Everyone - Watch the Hinglish version if possible because that's how it was originally filmed. The Hindi version is partially dubbed. As a viewing experience, it hardly matters.. but for cinema purists out there, just a heads-up.
Funny that for so many years some people call Kareena not a good actress when she showed countless times that she is one of the most capable Bollywood actresses. She's gained her position in a movie industry for a reason. She debuted at the time when you had to prove your talent. Today's nepo babies only have to appear on social media to get a big fan following.
The first 5 years of her career, she bagged roles after roles despite one flop after flop due to nepotism. Of course she is now a very capable actress, but let’s not kid yourself, thinking getting numerous chances, despite initial no sign of talent, that she was some sort of Sridevi, Madhuri or Shabana azmi
Us time models ka craze tha sabko chikne handsome ladke ladkiya chiye thi isliye dino morea aur jhon ko movies m kaam mila 😂 but ajkal to average looking actor's ko movies m lead mil jata h agar woh south ka star h
@RajuAhmed-sy7ys At least she improved her acting skills with each film not like today's nepo actors who didn't develop any skills but still got role after role.
Kareena is so confident. Her face is so real, I hope she keeps it real and not make it plastic like every other actress these days. Botox and fillers won't let you express your emotions through eyes and face.
Jab we met was the first time I saw a heroine not just as an eye candy but an 'actress'. She was so damn good in the role. People may hate her for her rudeness and other things but no one can deny that she is such a phenomenal actor. With the discussion about nepotism, she has received too much hate which I think is unwarranted. Even if you get more opportunities because of your family, all are wasted if you cannot act. People need to separate the art from the artist's personal life. Unless the said artist has committed any crimes, it is unjust the just venting our actor.
Log Kareena Kapoor se isliye hate nahi karte kyunki woh nepo kid hai. Jab We Met ke baad woh usey aur bhi zyada pasand karte thhe. Par isne apne time ki lagbhag har actresses par stupid se comments karne shuru kiye jo batata thha ke ye unse kitna jealous feel karti hai. Isko akele hi saara attention chahiye thha. Phir chahe woh ek dress ke baare mein ho. Award ho. Film ko lekar ho. Talent ki baat ho. Kon kis se kis mamle mein achha ho ye baat ho. Ya boyfriend ho. Kareena ka behaviour apne time ki actress ke saath kuch khaas achha nahi thha. Pahle toh logon ne ignore kiya in sab baaton ko kyunki us time ye bahut young thhi. Childish thhi. Par itna toh chalta hai, Isliye benefit of doubt dekar bhi es baat ko bhulaya jaa sakta hai. Lekin aage jaakar bhi isne apni harkaten nahi chodi. Isey humesha se hi centre of attraction banna thha. Apni hi importance dikhani thhi. Jab SSR ka case saamne aaya toh logon ne iske purane video viral kiye aur dekha ye kya sochti hai dusre actor aur actresses ke baare mein. Jo baat logon ki pahle ignore ki thhi usko log notice karne lag gaye. Toh log galat nahi hain yahaan Jab Kareena Kapoor ko pata chala ab mujhe logon ki nazar mein relevant rahna hai tab isne apne baat karne ke tarike ko sudhara. Now she is behaving like a mature person. Toh baat bas itni hai Kareena ke talent par kisiko doubt nahi. Par agar aap apne ko uncha dikhane ke liye dusron ko nicha dikhate ho then nobody wants to notice your talent.
@@screensafari17nahi kyunki yahan Kareena ke rudeness aur Nepotism ki bhi baat Hui thhi. Isliye es tarah ka comment Kiya. Ye Kareena Kapoor ke fans ke liye jaan na bhi bahut zaruri hai. Apart from all the points that Jammy shared, I also appreciated the realistic costume styling that was done for Kareena's character. A person travelled from one city to another at the lowest phase of their life, packed a limited number of garments, and layered them differently each day. It is like the capsule wardrobe concept. The colour theme of wardrobe aligning with the hues and weather of the surroundings looked beautiful too.
The runtime of 1 hour 49 mins is something to admire. We need to appreciate films with no song and dance or the routine masala tropes. At the same time, we need to carry the song and dance tradition and the 3 hour long format because that's in our DNA and that's who we are as Indian cinema lovers. A room for both makes for a great space!
