Untrap Subchips tend to not only be super cheap, but often pay themselves back in spades - they are 100% worth using if on the mid-game main networks, and especially so in late game areas like the UnderNet, where the mystery data can often have large amounts of Zenny attached. They additionally do not expire like SneakRun and LocEnemy do... it will last until you jack out, which just really adds even more to Untraps overall cost effectiveness.
And I’d just finished rewatching the series to refresh it in my mind! Welcome back, Battle Network 5! I think it says that for every bit of Mystery Data you get while using Untrap. But once you get to the tougher places, where it’s more likely mystery data will be viruses? Untrap starts basically paying for itself. Especially when you get to the Undernet, you can get some good prizes there from mystery data, but they’re also quite often viruses in disguise. Nothing quite as good at the area where it’s possible to get 3 lots of 50K Zenny from Green Mystery data that you can get in BN2, but still.
Battle Network 2 was so broken. Even the post game stuff where you use Untrap, you can save abuse near green mystery data and get the item you need like Fire/Aqua/Elec Blade chips * code.
Super happy whenever you upload these. I know big projects like this can be a drag. Personally, I've used your BN LPs as a source of comfort at times, and I come back for a full re-watch every now and then. Here's to a full 1-6 binge watch some time in 21XX. Cheers!
Slow Gauge is mostly (at least by me) used for making 1-turn liberations easier to get. However, it does have some good usage during PvP, especially if you are using a folder that is based around poison panels and/or poison pharaoh.
I always use slowguage on the liberation missions to make my turns longer. It relieves some of the pressure, but the usefulness can be hit or miss because there’s no guaranteeing you’ll get it during any of your three turns. And it’s got a pretty high number of megabytes, so it’s either impossible or very difficult to make your default chip.
It has some usefulness but it’s kinda unreliable, you won’t get great usage if your Navi’s charge shot is not good, Protoman and Knightman have really limited range, Numberman has great range but it’s a huge delay so you have to aim in the middle square and it’s a dive roll so you could do great damage or do almost nothing, Meddy has more consistent damage but less area of effect
@@LeMuDX Yeah, I used SloGauge with ShadoMan at times because of how OP his charge shot is (super spammable and he's invincible during it) but even then, I usually had better options to use instead.
IIRC, Untrap works as long as you're on the Internet. Once you jack out, the Untrap will deactivate. Untraps can be helpful when Zenny grinding. Slogauge is also REALLY helpful in the Liberation missions 'cause it gives you more time during your turns. Oh, and nice to see you jacking back into the network, Durgon. :3
Yeah, but unfortunately, Capcom also saw that and increased the MB rating of SloGauge so much that you can't set it as your regular chip here in BN5 even if you get all the RegUp items.
Slogauge is only useful if the Navi has a charge shot that can do damage consistently, Knightman can’t do anything with slo gauge if the enemy doesn’t come close enough, Numberman can get usage but it’s a literal dice roll for damage
Elec reel has a special secondary effect that isn't mentioned. After it hits an enemy/object it courses through adjacent enemies, usually directly behind or beside. It does lose some power when it spreads out, but it's still useful.
Does it? I never heard anything about it losing power. From what I've heard, how it works is it spreads out to adjacent objects/enemies, and then actually goes BACK and hits the original target. This actually means it can do ridiculous amounts of damage if you set it up right. It's usually hard to set up though.
16:15 "something's missing there, and I don't know what." It's either the comma's sense of direction or it's sense of timing. If you shift it one word later, the sentence makes sense. ("Better get some exercise in*,* ready for tomorrow.")
Slow gauge WOULD be amazing for Liberation missions, as the turn length is set to your custom gauge, which is why fast gauge and full cust should NEVER be used in Liberations, but there's a problem. Capcom thought of this, and made it's Memory value 69. Meaning it's impossible to set as a regular chip. This is the only game to do this.
I'll admit, it's been long enough that I truly appreciated the recap. Like, I remembered the gist, just not the most recent thing to happen. Praise the wisdom of the mighty durgon!
