When using small size fire bricks , always fit them in a diamond formation, this way your peel won’t bump into gap , diamond formation, it can never bump 👍
In this video I show you how and here in Brazil we make ovens too.... On my channel I show you how the gas burner with air diffuser was made, at low pressure! th-cam.com/video/4VMuHQIe8C8/w-d-xo.html
Great job on the build, I'm currently doing something similar with 16 gauge stainless with a 14"radius outer skin.I can't wait to see your finished product ... Congrats.
Nice, I considered rolling the outside, but I like the industrial look of this, although people keep accusing me of copying the uuni haha. I gave up making things like this from stainless as it warps so heavily when it gets hot, its hard to control. Just gotta stop the mild rusting and its fine, I find. Are you insulating yours?
I'm using 2" hi-temp insulation which is apparently good for 1000 deg f I hope it doesn't warp, it is 14" rad outer, 12" inner on a 1/4" plate 24"x 28" that the fire bricks sit on.....
All you needed to do is weld a one inch high piace of steel on the inside or outside to rise the outside steel whatever you need it to be to install the insulation properly. It’s that easy if you don’t over think things. So right after I added this comment the video shows you added the corner steel but you still did do it exactly the way you should have !
You absolutely need to wear a tight fitting mask when handling, especially cutting, rock wool insulation. You can’t see the dust shards that are going in your lungs
As for from Syria, thank you for this video. Can you send me the measurements of this oven, the thickness of the iron, and what kind of insulation I have put in. Thank you.
@@PetesShredder Hi Pete, thank you for the ultra quick reply! I was clutching at straws thinking I could use 3mm, I have 3mm and 6mm stock, I also have a 5,2mtr 200ton CNC press brake, but the tooling is for 3mm or less.I think though maybe on a short length I could fold the 6mm, but I am worried about damaging the tool.
Martin Grady maybe you could cut and weld panels, or maybe use a grinder to cut shallow cuts along the fold lines and then use the brake to bend? Also, make the roof taller than mine. Maybe 75-100mm more height.
hey pete i wanted to build a simmilar one after seeing the size and the price of the unii pro, so i got a question can i just go to a metal shop and get the bending done and do you know how much it costs.? thx great video
Paul Schrader you will need to find a local metal fabrication shop and go and ask. Some places will do this kind of thing for cash but a lot will be really awkward and start talking about setting up accounts and minimum orders and quotes and stuff. Once you find a good friendly metal fabrication place, make sure you make friends Caus they are very handy. Currently in Naples on a pizza fact finding trip/ will be making another video with the oven soon to show off all I have learnt whilst in Napoli 😎
@@PetesShredder I have a ooni 2 s. It heats up fast and used a scoop of pellets by each pizza. Not bad. Only draw back is I can cook an small pizza at time. Well, and the chimney falls down...
Uuni doesn't rely on the insulation to cook the pizza but the clever design of drawing the flames over the pizza and it's done in an instant very quick, efficient and tasty results
DUDE clean up your shop it's begging for accidents Good job though I would have cut the chimney for the welding of the inner shell But seriously this shop is a mess
A lot of Americans can't even afford a camera these days. And, especially a video camera. Want buy some of us one with tri-pod a lap-top with editing software. Send the equipment and I'll start a channel as soon as it gets here. Don't let your alligator mouth overload your hummingbird ass.

Super project
Thanks Peter: great idea and good job,any chance to get the drawings I am willing to buy a copy.
Very much work to do for this DIY project. I rather use some bricks and an iron cover for making a simple oven
Excelente, felictcnes
Top looking oven but the costs of making would make it pretty expensive

all dimensions are in part 1
Hello ,can somebody tell me the final cost to build this one ??
Thank u i ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Could have also flatened the inner cover spreading the walls a bit and opening the top gap up.
Hello Pete, Can you please tell me exact material used for insulation ?
and where from did you buy the insulation material ? Thanks very nice project.
merci

Hi Pete, where are the bricks from please?
Esta muy bajito ponlo más alto y ponle más ondulación debajo de la piedra para que el calor no Sele valla muy rápido
a que ondulacion te referis?, como un colchon de aire?
I wonder if that fiver didn't burnt. What kind of glass fiver is it? What temp it support?
It’s ceramic fibre kiln insulation, rated to about 1300c
Do you think you could have used 3mm for the 2x tops sections and the flat base as 6mm?
Martin Grady nah you need thermal mass. The more metal, the better.

Uuni (ooni) doesn't use insulation beetwen walls
Andrés Castro no, one of the many reasons why it’s not very good. The roccbox, which is miles better, does use insulation.