@@RuplinaBhowmik movies and songs can still be part of a film, as he said it's in our dna, desi ppl live music, we celebrate dance, but directors need to be careful on when on how to add songs in a film
@@RuplinaBhowmikno films and music can and should still be together, at least a song at the end of the film, Indians love a good dance, the problem comes when the song disturbs the flow of the film
Kareena's Jaane Jaan, then Crew, and now this! Great choices to explore and test her own acting range. More importantly for me, in this movie and Jaane Jaan, she did not hide her wrinkles and age, and she did a basic makeup. It makes her relatable and genuine. I respect that in any female actor from any part of the world. This gives female actors power over beauty related stereotypes and they can truly and fully act in front of the cameras. This woman's second innings in her acting career has begun. I'm looking forward to more and more amazing work from her. ❤
Yeah, I really love this thing about her ... In the time when people in their 20s are normalising botox and fillers... She inspires us to embrace aging and our natural skin
@@Klumsyyykitshz Yeah, same here. I find her one of the smartest among women. She seems to understand that botox will make anyone's face look creepy. Also botox kills facial expressions, which ironically is the foundation of any actor's work.
@@Besties591 I like Tabu's work but she lacks confidence which shows up in most of her performances. Her recent works have been better. She seems to have found herself instead of trying hard to fit into a structure.
For those who are wondering, this is NOT a remake or adaptation of Mare Of Easttown. It belongs to the same genre and has a female protagonist.. other than that, there is no similarity. Just like Sholay belongs to the Western Spaghetti genre of Hollywood.. but is not a remake of any particular film. The film is an original piece of work.
@shaggydoo_76 Magnificent Seven was a Spaghetti Western. Also, Sholay was inspired by that genre's other movies as well, such as Mackenna's Gold, Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid, Dollars Trilogy etc. Sholay started the whole 'Spaghetti Curry' genre of India which was inspired by the Spaghetti Western.
Its not a remake but the way she acted in a movie looks inspired by kate winslet. And most of reviewers are saying it is quite boring. Jammy interviewed her. So he is just being biases here.
@@screensafari17Reviewers are saying irs boring yet its holding around 8.0 on IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes review is promising. You probably didn't bother reading reviews in English.
I don't think the indian audience gives Kareena the appreciation and admiration she deserves. She has been a top leading actress for more than 20 years. It is an exceptional achievement no other female actress could achieve. And she's still ruling! The fact that the same actor who palyed caracters like Geet and Poo and made them immortal is now doing caracters like Maya and Jasmeet recently with so much conviction and subtlety makes it even more impressive. Her range has no boundries. Forever the queen of Bollywood to me.
Because although talented her movies didn’t become big successes until she started to piggyback on salman, Amir SRK ajay devgn and akshay kumar’s stardkm.. thats how she pushed through and it’s easy for her to be relevant she is still in the Bollywood gang circle of kjo and his friends.
@@Besties591 the Bollywood circle argument is ridiculous when a lot of people have that access but absolutely no female actress has her longevity, not even close. And she's not the only one who had several movies opposite the big stars, all her contemporaries did. Her earlier movies which people usually use to drag her didn't work bc of the content and her acting was over the top bc that was her brief (she always says she's a director's actor), it was the Poo impact at the time. Like her or not, she managed to be a top actress for more than two decades and remain relevant despite having films not work at many turns. Many actors/ actresses had the nepo privilege but they're nowhere to see now. It's also funny how people use that as the only explantion for her relevance and completely ignore that she had two of the most impactful female roles in the history of indian cinema (Poo and Geet) and that maybe just maybe these roles were a factor to her reign all these years
@Sunshine-rx2ub being relevant is also about giving solo hits...fake social media stardom and hype...does not mean being relevant..this films disastrous opening actually proves...that audience is definitely not interested in watching her...and she is not relevant...she is just made to look relevant on social media...by her chamchas and fans..and bias critics
@@partha7211 be serious, what solo hits are you talking about? She's been a commercial cinema girlie since the beginning and while she had her fair share of impactful rules (Poo, Geet, Chameli, Omkara, Bodyguard...), she hasn't ventured into the "women oriented" cinema that much but whenever she did it was a success. Veeri Di wedding's whole marketing strategy was kkk's first movie after delivery and we all know how well it opened and how successful it was despite the poor critical reception, crew benefitted a lot from Kareena's name and is a certified hit, heroine opened to a big number and while people use it to drag her it was a success despite people not liking the movie (57 crores on a budget of 35). Jaane Jaan was an OTT released and it was the biggest opening weekend viewership for an Indian film that week, it was the most-watched Indian film in the second half of 2023 and the year's most-viewed Indian film on Netflix in terms of global viewing hours. Coming to this movie, it's a 80% English movie with zero promotion and a limited release. Not even a single interview so don't even start. We don't even know how well (or not) it will do in the coming days. PS: like her or not she's still relevant enough to you to watch her movie reviews and check her movie's box office collection on the first day
@Sunshine-rx2ub lol...once again the same old nonsense...social media hype...crew and veere di wedding were not solo hits....so please stop talking nonsense...and stop creating fake social media...hype.. on ott literally all films are hits these days...that doesn't prove stardom....and the same people did not come to watch her new film..
