the chord at 13:08 is so beautiful, the trumpets/cornets are slightly scattered right beforehand and then they come together for that perfectly tuned chord it's so good
Hearing this piece played by an ensemble from the "Birmingham Conservatoire" .... prods memories of the 1970s and 80s of their ancestors .... another group of commited brass students from the very same institution which as "Birminham School of Music" wasn't simply an ad hoc group put together for a concert but ended up staying together and becoming a serious force in English banding after they were promoted to the brass band Championship Section in 1978. The group subsequently became known as the Jones and Crossland band after receiving sponsorship from the Birmingham music shop.
