Black and white advertising film "Mercedes-Benz Unimog in forestry operation" from 1953

The Unimog series 401, type U 25 is presented as a vehicle particularly suitable for forestry due to its versatility.
At the beginning of the film, features and advantages (powerful engine, loading platform, comfortable cab, four-wheel drive and differential locks, compressed air system, three power take-offs) are shown.
The following applications of the U 25 are presented: Backing of particularly heavy logs, grinding of logs, logging in high mountains, transport of plywood, removal of long logs, transport tasks, soil cultivation, pest control as well as the use of various attachments.

Schöner Film aus Zeiten in denen die Maschinen noch klein und die Bäume richtig groß waren. Heute werden kleine Bäume mit Riesenharvestern umgeschnitten 😂

Schon interessant, mit welch geringer Motorleistung früher große Stämme und Fuhren bewegt wurden. Die Hilfsmittel dazu waren ja entsprechend ausgeklügelt.