Kareena Kapoor is my favourite bollywood actress since childhood. She feels like a star, has that aura and charisma no other actress has in industry. Or maybe i am just biased because of nostalgia with her. She was in every other film i loved in childhood like Jab we met, 3 Idiots, Bodyguard and Ra-One with all the superstars lol. But she is a brilliant actress, she was the only reason i loved crew to certain extent. ❤️
In recent times she is actually the one pushing the boundaries more than Tabu and vidya in Bollywood. Her acting range is really evolving in all aspect. It might be a shock to some people but it's actually true
Showing range is good but plz can we not do this whole the more dark movie we love the more depth we have as viewers who h is considered more impressive than watchi g commercial cinemas. We are living in dark times already so in terms of cinema watching can we also do commercial movies and not put down for having no class or taste for favouring commercial movies
@@iftyhuq4321 Agree about Vidya, but Tabu is constantly doing great work, heck she is the only actress from the 90s that still has multiple releases in a year.

from September 2023 to September 2024 within a yaar Kareena played three different roles and she portrayed each one of them so perfectly. after completing almost 25 years in Bollywood as a leading actress she continuously doing so many different characters and enriching Har career graph so well. from a mother who murdered her on husband to saves her daughter in jaane jaan to a glamours air hostess in crew who lives her life in her own way and now the Buckingham murders where investigating a Murder dealing with her personal loss. the way she is choosing her script now and nailing each one of them is truly appreciatable.👏❤️
@@Guds_06 i didn’t give any spoilers. What i said that was shown in the trailer itself. Actually Jaane Jaan doesn’t follow whodunnit format. Kind of drishyam type where the criminal is clearly shown from the beginning. Hope you understand
A nepo kid that can act for sure. Kareena and Ranbir are really carrying the Kapoor name fwd in the industry. At this point I just feel proud to be Kareena's fan since Refugee. Throughout the ups and downs in her career, she has always been a good actor. She's embracing her age and has come a long way. She's much better than her contemporaries.
The thing which makes Kareena Kapoor still a fresh breath on screen after 20 years and being in her 40s is her shear honest dream to be an actor , not star, not the next karishma Kapoor , not the old gen Alia Bhatt but an actor . No matter what role is does but there is that new actor kind of excitement you see in her that how much she wants to be in front of camera and unlike Akshay Kumar or Salman khan she have not taken her stardom or job lightly as she have never been in her comfort zone. Yes her being a Kapoor helps but the choices of her movies is to be appreciated, she have worked with Karan Johar to Madhur Bhandarkar , she is open to any role … I watched this movie after your review and my god how good Kareena was in this role , her acting in the first few seconds when the movie starts is outstanding ❤, she have done iconic role like poo and Geet but she move on very fast , and then grab something like Chameli, taalash, Jane ja and that’s why she is still a charm to see on screen ❤ you can never get tired of her
Kareena has become very good at displaying pain as a mom. All the parts in "Jaane Jaan" where she was concerned for her daughter were also fabulous. I have always liked her as an actress. However, her choices used to be dictated more by the lead actors than the story/script itself till few years back.
Kareena kapoor is a great actress... She is so versatile ..she has done so many different kind of roles and she absolutely lived those roles... Talash, Heroine, Jab we met, chori chori chupke chupke... The charecters were all so different and she nailed all of them.
Kareena always used to do different kind of roles even back when the ladies were mostly for flowerpot roles, she was too but she still did different things.
Wow no the bad for this movie only the good. Kareena day by day is just getting better and better. I enjoyed her work in both jaane jaan and crew more than the movies. I will watch this one as well for her
Kareena Kapoor has time and again proved her acting skills. Her ability to show a strong character, so expressive. Her performance in Jaane Jaan was so impressove❤
Nepotism cannot be attached to Kareena! She had always brought originality and she had an inherent star quality. Same applies for Kajol and Rani. But the Alia and the rest an entire generation have grown up on kareena’s poo character and wanting to be her and hence lack originality and naturalness. Poo was an extension of Kareena’s personality. Same thing with sonam for whatever it’s worth she was an original and authentic to herself! ! But Alia till date copies kareena on and off screen, expressions way of talking. She lacks the inherent natural talent but somehow PR was able to hype her up despite the lack of looks and star quality. .. but now audience are too aware and are rejecting the new brigade of Nepo kids who don’t want to act but wanting to be poo on screen.
