      Altech Eco is ford QVM which means qualified vehicle modifier, saying that Altech gets the orders from ford and upfits the vehicles. The cost of this conversion varies 8-12K. sorry for the late response, didn't see comments

    What tool do you use to modify the PCM to change the engine fuel type or ratios, I want to actually convert a 2003 F150 engine Z type back to just gas and want to know what module to modify using forscan. I am going to remove the rails and use gas only injectors. I after you installed your conversion what did you have to program?

    • @MKTECHUA
      @MKTECHUA  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Tom Dunkle good question , Altech Eco is a Qualified Vehicle Modifier for Ford Motor Co. We have calibrations provided from Ford to flash the PCM. What you need to do is , stop by your nearest Ford dealership and have them to reprogram your PCM with their IDS tool !

    Do you know anything about the air guns they have a tank that can handle up to 4500 PSI can we use that instead of this big heavy tank

    • @rivertideyardpro2293
      @rivertideyardpro2293 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have those air tanks for PCP yeah they hold a lot but not enough to get you any good distance on the road on the road I need to find a way to compress the natural gas by myself without having to purchase one of those homefilling stations for 5 grand

    Great video! Where are you guys located? Is it practical to convert a V8? If so, What’s the average cost to convert an f150? I have a CNG vehicle right now and really like the price of natural gas especially in the San Francisco area

    • @MKTECHUA
      @MKTECHUA  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Mitch A we are located in Arden North Carolina. Conversion cost for a f150 varies, anywhere from 6.5k to 12k . Depends on how much GGE you want and need . Checkout www.altecheco.com

  • @fan8951

    Hi Mike - thanks for the video. I have a question: I recently purchased a 2001 Ford E250 van with factory CNG. I'm interested in making it bi-fuel. How doable would this be on my own and how much would it cost for a professional job? Thanks!

    • @MKTECHUA
      @MKTECHUA  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, it will cost you a lot , first off , you need a bi fuel calibration , Ford doesn’t have a bi fuel cal available for 2001 , that means that you will have to go with a after market calibration, which means you have to add extra set of injectors and another driver/computer. Our company used to own a 2001 f250 and I did a lot of work on it , I believe that a lot of gasoline components are out of the vehicle also, can’t remember which components . So , it’s doable however, it will cost you lot of money to make that vehicle run properly , and still can’t guarantee that it will bc it will be aftermarket .

    Hi Mike, how feasible would it be to remove a CNG conversion, and return the vehicle (also an F150) to gasoline?

    • @MKTECHUA
      @MKTECHUA  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      +32Dorbust what year is your truck and what system u have on ?

    • @UnderSprayedWhiteSkies
      @UnderSprayedWhiteSkies 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi again Mike, I don't own the truck, was considering buying a 2004, F150 that the City of Phoenix (I assume they were responsible) converted to NG. The truck has a long bed, and is 2WD.

    • @MKTECHUA
      @MKTECHUA  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      32Dorbust it’s do able if you know what ur doing ! First thing is first , if it’s a 2004 , more then likely that truck is mono fuel , you would have to buy the gasoline fuel rails and other gas components that are missing , then you would have to take it to ford dealer for them to flash it back to gasoline ! Once again if it’s a 2004, it probably came converted from ford !

    • @UnderSprayedWhiteSkies
      @UnderSprayedWhiteSkies 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi again Mike, thanks for the insight. Yes, it is mono fuel (it is only equipped to run on natural gas). Do you think it would have come with a gasoline tank mounted in the customary location, (there is only one fuel door on the driver's side) or would I have to acquire the gasoline tank/pump, filler neck/door, supply/return lines, wiring, etc., in addition to the fuel rails? Thanks again

    • @MKTECHUA
      @MKTECHUA  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +32Dorbust bro it’s a possibility, I would have to look at the truck to tell u 100%. But my 12 year experience and developing the system that we developed at Altech Eco , that’s the reason we always keep gasoline components on the vehicle , run it bi-fuel, just for situations like this !!! U understand , or u want me to go into more details ?

    Why flex line? Hard line is safer and 100% more appealing.

    • @MKTECHUA
      @MKTECHUA  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Flex lines are as durable as stainless steel, because the testing they go through. however, flex lines are easier to install and actually reduces the conversion cost.

    Is it even legal in the US? :O LPG is pretty much a norm in Europe but it's highly regulated, it has to be made by certified shop, using new parts that have to be bought from local dealer so for eg you can't buy the same kit in France and install it in German workshop but making an installation in another EU country is not a problem though.
