Was leaning towards 6a because on paper it wasn't that bigger than 5 and I like the design a bit more, but after watching the video, it's noticeably bigger. On top of that, Pixel 5 is a flagship, 90hz display, Gorilla glass 6, wireless charging, better ultra-wide camera. Ordering Pixel 5 right now.

Just ordered a refurbished Pixel 5 for $100 less than a new Pixel 6a. The wireless charging, 90 hz and small, even bevels tipped the balance for me.
@@Tommy-qe6fh I do not know how you can say that a processor does not make a phone a flagship this phone has wireless charging 90 Hertz refresh rate it has eight digs of RAM and it has everything a flagship phone has to offer you cannot say that about this Pixel 6 affordable series now can you
P6a only wins for it's chipset(battery almost on par for both). P5: Size, less weight, 8g ram, HDR support, faster fingerprint, screen to body ratio, Gorilla glass 6, wireless charging & reverse WC, 16mp ultra wide, 90hz refresh rate, better IP68 & price(used set).
Vouch for Pixel 5 I have using this little beast since 10 months and its the best size phone. I purchased it after selling my heavy weight champ Pixel 6 and I think it was the best decision
I will keep my 5 for a while and see what 7 has to offer (but it is also a bigger phone ...); just feel like I am missing important features and not gaining enough with the 6A.
I much prefer the design (uniform bezels all around) and size of Pixel 5. But its two weaknesses, terrible speakers and bad video recording quality, have improved in Pixel 6a. I really dislike how both Pixel 7 and 7 Pro will be large phones. I’m so sick of large phones. Hopefully they’ll go back to having Pixel 8 and 8 XL. Both with top specs, only different sizes (like iPhone Pro and Pro Max).
Sold the 6a away to buy a project car, but when the chance came to get one again i picked the 5 over it. I like the 5 a little more. I didn't want to go back to the 6a's fingerprint scanner, i wanted the wireless charging and i wanted the 90hz display. I wish the 5 had stereo speakers though.
@@POTENTDOMAIN After that, you flash a custom rom! which will give you updates and security updates for years and years. I'm running android 13 on a pixel 2xl. pixel 5 owners have nothing to fear.
I just returned the 6a and am going to buy 5 instead. The 6a was really bad on screen quality, I compared it with my p4 side by side, p4 was much better than p6a.
In display Fingerprint scanner on the 6a is slow. Plus it's harder to hold. The pixel 5 is grippier, has basically the same display size but smaller form factor. More ram, better display and a fast fingerprint scanner on the back. Also, it's really light. 150g
and that is why I have just decided to buy one, even in 2023. Was gonna buy P7 but just was told from P7 user that there is nut much of a difference between the two in the camera department..What I really use is fingerprint scanner on the back and unlimited photo backup. Two dealbreakers for me, as an owner of 3a not willing to ditch because of these two features I value the most that 6's and 7' lack.
I would love 2 hear people's opinions on the corners of the screen being more rounded off. I really like the more square screen and look of the pixel 6a.
rounded corners make more sense for ease of handling, doesnt stick out in your pocket, but some prefer the classical sony squared off corners aesthetics.
I like a phone that won't fall out of my hand, so the rounded would be better - plus after you put a case on the 6a it must be really thick to protect the camera bump? I have a 4a and I don't want o go bigger - nerves in hand damaged I get numb holding heavier phones.
Important: If you have a Pixel 5 or earlier, you receive unlimited storage for photos and videos backed up from your device at no charge (Google Photos). 8 GB of RAM 90 Hz display Wireless charging
Thank you for this comparison. Going to wait for Amazon November Friday sale to see if I can get the 5 at an even more incredible price. I just love the physical fingerprint readers of pre-pixel 6 but who knows in 2 months time I might be swayed to the 6a camp. Right now watching lots of videos of compact phones with physical fingerprint readers.
Pixel 5 hands down. Still the best small Google phone. Size/usability, 90hz, HDR, perfect bezel-less screen, IP68, better battery life. Had the 6a and sold it. Unreliable fingerprint sensor, weak battery life, average screen, average performance. Solid for the price but too many compromises imo.
Been with android since pixel 2 Samsung S10 S20 now I am on pixel 5 it's time for me to go back to iOS . Google is not stable on updates the whole Google thing is like an experimental thing to me I don't feel I am part of something I don't know how to explain it.
Pixel 5 is better than 6a... design...light weight...handy... aluminium frame...ip68 rating... reverse charging and wireless charging...90hz refresh rate and support esim...
I’m considering getting a used Pixel. Upgrading from a Galaxy S8 where the charging port is now giving up. Do people still think it’s worth getting the 5 in 2022 or is it starting to show it’s age now with its processor? I prefer the shape and fingerprint sensor on the back compared to the 6. I was considering a Realme GT2 but they don’t seem to have great software support like all the other Chinese companies.
Nigga youd love your pixel 5 even if it was runnin android 12, still holdin on well even tho i got i used one two months after twas announced.. one shitty con is that its hard to operate in high temps (am from ksa) so it gets heated n some features stop workin temp. Dont make me start with how the fingerprint is not only more accurate than the new ones but also more comfy, like ur hand will rest there you'd feel like u just unlockd it with ur face id no cap
I have the exact same situation with the battery on my s8 giving up I'm gutted I love the way this phone feels but there's just no point replacing parts atp it has had a good run
I ordered a 6a, holded on my hand for 5 seconds...and immediately returned it back and bought an used Pixel 5. 6a is like a brick in your hand if you are looking for a handy phone, 60hz screen in 2022 is definitely useless, that plastic back, no wireless charging...very disappointed with this new release from G.
Why would you want a glass back and a huge camera bump thing sticking out the back ? I cannot use a phone with out at least a slim case - I would break it day 1.
Dude, are you an app clearer? That's an iPhone user and old people thing. You do realize doing that is detrimental to the performance of your phone right? Fkn hell.

Pixel 5 is for me… It’s an old model but still with Snapdragon vs Crappy Tensor (exynos pretty much) Physical finger print sensor vs Cheap on screen finger print sensor (not ultra sonic like Samsung)
Pixel 5 for me is better! The design makes it easier to hold than the rectangular Pixel 6a!

The pixel 5 size is perfect in my book. Easy 1 handed use. The 90hz is butter smooth them running side by side you will notice the 60hz on the 6a

I would like to point out that the 6A does not have a glass back, it's a "3D thermoformed composite back"
Aka fancy plastic
This guy usually gets a handful of details wrong. He should have clarified that it's a glasstic back
Glass on the back is a nice touch? For making your device break as soon as it drops, yes...

There is no significant upgrade. No 90hz or 120hz is a joke at that price.
The pixel 5 was $699 new with a slower processor, for $250 more it should of had a 90 hz and wireless charging.
