I love how satisfying it remains to efficiently clear viruses far below your level. I mean, fighting the same Metaurs over and over is boring, but with some variation it's very fun. That's kind of an amazing aspect of this battle system, the ebbs and flows in challenge and the kind of challenge it is keep it pretty fresh, feels so good to draw OP chips or to make the most out of lesser ones.
I love that you did indeed proceed to spend an absolute ton of hours doing LPs of MMBN1 through 5 (at the time of this comment). I don't think I've ever had this level of dedication for anything in my life, I'm so impressed!!! Looking forward to you completing the entire series someday!
Nice to see you'll be doing MMBN2. I managed to beat the game but I think my selection of chips suck. Not to say I don't have good chips but I'm terrible at selecting ones that'll work best. Maybe after seeing how you go through it it'll give me some ideas.
It probably won't be too soon. I really want to do some non MM projects. I love MM, but I do want to get some other things on my channel, and MMBN games tend to take awhile.
seeing you play this has made me want to find the first game again, i never was able to beat it as a kid ( elecman level was to confusing back then) which makes me sad since I've beaten all the other BN games.
Took me a while to realize just how early you can go to the later internet areas, it really is just those tough viruses and challenges holding you back once you've gotten Sal's address, pretty funny to have visited Internet-16 long before 4 to 8. There's some cool goodies and tons of money over there, so it's worthwhile if you're strong and quick enough. You'll wanna revisit later for ghost Navis and eventually post-game, but if you're gonna 100%, you might just save yourself from having to farm a few chips later, and they can come in handy during the game. It also strikes me just how quickly you can max power and charge this way, especially if you get some lucky mystery data, it's kinda OP if you were already OP enough to get it done. This is a reason to maybe wait just a little before you go there, as you can start off with a zenny buffer so 1 trip gets you more PowerUps. Multiple trips from Dad's lab isn't a bad idea either, though, since it refreshes those mystery data spawns. This is also how I've personally farmed the 30 Metguard A's, except over in Net 1. Mayl's place has 2 mystery data immediately visible, so I tend to jack in from there, check top-right from her net access point, check top-left and if they're clear, it seems to mean there's more mystery data elsewhere. You can either hop back in and repeat or, how I do most of it, look for the other mystery data and maybe hop in and out some other access points to farm FireMan chips as you go, very early on. Definitely helps to consolidate these farms and start off with a decent chunk of it done, especially for the sake of pacing.
What happens if you happen to beat the game without saving at all? Would you be able to click continue? If so, would it just start you at the beginning of the game? (that would be somewhat funny seeing how you're gonna have crazy powerful chips for that mettaur tutorial)
I wonder what you think about this challenge that my nephew David is trying to do. He's trying to beat this game Buster Only. Though I've seen him use Recover Chips to heal. I don't think it's possible to beat the game without attack battle chips. Your thoughts, Roahm?
Indeed, up to this point, I got hit three times : FireMan, StoneMan rematch, and a Spooky2 near the end of the Waterworks. However, I do get hit a few times toward the end of the Undernet, so it's coming.
I think between ALL chips, the entire alphabet is covered, or at least close to it. But not by any one single chip. I think at most, a chip can have five codes.
Doing the surfer voice doesn't make you sound like a traditional surfer dude... it makes the Scottish aspect of your accent more pronounced, and makes you a surfer dude... a Scottish Srufer dude. Hell yeah.
Hey Roahm, I was trying to find all the chips to complete my Library, but I can't find any DumbCano2 (I guess that's its name) to which I could get the Hi-Cannon chip that I need. Any clues where I could find them? :o I've already looked everywhere and now that I'm looking for them, they seem to be vanishing. XD
I'm afraid I'm not really sure right off, it's been quite awhile since I've played this game, I'm afraid I don't really have a solid, permanent knowledge of what viruses are where ^_^; All I can really recommend is checking virus listings or such on GameFAQs, that's what I usually use as my go to source.
RoahmMythril Ah, it's not a problem! I might keep on following the gameplay too in case it pops up in any virus encounter, regardless! :) Thanks, anyway! And keep up with the amazing work!
Maybe, but I don't know valley girls to say "dude" and "groovy" and such. Valley girls more call to mind "like, totally!" and such. Plus it's not helped how the girl's eyes are like always half-lidded, makes her look more surfer / hippie type X)
Eh, it's video game property rights. Like in an RPG, entering someone's non-locked house and taking any treasure chests they happen to have lying around.

11 years later, you're still working on it. Good dragon.
Tru
I'm probably the only person who was keeping count, but you took exactly 3 hits throughout the whole run. Way to go. :P

I don't know how soon. It will probably be awhile before I do another major MMBN LP.
Yeah, definitely was good later games brought in Break/Crush attribute. Also, I don't think it was so much surfer, as she was more a valley girl.
How do you mean? I usually just play the default game when I do LPs to give a clearer idea of what the game is really like.

Do they go through the entire alphabet with the chips?
There is actually a HeroSword in BN1 as well, it does 200 damage, compared to KnightSword's 150.

i remember now XD i did chip grind once it was on metalman and i believe my progress with that was only the standard metalman unfotuanetly
I was keeping count to. I only recall 2 hits, so I might of missed one though.
I had too much fun with that voice X)
What is this patch, anyway?
Yay, stuff I haven't seen yet! It's so exciting :D
No worries, it was a fun project ;)
argh... What is the main theme a variation of?!?
great my game doesn't want me to kill the LifeVirus!! i was jacking in and all of a sudden the lifevirus died without meeting him
Surfer girl rocks.
Wow four football interruptions in less than 30 seconds video time. I'd never had this kind of problem before.
so knightsword is like herosword in battlenetwork3
5:52-5:58
did a kid with rollerskates just keep up with a car?
A CAR?
i hope it was going like 15mph
@milesthumbsprower It was more due to time restraints then general laziness.
Donkey Kong Country 2 reference in the video title?
TheMartianGeek Unintentional if so.
It is. Unintentional, but it is a reference to it.
Maybe, but I don't know valley girls to say "dude" and "groovy" and such. Valley girls more call to mind "like, totally!" and such. Plus it's not helped how the girl's eyes are like always half-lidded, makes her look more surfer / hippie type X)
No, I don't recal them doing so.

08:33 Lets run without finding a random ciclotic clown
Eh, true.
I, like, think that was tewtally a valley girl.
@RoahmMythril There is soo much running in this game @-@
thats a bad point of view roahm...looking in someones desk...hmm a chip, dont really need it but its there so its mine
dude, you just gave her a program advance
A patch? No, only the real game.