Kareena Kapoor is the best a actress today.. From Refugee to Chameli and from Omkara to Jab we Met, she is not one of the best but the best actress today
Unpopular opinion: People will not go out and watch this movie in spite of its merits and would rather prefer watching such good solid movies on OTT platform
Curious to know why you felt it was so essential to spend your precious time writing this down! Did doing so help you cure cancer or make a massive difference in your life? Sad!
Kareena Kapoor has already cemented her status as one of the greatest actresses of modern times, years ago. The way she is navigating her career now is just amazing and something to be awed by.
Kareena undoubtedly is one of the refined actors but some credit is due to her stars too, there are only few who manage to get what they want and what works again not to under mine her skills
This is a calm thriller in the vein of Along came a Spider. There are literally no takers for such movies in the theatrical space. While this is not "art house" limited release we call in the west but belongs to that category. Felt this should have gone straight to steaming.
Mare Of Easttown is one of the greatest shows in recent times. I would seriously respect a Gen Z person who can sit through and appreciate slow paced gems like Breaking Bad, Unbelievable, Mare Of Easttown. Social media has already done enough damage to the people's attention spans.

My favourite heroine in my favourite film genre ❤️ Kareena Kapoor Khan commencing her 25th year in films as Jass Bhamra with The Buckingham Murders is sheer brilliance. What a stellar performance! A phenomenal cinematic portrayal of agony and resilience by beboo. Melancholy has a muse in #KareenaKapoorKhan. Stripped off all her effervescence, one of the most vibrant forces of silver screen transforms into a sublime portrait of sadness in Hansal Mehta’s masterpiece. As the leading lady of this unconventional crime thriller, she is simply heartbreakingly incandescent ❤
Kareena is againg like fine wine she was truly fantabulous actually it is more of study in complex human relationships than an outright thriller. Hansal did a good job in intermingling various social issues holding a mirror to society as he always does
Sorry sir can you use normal English plz. No one is English honours here. No need to take movies so seriously. They are meant for entertainment. Go watch news if you want realistic.
I always thought of the same exact thing since ever. Kareena always had that hidden potential in acting, and yet she chose to remain “mainstream” and never experimented. Given her power and influence, she could have done much better.
Kareena kapoor after marriage has made so good choices ,she is going under appreciated....she is doing movies with actual scripts and not masala, jugaad movies...
If you loved Kareena in Jab We Met, Omkara, Chameli, Udta Punjab, Yuva, 3 Idiots, Jane Jaan and even the annoying version called Poo in K3G then watch this. ❤❤
I like Kareena more now as an actress than when she was at her fame peak. Abhi asli acting genes dikh rahe hain. Sure she was a part of movies like Dev, Chameli, Omkara, Heroine... even her debut Refugee and her comparatively recent movie Talaash; but in a way it was like she has talent but people won't watch those films... hence be a loudmouth, focus on the glam... like how Tripti Dimri is doing now. Commercial image and income ek jagah hai aur personal preferences ek jagah. One needs to be able to get to that position first. I never understood why many in my friends group were so fond of her as I only saw overuse of glam. If you think beauty+acting, Tabu was always a better choice through the ages I have grown up in.. but she also had a "strictly commercial" phase. The trailer and reviews of Jaane Jaan were interesting and though she was active as a radio / podcast host for a long time after settling in family life... on watching that movie I realised she is now better as an actress. So whatever the future holda from then on, at least she will be admirable as an actress now and not as the star of "10 looks from the actress to flaunt" just like a certain someone is the most popular star of "guess who" videos by paparazzi
Because now she has grown over the time. Some to act an emotion you first have to experience, and experience comes by the time only. There is no shortcut for that.
She did Omkara, Asoka, Qurbaan, Dev, Udta Punjab, Heroine during her prime. But these films were not commercial hit, and we all know her for commercial hits.
I just watched it and I LOVED Kareena! She was so powerful and yet had her aura of THE KAREENA KAPOOR! And I loved that the movie wasn’t not that long.
if you watch this video in 2x speed the eyes in some shots of the actors seem to move, its a bit creepy. Am i the only one who noticed that or is there anyone else?
