  • The Poynton Bypass, or Poynton Relief Road, opened on 6th March 2023, and was named after Roy Chadwick, an aircraft designer based at Woodford Aerodrome during World War II, on the former site of which the road is now built. The new road links the A555 at Woodford, to the old A523 between Poynton and Adlington.
This video shows a journey along the Poynton Bypass in both directions on the opening day of the road: first southbound from the A555 to Adlington, then northbound from Adlington to the A555.

Looks like a pretty bumpy/undulating road surface for a new one!

Like B5490 - Stanley Mathews Way in Stoke-on-Trent when it was resurfaced poorly. (It still is.)