Welcome back! And woah, we left things on the apparently broken Chaos Unisons. This is going to be fun. And OUCH, I forgot about the "Colonel refuses to collect HP Memories while Mega Man's gone" mechanic. And now the pain is back. Aww, no "EEEEEEEEEVIL CHIP" in that description. This just in, Navi casually compares past relationships to terrorist organization. 5:25 Rock: "I lived." You'd think they could've given you skull gate access now, via Nebula forgetting to remove Mega Man's security clearance after you de-corrupted him. Sure fits their general intelligence level. 16:09 The comma's one word too soon, I think. 22:17 And this is why you always check feedback on sellers before you buy on Ebay! Suspicious Higsby? Maybe it's not Higsby, but the myth, the legend... NINJA TURNING INTO A HIGSBY!
Elecreel chip when it hits an enemy it will split up into a T shape As for ultrap subchip allows you to eliminate the virus hidden on Green mystery data on the net but it stop working once you left the net
Awww YEAH! the derg'n hath returned~ So nice to see you doing stuff more and more :3 Then again... I, too, know how real life and personal feelings can ruin one's determination and desires... Maybe we should get a lesson from Temmy in Detemnation? :3
I've seen Slow Gauge being used a fair bit in PvP. It's moreso to keep pressure on the opponent if you think they rely too much on certain chips, for example.
I don’t watch your other let’s plays because I’m usually not that much into let’s plays, but MMBN has a special place in my heart, and for the last year I’ve been checking every few weeks to see if there’s any mote videos, and when I checked today and saw you came back two weeks ago I got so hyped! The little kid in me is so excited right now
so...the hooded sorcerer guy... My brain immediately saw a frog head with a burning nose for some reason and i cant unsee it. The orb is the eye, the hood is an open mouth. WHY YOU DO THIS TO ME BRAIN!!
By the way, SlowGauge is a huge boon in Liberation Missions in particular. Since the Custom Gauge fills slower, you thus have more time to complete the round, possibly netting more of those vital 1-turners!
Yes Untrap is ABSOLUTELY helpful in the late game where virus data becomes more common. I've had it happen where EVERY GMD was a virus. Probably just bad RNG, but use untraps religiously after that.
Slogauge gives you more time in liberation mission battles since the custom screen comes up as soon as the gauge fills. Other than that it's mostly a multiplayer chip
Regarding the SloGuage chip, it gives you extra time in Liberation missions, making it easier to get 1-turn liberations. It's a hassle to swap it in and out, but it's not bad.
SloGauge is a big player in PvP. Especially in the games with SoulUnison or if your Buster is really buffed and theirs isn't. Also probably quite useful here in BN5 during Liberations since they have a time limit. It'll give yu more time to buster things to death before the liberation fails (and possibly more time for a one-turn liberate, too).
Dark Recovery is almost useless. It induces a strong HP Loss Bug if you use it, and in Team Colonel, it can't even be used for Chaos Unison because the Recovery-Type Soul is in Team Protoman.
Darkchip usage in general isn’t worth it, they all induce some weird bug and the final boss is literally immune to them, only reason to use them is chaos unison and for library completion
Untrap lasts until you Jack Out. If you don't have access to Roahm's Dragon Magic, I find the best way to grind is to go through the entire net with an Untrap active. Trapped data has better rewards than regular data.
Since the last episode, i had the time to watch 2 streamers discover and beat every single Megaman games. By the time you finish MMBN5, i will have died of old age. And by the time you finish Starforce 3, the heat death of the universe will happen.
Higsby and NumberMan suddenly having to abandon their current mission was such an uncomfortable scene, but hey: props to the writers for really nailing the embarrassing and cringeworthy nature of an important event being rescheduled due to conflicting commitments! :p
MegaMan.EXE gets angry and upset at Mr Durgeon for not playing his game for awhile and said: “Woah! How long has it been huh?! I was about to go see what Lan was up to.” 😠😡
Not sure if you found out, but the Django chip doesn't harm the Battle Mystery Data. You could just have the Solar boi nuke the field with SUNLIIGGGHT and the Mystery Data will remain unscathed.
slow gauge is more useful in multiplayer than it is in singleplayer. i'm no expert as i've never played the game, but that's what i've heard when talking with the guys in the MXGP server. gauge control is apparently a big deal.
Roahm... SloGauge is mostly used in PvP matches so yeah... so is AntiNavi, So is AntiRecov etc are also PvP. Static is used when bugged(more bugs the better result) GrabRevenge(and other one) is also PvP if you are into casual PvP Matches i can challenge you to a match if want. and i'll promise you... you'll dang sure will Rest In Peace(Mark The Undertaker Calloway)
WE ARE SO BACK

