Just a pro tip. Remove half shaft. Block hole with rag before cleaning, this stops dirt going in to axle tube

Just got myself a D2, had to do a front bearing because of the 3 amigos, rear bearing looks even easier!

Where did you find a complete rear hub assembly

Hi sorry for late reply, the whole unit is supplied by a few Landrover suppliers, ebay I a good place to start and then maybe go direct to the source. Thanks and good luck.

You used grease instead of Loctite 648 and have no leaks?

Thanks for that, I have to do this job today. Just a couple of questions, is that big nut torqued to "four white knuckles" and does Mrs WoodyBush know where her caravan cushion is?

Hi the nut is 490Nm and the cushion is actually off the sofa, do you think she will notice I've used it...
Hope this helps and good luck.

Hi, out of interest, what fault codes were shown when your 3 amigos reared their ugly head? My D2 is showing intermittent output and output too low on the left rear. I changed the sensor, but noticed the hub was was oily/ greasy inside the socket for the sensor where it picks up on the abs rotor, this was to no avail and I am wondering what my next move is.... Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Hi I had them pop up know and then over a period so decided to change all the ABS sensors however its worth checking the bearings as if there is wear the gap between the ring and sensor can change and affect the reading. Also the sensors are spaced off the ring so I would also check for rust or other interference.
Its a bit of a mind field so I suggest starting at one end and work your way round. Sensors are cheap enough so maybe change them all which will either highlight or eliminate parts.
      Don't recall the codes.
      Hope this helps.

Bloody hell, you use the same intro music as Mark Felton's history channel... I thought I'd clicked on the wrong video.

Sorry this is NOT rear wheel bearing renewal this is the whole hub renewal, the lazy mans way

This is the bearing of a D2 not a D1. D2 bearings are a sealed unit in the hub and are replaced as a whole, the D1 hub comes in many parts and the bearings can be replaced individually. Considering the time, work and effort I have put into my vehicles "Lazy" isn't justified.
