When we launched our first joystick with Volvo Penta IPS, it was an unique innovation: a propulsion system controlled by a joystick. Today we offer joysticks for many types of boats. In this challenge we get two boats to complete two different courses in a race against time. (Psst, there’s a surprise in the end).

crazy that someone would spend x amount of money when you can do the same maneuver at the same speed with v-drives and there more reliable. never fail and always go the direction you tell it to.

I think both of them have the joystick system. If you look on Volvo Penta's website you will find a list of boat manufacturers who use the Volvo Penta IPS system.

I prefer just driving without joysticks they look like a lot of tare and ware on the gearbox and engine itself if u need a joystick u probably should practice a looot more before taking a boat like that out

Do not buy a boat with a Volvo penta motor. They are impossible to find anyone to fix. My boat has a rogue alarm that goes off and nobody can fix it.

@@VolvoPentaOfficial yes. Multiple Volvo certified dealers/ mechanics have attempted to fix what would seem to be an easy fix. Codes appear, items are fixed and alarm are still present. It’s extremely frustrating. Motor and boat relatively new with relatively low hours.
