CONTEXT: A kakak on TikTok posted a recipe video titled ‘Resepi Rasem Orang Melayu’. She added eggs and mushrooms into her rasam. Indians got a bit annoyed about the additions. Kakak did a live video angrily and asked Indians to calm down since they’re just “penumpangs” in Malaysia. 😱

Fantastic vid! Penumpang, pendatang, bukan Melayu/Cina/India, all that crap is tearing society apart. The vehemence shown by the "buat gadhu" lady is truly jarring and sad. Ignorance married with griecance politics and hard nationalism are now the new political movement in many parts of the world. In my tracels, I get a good view of thta in India, and China.
Malaysians are ever so lucky. We are born from different ethnic groups, and yet we have access to so many different cultures and languages rght at our door steps. We could do so much with these basics, and yet, some choose to be more Arab than the Arabs, more Chinese than the ancient mainlanders, and more Tamil than the Tamilians, to the exclusion of every other cultures or language or beliefs.
Keep up the good work and spread the spirit of the long forgotten Muhibbah.

For examples, being Indian in Malaysia my origin is not from any estates but in a town in Penang that is because my grandfather came here from India by himself and his wife which is my grandmother was born here. Even some of the people who think they are Malay were actually Javanese, bugis, sulawesi and Minangkabau who also originated form other place and were not so friendly with real Malays during medieval times unlike Indians who were friendlier with Malays. And r u sure that you are not descended from someone who immigrated to here also like our forefathers

I'm Pakistani which born and raised in MALAYSIA. I loved Malaysian cuisine no matter it came from Indian Chinese or Malay. Even my American husband loves the taste of Rasam. I for sure knows where it's originally came from 😃 salute you sister for voice out without prejudice ✌️

I'm proud that I'm 1🇲🇾 My Dad is Bugis + Teo Chew. My Mom is Kerala / Malbari + Banjar. My features looks like carbon copy of my Dad. Yeah Dad looks like a Chinese. What I inherited from my mom is eyelashes. Bulu mata lentik. But me and my Dad loves Indian food... Rasam, Chicken Curry, Fish Curry, Roti canai, wade, everything Indians, we love it!😍 My Mom complaints "Hari2 masak Kari, sampai periuk ni dah jemu masak Kari..." Know what my Dad said, "Sebab itulah saya kahwin dengan anak Mamak!" 😂🤣 There are no racism in Islam. We have to celebrate 1🇲🇾

I think, food crimes happens everywhere around the world. Even if you are part of the culture/the race, everyone cooks at different level, different recipies etc. There is no boundaries in cooking if you enjoying cooking and eating.
