I've been animating in Flipaclip for 3 whole years, and this is actually pretty good! Although, as you mentioned, it takes way longer to animate in Flipaclip due to it being a frame by frame software. But apparently theres gonna be a MASSIVE update possibly later this year. And i can also confirm Flipaclip is very user friendly, i speak all this from experience. Also, quick tip: Click on the 3 dots in the top-right corner, then click frame viewer, you'll be able to select and copy/paste as many frames as you need too.

A helping tip: You can copy a part of a layer/object(like the mouths you were having trouble in 6:03 ) by clicking in the lasso tool next in copy and paste (the squares in the top,from left to right), you can paste it in another layers and frames! And by just clicking copy and paste you can copy the whole layer! I hope this works! In my most recent short i did an object animation with a smooth lip sync with 18 fps in flipaclip! Maybe seeing it can help you!
Btw if you make another animation, try turning on airplane mode to not have ads. Making the copying the same thing only once can be done by using the frame viewer, holding down on a frame, and then copy and pasting it. Hope this helps!

As a flipaclip used for 8 years here is when ads show up 1. Going to a different project *leaving the current one then going to work on another* 2. Opening the sound adjustment tab then closing it 3. Importing a image/sound 4. Playing your project then pausing it. Im pretty sure thats all as i havent been on flipaclip for some weeks now due to my ipad randomly stop working
I can explain the kinda lack of tweens, its cuz flipaclip started more as a "animation program to make animations similar to flipbooks or disney stuff" but now theyve developed more and more, and know its pretty much one of the most used animation apps for users, but yea i think flipaclip has a bunch to stuff to fix, but hey ive saw that "SUPER UPDATE" theyre gonna make at some point making it more similar to stuff like flash and toonsquid but keeping the fashion that made flipaclip unique, And i think i learned a bunch of atuff during the years of using it and i think it works pretty well (Also thanks you for having the chance of making osc tutorials on flipaclip thank you so good damn much X(| ) Anyways, cool video :D

5:58 flip a clip actually has it but its kinda different, you can go to the frame that has the recent mouth you need to use , then you select it with the tool below the eraser and which is the lasso tool, and you can select it and click

Hey booksketball, here is a tip. When shading, you can use this thing called alpha lock, alpha lock is a tool where you can draw only on the parts you've drawn on, this only works on depending what layer you're in, hope this helps!
Long time no talk lol I haven't watched the video yet but I'm curious to see how you'll handle using FlipaClip with how limited it is Really, with FlipaClip, the thing about it is trying to find techniques to work around its limitations. I've been using it for forever and I'd say my work is decent lmao EDIT: The thing that has always bothered me the most about FlipaClip is its lack of vector- meaning when you rotate or change the size of something, it'll become blurry. The way I combat this is to have my object asset as just the lineart and outlines of shading. After all the movements are done, I go over it and use the fill tool on every single frame, then copy and paste it a bunch of times until there's no more gaps between the colour and the lineart, and so it looks crisp. It's pretty time consuming and a whole lot of extra effort, but it has always made my animations look much nicer in the end.
It is pretty easy to animate limbless characters. You just take the asset you are working with, add a face, and there you go. Armless contestants are a little harder, you do that same process but you add legs at the bottom. Characters with full limbs (legs and arms) are hardest to animate because you have to move tons of limbs around.
(3:27) what did you mean by "copy the drawing 3 times"? did you mean you had to exactly trace the last frame, or did you use the frame copy and paster?
this is extremely unrelated but i love how you used helvetica for the text. its one of my favourite fonts! :) i personally dont use flipaclip, but this still helps for other frame by frame animation programs, so thank you!!! :D
While getting the hand of Adobe makes it one of the solidest Animation software, I use Procreate dreams. It works just as well as flipaclip, is ad-free, and the only paywall is the app itself. It has tracks, effects, and is basically if flipaclip and Adobe had a child. Because it’s basically as good as adobe although lacking symbols, but it’s mobile as well.
from a person who has used flipaclip for years, i know theres better animation softwares (but they're expensive) so flipaclip plus is the best option for me but yeah the more you do flipaclip and follow tutorials, the better result :D
Flipaclip is slowly killing its self, all they add now is just new brushes on new brushes instead of giving the fanbase what they want, thats why im switching to Toonsquid :P (I’ve been using FlipaClip for 3 years btw)

I'm someone who uses Flip-A-Clip to animate on occasion and has Flip-A-Clip Plus (I don't have a lot of examples on this channel), and I'll be leaving notes as I watch with the intent of helping future animators. ^^ 1. It sucks that the tools move with your screen. The symmetry tool just *can't* be locked in place, huh? Dunno how to fix it if there's a solution, but it's there and SO annoying. 2. I'm unsure which part is under the paywall here, but if it's the merging thing that's REALLY scummy. Eugh. 3. Changing the fps is so real. I think I can do 20 fps one time then get hit with how much I hate it.. 4. Audio paywall. That is SO scummy. Capitalism 👎 5. ANIMATIC!! I should do those more often. And onionskin is so important-- for any animating software. 6. I feel this is a good spot to put it.. If you go to the three dots, go to frames viewer, and tap and hold on a frame, it'll select it. There you can select other frames and/or copy and paste it! I imagine that'd make the animatic easier to do ^^ 7. ^^ ALTHOUGH this doesn't work for pasting onto frames already there. ☹ 8. they dropped a teaser for a new update a couple months back and they revealed being able to move the camera and draw outside the boarder, so i assume tweens might possibly get added, but i’m not too sure
fyi FlipaClip is basically a Digtal Flipbook because you're drawing in frames instead of papers its no surprise that there is no build-in tweening and extend drawings

I do actually understand how hard it is. It took me 2 days (I DID NOT STAY UP FOR ALL THAT TIME) to make my first "Stone Story rpg Adventures" series episode That's just how it is whenever people barely have any non touch screen experience, also how the hell do key frames work and all of the rest of the mumbo jumbo
I recomend taking a screenshot of the background and then in the project settings putting the background you made so you dont have to copy it in every frame

I don't use flipaclip much, but there is a setting to automatically create new frames instead of having to copy and paste it over and over again
You gotta hold down on the add frame button to see more options! Hope it helps

it's more like generating a smooth transition between two frames, like at 4:30 where i use them to make the character move up and down smoothly

i copy and pasted to make multiple copies of the 3 different drawings so that they'd last longer on screen
Extending the frames can be done much faster using the frames viewer, as it also has a copy and paste feature.

6. I feel this is a good spot to put it.. If you go to the three dots, go to frames viewer, and tap and hold on a frame, it'll select it. There you can select other frames and/or copy and paste it! I imagine that'd make the animatic easier to do ^^

they dropped a teaser for a new update a couple months back and they revealed being able to move the camera and draw outside the boarder, so i assume tweens might possibly get added, but i’m not too sure

fyi FlipaClip is basically a Digtal Flipbook because you're drawing in frames instead of papers

I do actually understand how hard it is. It took me 2 days (I DID NOT STAY UP FOR ALL THAT TIME) to make my first "Stone Story rpg Adventures" series episode
That's just how it is whenever people barely have any non touch screen experience, also how the hell do key frames work and all of the rest of the mumbo jumbo
I recomend taking a screenshot of the background and then in the project settings putting the background you made so you dont have to copy it in every frame

funfact:if you hold the plus frame button enough it will show you some options its better to click the copy frame button to make animationa much more easier!!
Pro tip from a flipaclip user (me): add layers and use alpha lock so u dont have to delete the colors outside the outline over and over again
