Wow that was amazing acting on both parts. Incredibly intricate choreography on so many different planes and axis and changes of direction. This is amazing. Their everything, facial expression, body positions and pacing was so with the music. The actual emotions conveyed was very clearly expressed and not mechanical or technical but really living the story. They are very well matched physically both tall and so long limbed strong yet nimble and delicate.
Without a doubt, This is the best, Yuan yuan Tan interprets a sick poor women with her delicate and perfect dance language ...Edvin Revazov is the best.
Whoever made decision for black background with both dancers wearing black depreciated both dancers movement and choreography as viewers cannot easily them.
Just add on thing: I do love Zakharova, her technique is incomparable. But Yuan Yuan Tan's performance is just more convincing, she does look like that poor frail girl who is mortally sick. Zakharova is brilliant but way too strong for the character.
Love Art agreed. Tan’s acting, including her facial expressions is very convincing. Also the chemistry between them is totally amazing. It’s really beyond the usual, where the male is merely the frame for the female, who is the star. They are both equally present. He actually seems to be emotionally and physically in total sync with her. It has something to do with her vulnerability, trust, and surrendering to the moment, it really accentuates and encourages the male partner’s answering passionate and intimate response. The way she uses her hands and arms to lovingly stroke his face and body whilst using her torso and legs to gently cup and accept him it’s amazing technique to build passion, intimacy, and grief. I have watched this many times to study them and find that their faces are always open and actively responding to each other instinctively and always so close to together in many varying angles and planes.Their focus on each other was total and they never lost the overall connection to focus on the mechanical movement or technique which allowed for incredible fluidity with music. It really did not seem like they were conscious of performing to an audience so wrapped up they were in each other. Until the end when the audience clapped, I thought they were just doing a closed studio filming of video. I was enthralled till the end.
