Matt sounds like an interesting prospect!
He’ll be a fun one to follow, that’s for sure!
My feelings on Matt Shaw. Hes everything so far i feel Nico could be offensively if it was for Hoerners bad chase rate. The only reason I feel Hoerner doesnt hit for more power is he chases pitches he should lay off. If he fixed it he would het more walks and more pitches to drive.
Back to Shaw ...i think thats what we might see from Shaw. So as you said put him in Tennessee...but if he continues owning that league you gotta send him to Iowa. We need to really test his plate discipline.
I think AAA will be a much-needed challenge for Shaw given the way the more experienced pitchers at that level effectively work outside the zone. I’m hoping that Shaw keeps his out-of-zone swing lower but I think anything close to average would be something we should be pleased with!

@@northsidebound optimistically, he’s forcing the Cubs’ hand by June.
Realistically, he gets a cup of coffee in september in preparation for the 2025 ROTY campaign.
Perhaps platoon Justin Turner, Morel and Madrigal at 3b for 24’ and then Shaw at 3b in 2025?
I actually wouldn’t mind that at all. Gives the Cubs the chance to be very deliberate in their development of Shaw and if he’s simply too good to stay in the minors, you find a way to fit him in!
I really like what I’ve seen from Matt Shaw so far as a player and as a person. I wouldn’t want to rush him but if he’s absolutely destroying AA and the Cubs are struggling at 3B then I think the Big club should give him a shot. The guy is solid and I think he could handle the pressure. I’m also curious to know what did you think about Jackson Ferris, Micheal Bush, and the overall trade in general? I checked the channel for a video on Jackson but I couldn’t find one or I over looked it. My bad if I did.
Good point on Shaw! As far as the trade, we’ll have some analysis of it up tomorrow morning on the podcast! The quick of it - losing Ferris and Hope is tough, but I think it’s the right type move to make for the team right now!

I’ve been really dam conflicted about the trade but since I trust you more than anyone when it comes to the farm, I now feel relieved knowing you think it’s the right move. Thx man. Thanks for the kind words! I think it’s okay to be disappointed we lost Ferris and Hope while still being pleased with the move!
@@northsidebound Although I’m confident Ferris is going to be really good, I won’t be disappointed at all if Bush turns out to be a Dude as well. Like they say, "it takes money to make money’’. One more thing tho and I’ll leave you alone, I’m just curious, where did you have Ferris ranked far as Cubs prospects if you don’t mind me asking? I checked for a video but like I said I could’ve easily past over it and my bad if I did.
Nope I don’t have it in video anywhere on here except maybe hidden in a podcast! Still building things out here as best I can! I had Ferris ranked 8th at the time of the trade. Was one of the higher ones on him - and Hope too (13th)!
Good problems to have Vazquez, Shaw & Triantos all hitting well & playing middle infield. Trade Dansby while he still has value next year. Move Nico to SS.
I think they’ll manage better by keeping Dansby. Vázquez profiles as a bench guy at best, Shaw might be best suited for 3rd, and Triantos is a wild card that might not stick on the dirt.
