IT IS BETTER TO DIE FOR THE EMPEROR THAN TO LOVE FOR YOURSELF!” And before the teeming hordes of vile traitors can even react, the captain comends his soul, his men, and his vessel to the emperor in a final explosive ramming attack.
I've done that one to many times in Battlefleet Gothic. I've cherished every vessel and made sure each crew and captain has been given a good death in the Emperors name!

I wouldn't mind playing a MR Warhammer 40k game in the future(if they ever make one), onboard a battleship, fighting against the heretics, xeno or chaos space marines as they board the ship. It's one thing to watch a video and feel goosebumps. It's completely another to actually be there, as a captain, a crewman, an admiral, techpriest, marine and fighting side by side solo with NPC's or online with other people, on both sides.

A faithful adaptation would likely be too niche to make the scale of profits a studio would want to justify the vast expense of doing the setting justice, and a compromised version designed to have broader mainstream appeal would be the vilest Heresy imaginable, and would irrecoverably alienate the existing fanbase.
@@zuty213yeet8 40K definitely lends itself to a horror movie as an IP; there is certainly no shortage of candidates for a monster or slasher type antagonist in 40K's rogues gallery. With that said, the problem remains that doing the setting justice and properly conveying essentially any of the possible factions or creatures you would need to depict for even a very tight and claustrophobic horror story in the 40K universe would still be hugely expensive, and horror movies are still a fairly niche genre compared to the big 'four quarter' block buster titles with wide appeal across several demographic groups, and so rarely make the sort of returns that would justify that expense in the minds of the studio. Here's hoping Henry Cavill and co. will find a way to walk this tightrope with the forthcoming Warhammer 40K adaptation.

I pray to god that Henry Cavils adaptation takes into account the sheer scope of 40k. Starting the show with a scene of an impreium space battle over a planet that pans down to the full scale of battle on the ground would be amazing. He's a big custodes fan, so he could even make that the battle of Terra during the HH.

I feel like the British accents really make the Imperium, when I think of an Imperium i think of Britain not America, that being said I think the different Armies sound good with their various British accents, the Posh Eldar, the London Orks, even the sort of feral eloquent accent of the Chaos marines. I don't know why, I just think it sounds great all around and so much less cheesy than if it were American, like Vance Stubbs from Soulstorm, just sounded terrible. Not a knock on Americans, just saying I prefer the Brits.
Because you have been taught that the British voice is the voice of empire, aristocracy, etc. Also American english is super relaxed. Far less formal. Its more a polygot workmans language.
It is a British IP (some of the humour and general oddness seeded throughout the 40K universe and lore is extremely British), so it makes sense that British accents would seem to fit especially well in that setting. That said, some parts of the 40K setting are almost self consciously non-British. Whenever I think of a Catachan, I imagine either an American or Australian accent, for instance.
