    Another great episode Euan mate. Carbs cam up real nice, I thought of doing the same with the Black bowls & tops. The reason I bought my 1st junior hacksaw years ago was for the 'top tip'. And nice win on the tank & exhausts!! Awrabesht mate. 😉🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👍

    If I have a push, pull system and the carbs only have space for one, can I still use the carb with one cable only?

      You should be fine so long as the spring mechanism is still nice and firm. I'm not an expert, but I've done it before with no issues.

    theres a little tiny white plastic ring in my rebuild kit--one for each carb--and i have no idea where it goes

      Sounds to me like it goes on top of the main needle. So down the black plastic tube under the rubber vacuum diaphragm.

    Ewan, another nice video, not sure what driver bits you are using (i am assuming just philips), but you might find JIS screwdrivers or JIS bits will help you

    • @ShooglyShedMotors
      @ShooglyShedMotors  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did have a JIS at the start of this project but it shattered. I will definitely need to buy another!

    Nice work on those carbs! Looks like they were well stuck and you had issues with rounded screws and one that snapped (?) but nice to see you made it work. Strangely pleasant to see you putting it back together.
    Any particular reason you kept the different parts labelled to go back on the same carbs? Were they not interchangeable?

    • @ShooglyShedMotors
      @ShooglyShedMotors  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good question! I've heard it's good practise not to mix parts as they do bed in together to some degree. However, I did have to mix a few small parts as some were knackered. Best practise and all that!

      Hey, what specs/mesurment did you use on the floats?

  • @MarkOneMoto
    @MarkOneMoto 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wow, they look amazing!.. Can I send you mine for refurb please?!..😁.. How was the pilot jet?.. I ordered a rebuild kit but got sent the wrong one typically...then my pilot jets both looked a bit chewed on the slot so didn't want to damage them more, so I ended up just cleaning them with carb cleaner in situ...did you have any bother getting yours out?...love the black float bowls too by the way, atb, Mark

    • @ShooglyShedMotors
      @ShooglyShedMotors  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      3 came out fine, but one was chewed and seized! Ended up very carefully drilling it out which worked well. Just very slow and careful!!

    What year were these carbs?

  • @TheGorillaBiker
    @TheGorillaBiker 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    These could have been carbon copies of my cb500 carbs, crappy stuck crews and all!! If you ever want free ultrasonicing send them over! Just have to pay for postage and I'll sort the rest :)
    They are pristine now, very nice. Must order all the rebuild bits for my cb500 ones.