"BECOME ALMOST INVINCIBLE...!"
"...Indeed."
I love that exchange.
At long last, the prodigal son returns.
And I’d just finished rewatching the series to refresh it in my mind! Welcome back, Battle Network 5!

I've used his BN LP as a guide to 100% them myself when I emulated them on GBA. I'll be using them again for the BN Legacy Collection too
Full binge MMBN1-6 one day… can NOT wait until MMBN6!

I do the same thing

"And Viruses!"
Never realized how much I missed those words until now
Lowkey one of my fav series ever and I almost cried seein this again 🥺
16:15 "something's missing there, and I don't know what."
It's either the comma's sense of direction or it's sense of timing. If you shift it one word later, the sentence makes sense. ("Better get some exercise in*,* ready for tomorrow.")
Missing words and punctuation. Battle Network is more authentic representation of the internet than you’d think.
Well, I guess it's a nice memory value because of it's number...?
Back on the Battle Network grind!
14:44 - 15:09 - That was out of nowhere.
23:31 - 23:38 - It certainly is.
LETS GOOOOOOO!! Thank you so much for bringing the series back!!
So glad you’re back, the MMBN let’s play series has been something I’ve looked forward to for the past 15 years! Kind of insane.
I'll admit, it's been long enough that I truly appreciated the recap.
Like, I remembered the gist, just not the most recent thing to happen.
Praise the wisdom of the mighty durgon!

Now I've gotta watch all of the older videos to get back into it!

