    Are young players with less than good arms doing training like pitchers to gain arm strength? If not, why not?! If a pitcher can again 1-2 mph in the off-season, why can't a position player? And those gains for a pitcher would be even more for a position player because of using legs more as a fielder.

    • @northsidebound
      @northsidebound 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I do know that position players also work on arm strength programs as well. They look different than pitchers sometimes but your point is absolutely spot on. PCA is a pretty good example of a guy who has seen his arm strength take off in the outfield

      I tend to agree with this. But I also look at the Dodgers who let their pitching prospects eat and see the crazy amount of arm injuries that org as dealt with and wonder if that’s not the way to go either.

    Great show today! - It feels so insane that we have Alcantara, Ballesteros, Caissie, Triantos, and Shaw all on the same team now - the team right before the MLB level. Such an exciting roster. - I'm SO hyped to finally see our 2024 draft picks play in the minors!!! Edgar Alvarez had a great day yesterday at South Bend - 2 for 4. - Thanks for the talk on Eriandys Ramon! I hadn't been paying much attention to him before he came to Myrtle Beach, and now he's one of the players I most look forward to the most! Love his story of making it out of Cuba! - Jonathon Long is TEARING up AA. 24 FOR 48 and a 1.324 OPS in his first 14 games. Insane! Would like to know more about him. - Loved getting Sam on the pod today, he's a big part of why the Pelicans are my favorite minor league Cubs team to watch! The production of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans games and their streams are so great, and I don't see them getting as much love as they should. - Great work on the first 10 2024 draft pick profiles! Loved reading through them! You always do such a great job with the player profiles, makes us very lucky as Cubs fans! Looking forward to the next 10! One future Cub that I feel very strong about and has just recently popped on my radar is Derik Alcantara. He is only 19 and in his second season, yet slashed a 0.354 AVG and 0.983 OPS this season, mainly with the D-Cubs but also a few games with the A-Cubs. I'd love to be able to see him play this season a little at Myrtle Beach! Keep an eye on him, he's gonna be great.

    So even though it was an overpay for Paredes, these are the kinds of moves that need to be made for the betterment of the team. We may regret in a few tears, but if Isaac performs to his career standard, then its a win win. The deep farm system makes this overpay easier to absorb.

    Great show guys‼️ Wirh the surplus of starters once Wicks returns, Assad has become the player with the highest teade value. The Cubs can get a gang of relievers or package him for a legit closee. Another perfecr trade piece is Mike Tachman. If Brendan Davis is called uo, he has to have an everyday spot. It doesnt look kike Happ is going anywhere, so Mike bexomes expendable even with his great performance so far rhis season. Its the bug leagues boys, you gotta make these hard decisions. I rhink rheae two trades would be worth exploring.
