legs of my sofa to keep it away from the wall. You can take some fabric and cover them to mask them and keep them from scratching the floor or wall.

We had a lilac tree in our backyard growing up. My mother had a beautiful large black vase to put them in. Your home is so beautiful. I admire how you are going after your new home. A friend of a friend knew the neighborhood she wanted to live in, so she went knocking on doors and asking if they wanted to sell. She got her home this way. Remolded it and now has a gorgeous home.

Linda, thank you for taking us thru house again. I still like the green... but I get it! If you dont do something right away... then you feel that something is holding you back for a reason. Love the stair carpeting!! Just that traditional look is beautiful in of itself. Stars does sound like fun. But maybe too style specific. Now that you and Ben know you are moving, stars may have not been right for the next homeowner. Those rainy day projects are soo my thing. Silver cleaning and organizing China/ glass cabinets. Loved the casual tour, and of course the perfection that is precious Willow. I gladly accept your invitation to your “OCD”! Realized recently that I need my pickle jar labels to all be facing out on the fridge shelf! In spending decades decorating our 100 y/o English tudor home, I’m like you in knowing that if something doesn’t click with me right away, even if I like it, the “just right” choice will come.

Thank you for the video loved it. Take the mantle with you. You've taken it everywhere else and you don't want to regret leaving it behind. My husband and I ( sound like the Queen - before - Aaaahhh ) bought a plastic life size flamingo on a visit to my sister in England. We came in, my sister was out so we left the flamingo in the middle of her front garden. When she came in she said " I might have known you two would buy something naff. " Well it didn't match the U.K. but it was fine by our pool in Spain. When we sold that house, sob, my husband's fault, he wanted to move to the coast we left it behind. Our German Shepherd had chewed its beak off. You know I still wish I'd brought it with us. Our containers of furniture have been packed up for 18 years. I'm still hoping when I can get in a position to open them that one of the removals men has tossed it inside. Don't make my mistake. The corner unit will fit lots of places. Unless you buy a lighthouse.
Liked both of the materials but liked the blue more. Love the way your home has different rooms. It's more cosy. Not like the modern houses these days of one big room and everything fitted in. Like the traditional style more.
Enjoyable video as always. My first thought was the green wallpaper. However, you just may need a room with a pop of blue that's different from the other rooms!

I screwed a 1x4 to the floor behind a corner chair in my bedroom to save the wall behind from being marred. It's done the job for yrs, my new paint job is still flawless. I find the celery green wallpaper quite interesting, but I'm aa fan of almost any shade of green.

Well.... I know it's not my house, but when you brought the camera around to the wallpaper samples, that celery color really lit up that wall. The blue is beautiful- I love blue-in this instance though that celery color really worked. It's a big investment so I know you'll know the right one when you see it.

This has been issue for the last 3 weeks. I get the notification late some times as much as a day late. This video showed up said 34 minutes, but when I go to view it was 2 hours ago. I think the green wallpaper would be the most compatible with the beautiful views of greenery out of those gorgeous windows. And please don't ever put a TV on that corner cabinet .Its history and charm does not go with with technology of today
