How to Highlight Text on a PDF in Preview on Mac

- Do you need to highlight text on a PDF or other image, using Preview on Mac?
Well this is the tutorial for you.
We quickly and easily breakdown:
• How to highlight text on a PDF
• How to change the colour of the highlight in Preview
• How to remove the highlight from text on a PDF
This is a Mac only tutorial, as we are using the software Preview, which is preinstalled on all Mac devices by Apple.
So let's get straight into it!
Here are some written instructions, if you would like those as well.
Step 1. Open your PDF in Preview
Step 2. Select the highlight tool, on the top tool bar. It looks like a pen drawing a line.
Step 3. Adjust the colour and style of highlight to suit your need, by selecting the drop down.
Step 4. Click and drag your mouse over the text you want to highlight and it will be highlighted!

will this help if I screenshot on my Mac, turned that screenshot into a pdf? bc it seems simple but its just not working for me

Apple's got a weird idea of what a Stabilo yellow highlight colour should be. In addition, I've been trying for years to get the same yellow item/text select colour in Finder as in Preview and other apps, doesn't seem possible, even sent in a bug report about it. Thanks for vid, please excuse off-topic whinge.
I think Apple have no more designer now, how could they call "Orange" as "Yellow" ... What the hell....
what happens when you want to delete the highlighter but the control Z won't go back that far?
