    His mastery, in every single way, on the guitar is just super-human. I cannot think of an element of playing - from feel to technique to, well, anything, Tim Pierce is not a master in. It's difficult to even grasp. But, the proof is in the outcome. Amazing.

    Tim Pierce brought it... he's a killer player. I have watched Tim's channel on and off and some stuff hits or misses, but his chops are always solid ... I am glad you pushed him as he has more tricks in the bag. Interesting on the peak and valley... a true pro.

    Tim Pierce's self awareness is next level. I'm not sure how, but seeing the background of how songs came together makes them sound way better and more interesting to me. This was already a great track, but it's like I'm not hearing it with a new understanding. You were amazing in Nashville!

    The peak and valley analogy was tremendous, and mind blowing. You pushed and he climbed the mountain again, and just WOW!!! Great song, great album, great channel, great video, great guest artist!!! 🤘🎸🤘

    I really could sit back and listen to tim create new content all day long. I joined his course a while back and im bad about just sitting back and watching him play even just in his tutorials. He is so impressive even when just doing lesson videos. He has a presence about him.

    I love hearing and seeing this process! As a guitarist for over 30 years with limited studio experience it’s fascinating to see how the sausage is made. I feel capable of moments of brilliance but I’m still working on fitting the pieces together, striving to get my hands to produce what’s in my head in real time. Maybe someday!

    • @StavrosStavrouComposer
      @StavrosStavrouComposer ปีที่แล้ว

      hey sorry for the assumption but perhaps you should look into learning your scales/modes on every position on the fretboard and how to connect them, that way you should be able to have more flow in your improvisations , my guitar teacher Theodore Ziras taught me that and it helped me out quite a lot!

    Best takeaway for me was the tip to get your balance right in the mix when you perform the take because you get ahead of the drums - for someone who is always ahead of the beat, I’ll be implementing that on my next session

    It don't matter how long or how many takes it takes, it's the process and not excepting anything less than what you know is inside you, taking it to the outer limits of your technical capability without showing off and feeding the listener with sweet musical inspiration. Now I don't mind the fact it takes me more than a couple of takes to not play before the beat 😊. David Bahar Edinburgh x

  • @grizcuz
    @grizcuz ปีที่แล้ว

    What I like about TP's playing is it's just all so tastefully done. It's never flashy in a 'look at how I can play' way. It's just always well mannered and sits and blends really nicely with the track. I suppose that's why he's on so many records, he knows how to make it sound so effortlessly soulful and emotive without it jumping out of the speakers in a brash way. It must take years to find that balance, because I expect it's a bit of a tightrope walk, to have it fit in with what's playing but also to get the listener to feel that emotion that he's projecting. (Sorry, struggling to find the right words and that last sentence is getting dangerously close to psychobabble.)

    Watching him play is like watching Tony Scott skate or Danny McAskill ride a bike. The level of mastery makes it look like it's nothing but it is the very highest level one can achieve doing a single thing. He has speed, control, spontaneity, edginess, perfection and dirt all at the same time. It's fun to listen to this. No comparison to the hordes of lifeless shredders and bland blues-dads floating around YT. This is the real thing.

    Tyler, this is awesome. As you know, or you should know, everything is connected. I just saw your Jam at the end of Dave Grohl's Everlong video and the one you put out three days ago. To see this all coming together through this one that you posted 10 days ago is a testament to this connection. Very cool jam on that video, I recall a conversation recently where Rick beato mentioned the Dynamics of chart topping songs and how they are built and without skipping a beat, Dave Grohl came to mind. Everlong is awesome and extremely inspirational, thank you Dave. Rock on.

    Loved that double-stops lick at the beggining of the solo. Sensational.
    Also, you can see there, the finesse of a session guitarist, to ask the composer of the song, what he thinks, and to think and re-think the structuration of the licks on a solo recording, and get the best combination to build a solid speech, full of emotion, content and to make good connections, that make sense from one lick to the other, and in the view of the overall solo, into the song.
    Trying to make the perfect solo to match the song, that's the craft.
    As rock and pop guitar players, sometimes we underestimate the power that a good double-stop lick can have on a solo, it changes the flavour right there, and then you go back to those great blues licks.
    Really enjoyed this episode. Hey... how about you try and get Steve Lukather to make another solo in your album?
