If you think of it like a video game and Axel is the town of beginners, she stocks items that you would find at the end of the game. They are extremely powerful and expensive so they are useless or unaffordable to beginners
I dont think so, the main problem here is that the guy who makes these items is absurdly strong and kind of stupid, as we have seen in the movie. Yes, the items were made by a strong wizard, but the said wizard is also bad at making practical magic items. Used correctly, those items can actually make a real difference since they are still absurdly strong though.
The truth is that they are quite useless, like the pendant that if you receive a deadly attack, it will explode to protect the one you love, but the explosion is so strong that it will also eliminate the person you love.
The items are powerful made by Megumin’s dad who has the highest mana count (Megumin has the potential to be higher). He makes super powerful stuff but due to his crimson demon(chuni) blood he gives them quirks or backlash intentionally. That’s why their family can’t sell anything and why they are poor. Wiz is probably the only buyer they have (Vanir would be too in the future)
What I love about this show, that unlike a lot of other animes. These guys seem like genuine friends with each other, not just a bunch of tropes that happen to be traveling together.
In this episode Vanir said something (not in the reaction) that was the explanation for the second half of season 3. 😆 As a hint for those who know: Vanir said an important thing about demons and their attitude to contracts...
Still, given the choice of taking Wiz or taking Yunyun, take Wiz. Yunyun's already been there and doesn't have the best memories. (Arcanletia is prominent enough to be a commercial teleport destination from the Crimson Demon Village. As Megumin cannot function solo, Yunyun ended up escorting her when she left home and that was where they initially went. ...And you will be seeing the consequences of Megumin's stay.)
