Because when you break it down into parts, the translation of each part often adds up to an overall translation that is a bit different. I'll probably do more breakdowns like these of comparatively lengthy sentences. I guess you can use "Ugly" to talk about yourself but rude to about another person. Is "Minikui" only for things other than appearance or also appearance? I had only ever heard of Busai.
I'll have to ask a native speaker, but now that you mention it, I don't think I've heard a person explicitly called 醜い. However, I have heard phrases like 醜い顔 (みにくい かお) "ugly face; disfigured face". So that is sort of describing a thing on a person...? ^_^

Pretty great breakdown, the way these clauses get concatenated in japanese is so unintuitive but so great when you start to get it