The way she shifted her eyes to stare at me gave me chills. I was even reluctant to ask if anyone else noticed it. Good to know I was not the only one 😅
Its so refreshing to see Kareena 's botox and filler free face in today's times where almost every 40 plus heroine is doing botox.Kareena truly has totally reinvented herself in recent times
When the poster first dropped last year it made me feel like I was in for a Hindi version of Olivia Coleman’s Broadchurch. One of My favourite shows has been slow horses and only Hansal Mehta can do it justice if it ever got green kit for Hindi audiences . Not sure how regular audiences will like this super niche movie but I Went for the 10:05 AM Hinglish show and was blown away by how British in its syntax the movie was - understated yet high on drama . The subtle nuance that often lacks in Hindi cinema was a breath of fresh air indeed . Kareena, alia and Ranbir have proven that they’re the black sheep of the nepo tag not applying to them. In the older generation that pass can be given to sanjay dutt who wasn’t a typical nepo baby either and it bugs “anti monarchists” no end (as it delights me to see them squirm) that how do two privileged “brats” bring emotion they haven’t experienced in their real life and that busts the myth of actors having to struggle on the railway platform to bring hard hitting emotions. Hansal Mehta could have easily made this a Netflix series too and imagine bringing Ranbir in too as a power packed sibling show. Both gentleman and bodyguard can be made into Hindi adaptations provided we have a capable director . The chef was brilliant I agree!
That’s a very interesting experiment film makers are doing. Thanks for bringing this to light. So many good films should be released again for its theatrical experience. Ultimately one wants to watch a good movie in theatres. I would happily rewatch some good ones.
I convinced my friends to watch this movie a couple weeks ago and i am so glad i did. Even though the story may not look perfectly executed in some of the angles, the cast takes it upto a different level. Kareena and Mr Brar killed it, it looks so effortlessly done in my personal opinion. I am someone who struggles to see actors characters on screen, i feel like mostly their celebrity/actual personality shows through the screen but here i was amazed that not even a single scene made me realise that this is Kareena Kapoor Khan or a master Chef that i am watching. Kareena is not given the credit she deserves for actually doing her job so well. Her range as an actress is often limited by the people but she proves otherwise. It is a one time watch movie, but one should definitely tune in if they get the chance to.
Dev 2004 seems to be a movie where Kareena send the signal to audience that she is not here to be a typical privileged nepo kid. Not it's a million dollar question, what if Preity Zinta did the role in Jab We Met, but I must say that though for Jab We Met Preity suited better according to her looks and attitude but Kareena stole the show and put an end to all the question marks. Definitely going to watch this.
What is so creepy? I don’t see anything strange.. and I also don’t see any Botox in her like how someone commented. You clearly could see natural mature skin, which made her look naturally beautiful
I think a lot of people including jammy would agree to this...Hansal Mehta has to be one of the boldest director out there in Indian cinema currently. He directs these political and religiously sensitive matters so on to the point without putting a biased lens to it that makes it such a compelling and realistic watch. Also adding another note many directors need to learn from what hansal does one thing really well balance between personal life of character and their work Shahid is solid example too and this movie proves it yet again!! I think more people need to support these types of original movies in theatre rather than waiting at home for it to release on ott!!
She is a smart individual who understands the need of the hour and makes choices accordingly.. there are girls like Kiara and Tripti who can do the Kareena wannabe roles now
Yes @TriedRefusedProductions. Well-written and tight-paced police procedural with the right balance of emotions. The emotional trajectory of a grieving mother who is also a cop is superbly portrayed by Kareena Kapoor. She is ably aided by the supporting cast members.

first time????? insane.
Absolutely.. She has played versatile charecters.... Talash, heroine, jab we met..
True.. the music industry should be different making their music while the movies could be solely focused on content and performance of actors
@@RuplinaBhowmik You didn't even read my whole comment.
Ya btw the film is boring, people who are exposed to international content will sleep halfway
Very very true she didn't take a break after marriage and kids. A few months here n there but not years. She has done some excellent work
Kareena's Jaane Jaan, then Crew, and now this!
Tabu is even more successful unfortunately she doesn’t have a hyper PR team
Yea. Definitely love that about her
Yeah, I really love this thing about her ...
What a blasphemy mister. You watched a female centric movie. Aren't women supposed to lick your shoes and all.
Sholay was indeed inspired by Magnificent Seven which was inspired by Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai which indeed was not a Spaghetti Western!! 😌
Really hope Kareena keeps her looks and her work the same. Girls need role models who look their age and are happy. Love her
Kareena Kapoor is my favourite bollywood actress since childhood. ❤️
Kareena showing her range this year. Very entertaining in Crew & now this very different version. Looking forward to this.
But when has she not. People like her have worked hard.. used the privilege she had to do some amazing work. Much respect to her!

Finally, Kareena is ready to give justice to the talent she possesses.

A phenomenal cinematic portrayal of agony and resilience by beboo. Melancholy has a muse in #KareenaKapoorKhan.