3:56 "...Now put me on a plane so I can put 'em in a hearse!"
Elecreel will bounce to adjacent objects/viruses in a plus pattern and bounce back to the original target for more damage.
We’re back baby
“Lan, where have you been? It’s been a year!”
Lan: I don’t wanna talk about it…
Jokes aside, glad to see this come back!
I don’t watch your other let’s plays because I’m usually not that much into let’s plays, but MMBN has a special place in my heart, and for the last year I’ve been checking every few weeks to see if there’s any mote videos, and when I checked today and saw you came back two weeks ago I got so hyped! Welcome back to the Network, Roahm! Looking forward to the hijinks we'll no doubt encounter on the internet!
so...the hooded sorcerer guy...
My brain immediately saw a frog head with a burning nose for some reason and i cant unsee it.
The orb is the eye, the hood is an open mouth. WHY YOU DO THIS TO ME BRAIN!!
That’s what I keep thinking too, only the “open mouth” resembled a bird’s open beak to me somehow
@RoahmMythril Love that you're back my Dragon. I will never unsub because i know it's only a matter of time.
Welcome back Roahm.
Good to see this series continuing I thought that you might’ve abandoned this project
Been watching ur videos for years I always come back I remember wen u started ur mmbn4 lp
Back to BN5 and man what a journey it was
By the way, SlowGauge is a huge boon in Liberation Missions in particular. Since the Custom Gauge fills slower, you thus have more time to complete the round, possibly netting more of those vital 1-turners!
6:40-6:41
Cactuars: "You will be..."
Yes Untrap is ABSOLUTELY helpful in the late game where virus data becomes more common. I've had it happen where EVERY GMD was a virus. Probably just bad RNG, but use untraps religiously after that.
How exactly do I feel nostalgic for this specific series? Either way, we are back!
Slogauge gives you more time in liberation mission battles since the custom screen comes up as soon as the gauge fills. Other than that it's mostly a multiplayer chip
Battle Network 5 is back!
The Return of the King!
It's nice to see that the translation issues have all shown up to welcome us back.
After 83 years, we are back.
LET'S GOOOOOOOOOO!
Doesn't help that even in the Double Team DS, you still had to leave the HP memory behind instead of storing them or something....
Regarding the SloGuage chip, it gives you extra time in Liberation missions, making it easier to get 1-turn liberations. It's a hassle to swap it in and out, but it's not bad.
Honestly did a spit-take seeing this in my sub list again.
the battle network has finally returned!
Long time no see! Excited to see the series come back!
Unlike SneakRun, Untraps works until you jack out
Ooh damn its been so long, I dont remember how long.
Funny thing is I still vaguely recall where we left off. Still uhh
FINALLY, IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
idk if it's the case in BN5, but I know in BN6 trapped data has a different loot table than non trapped data
"In ready for tomorrow" should be "in preperation for tomorrow" i think
Dark Recovery is almost useless. It induces a strong HP Loss Bug if you use it, and in Team Colonel, it can't even be used for Chaos Unison because the Recovery-Type Soul is in Team Protoman.
Darkchip usage in general isn’t worth it, they all induce some weird bug and the final boss is literally immune to them, only reason to use them is chaos unison and for library completion
It has been 3000 years since the last upload 😢
Welcome back, Mr. Durgon. 😎
HOLY SHIT! MMBN5 IS BACK!
I always imagine Slogauge is meant for multiplayer battles? Like if your opponent relies on chips too much you can delay their access to more?
Woohoo mmbn back. Welcome back roahm
Untrap lasts until you Jack Out. If you don't have access to Roahm's Dragon Magic, I find the best way to grind is to go through the entire net with an Untrap active. Trapped data has better rewards than regular data.

Not sure if it's just because it's been a while but does the game footage seem sped up?
Did you fight larkman yet? i cant remember if you did yet. Since im pretty sure you can do that now
Yesss you’re back!!!
Man I miss BN3’s Elemental Sonic Boom as well now that you mention it.
Also Dark Wideshot is my favorite Darkchip for Chaos Unison.
Wait we already have Mega back. Wow it has been a long time
my gods the dream is real
It was my birthday when you put out those videos so thank you very much even though this is just another random day for you It feels special to me
It's time to rewatch the first 44 parts, I'll BE BACK
Higsby and NumberMan suddenly having to abandon their current mission was such an uncomfortable scene, but hey: props to the writers for really nailing the embarrassing and cringeworthy nature of an important event being rescheduled due to conflicting commitments! :p
WOOOO! So excited!!!
MegaMan.EXE gets angry and upset at Mr Durgeon for not playing his game for awhile and said: “Woah! How long has it been huh?! I was about to go see what Lan was up to.” 😠😡
He’s back !
Slow Gauge helps with liberations.
Number Man is so adorbs :3
It's back!!! :D
Untrap should last for one whole session iirc, so until you jack out
Not sure if you found out, but the Django chip doesn't harm the Battle Mystery Data.
You could just have the Solar boi nuke the field with SUNLIIGGGHT and the Mystery Data will remain unscathed.
Return of the GOAT
slow gauge is more useful in multiplayer than it is in singleplayer. i'm no expert as i've never played the game, but that's what i've heard when talking with the guys in the MXGP server. gauge control is apparently a big deal.
Hi roahm, I hope you're doing well today
THANK YOU SO MUCH❤
...durgon was a fan of Captain N?
Untraps last until you Jack out I think
So you’re taking a break from MAGMML3 to continue MMBN5…
For reasons I hope nobody’s told you yet, I find that hilarious.
Roahm... SloGauge is mostly used in PvP matches so yeah... so is AntiNavi, So is AntiRecov etc are also PvP. YAY
Why the gba version ?
Simply sake i guess
