Maybe you wont be a Michelin Star chef, but having the mentality for learning what truly is good food and why it is good is very crucial. The industry is super hard and most of the time it is not about quality, but how many customers you can serve. What a friendly, humble man. One of the strange things about life, I've found, is that the people who stand at the pinnacle of their craft don't usually have huge egos. Egos get in the way of top performance. Top performers just love what they do, and have nothing they need to prove. They're really pleasant people to be around.
My gf and I had the pleasure of dining at JG's flagship in NYC last year. Whenever I eat at a "high end" restaurant I can never honestly say it was worth it. Great to watch
"Your cooking is perfect, mine too" What a funny and nice guy.
Jean-George is such a nice guy. I've seen his video published by Eater quite a few times and it really reflects the mans personality! Such a humble and outgoing chef.
The chemistry between you too is so good so funny seeing you teach, compliment, tease and just talking is so entertaining and genuine
This entire video was so wholesome. Jean is such a nice guy! Wow!
This is what I enjoy from Josh - not necessarily competition, but technique with tools and with the food itself.
What a nice guy this one. And such a nice collab. You can tell this chef has class when he is being so nice to papa. That's respect.
This is one of your best videos yet! It was nice seeing to PRO'S competing yet respectful and encouraging. Perfect Show. keep more like this coming. Thank You for your consistent GREAT CONTENT!!!!!
This is easily one of my favorite videos Josh has ever made!!!!
I’m so happy you included the crew as judges♥️
So happy to see you sharing the spotlight Josh
A good leader
this might be my favourite video from josh. Jean seems like such a nice person and god what an amazing chef. Also everyone involved seemed to have tons of fun during it as well!
Thanks to jean for making this video possible!!
Chef is a chill dude. I don’t even think he’s in any way upset in loosing, and just has pride and joy for the new wave of chefs.
Immensely humble and kindhearted man. I do like your dynamic, so wholesome. I’d watch hours upon hours of this content
I mean Jean, wow what a guy! He is so humble and genuine its almost kinda heartwarming to see them cooking and coming along so nicely together.
Great Video
Would love a full series of these.
Touring the world competing against incredible chefs in their own kitchens...
Everyone prazing Jean and I'm here to praze him more, not only is he incredibly kind, but you can tell he's also incredibly confident and humble when he isn't afraid to learn from someone who is societly seen as "less of a chef" than him
its only january and you already created your best video of this year. honestly i can't imagine what else could beat this.
JG seems like the best person to learn from. he just seems so down to earth, no over blown ego and just so dang nice! JG is the goat!
You deserve this man, that's all I have to say. I'm so jealous the amount of passion and joy you have doing what you like.
Jean - so humble and funny. Outstanding chef with an admirable personality.
Nah, the humbleness JG has didn't show that world class title, but the food he made just say it all, whatta great guy!
At JG's not only was it worth it but they massively raised be bar for me on what a can be done with food. To top it off I got a fist bump from the man himself.
LOL it couldn't be more obvious that was your first "high end" experience. Grow up & experience what real culinary art has to offer
This may be the most fun collab to watch. They both were just enjoying cooking and food.
JG is a wonderful human being I can tell just by watching this. His team is fortunate
Lmao the "He's kinda hot now that I think about it" is actually what happens when you eat someone's food that is that good.
Yup, cooking is the best dating tactic out there
JG is so wholesome and i love that he wasn’t scared to hold back and tell you how much he was impressed and shined a light on your skills.
One of your top videos, Josh, and that is saying something. Thank you for bringing Jean to the screen. He is a gem.
I love how you can see how much Joshua respects the chef.
The chemistry between you two is amazing. You need to get him on again.
Chef was sooo nice you could tell he was even like “no I’m nervous too” LMAO
That was fun 👍 I love how complimentary JG is, a true lover of food and the craft ✌️
Really enjoyed watching this.. They had so much fun together and kudos to JG for being so humble and down to earth.. Both plates looked amazing and I wish I could have had a taste!
Seemed like he was happy to just cook with you and not against. Wholesome guy that loves cooking. Cool to see passionate people creating content on the thing they love. Nice vid
I've been to Jean-George once and it was AMAZING. Good lil one on one match. I give it to Jean-George for being so teacher friendly. My uncle retired as a chef and when I get to cook with him he guides me like Jean-George did to Josh and it was nice to see that in a pro-kitchen.
Josh is going into the new year strong with some of the best content I’ve seen from him the past couple days. Keep it up man!
My friend let’s make it together the same ting with pizza a real one ☝️
Such a cool video. Love seeing people who love their craft not be afraid to invite the younger generation in and teach them a thing or two! He seems to have such a good spirit. I think it’s time Josh finally opens a restaurant 😭
This was awesome. Jean-George is a hero to many of us in the business, and this just goes to show what a humble and delightful guy he is. One of your best videos yet Josh. I'd like to see how you fare against Jose Andres next ;)
This is super cute. How humble this chef is. They are trying to make it a competition and he is too sweet!
I wonder how he is with his employees though
Especially in a tough environment like the kitchen
How amazing was JG? For a world class chef, love how kind and supportive he was! An excellent video!
This is my favorite collab of all time. Chef was so kind and genuine!!
REALLY outdid yourself with this video idea. I rarely leave comments but this was just SO entertaining and fun to watch. Genuinely love watching this because you can see how much passion and joy you both have for what you are doing. Big fan for life. Cant wait for your restaurant, I will fly to Austin just to eat there!
You can see why he's a good cook! He seems to live for his art and the food he makes, no room for ego because it's all taken by passion :D
Josh, you amazing son of a gun. Big ups to Jean for his warm welcoming persona. I am sure you learn a lot from this experience.
As someone who’s spent a lot of time in kitchens, the funniest thing to me is JG talking about his “onion test.” Cut an onion 4-5 ways, “Wait what are the 5 ways to cut an onion?” “I don’t know.” Hahaha. Julienne, brunoise, dice, mince, batonnet. There you go boys.
This has to be the kindest and most loving chef I’ve ever seen
