@@canigetahoooyyyaaaaa7319 Extreme camping is where you have only the lightest essentials and try to live off the land.
When I was younger and my family couldn't afford a place to live, we'd go to a campground or somewhere near. We had a fishing pole to catch food and would do our best foraging for mushrooms and berries. It was not... good, but we tried to make it fun

Thanks for this. I've had a surprisingly hard time identifying stone. I crack rocks together wherever I find them, whack at them with steel, just trying to discover their properties and uses. Most books and videos I've seen have only confused me more.

Hey Donnie, I started picking up points out of the fields when I was a kid. Grandpa had farmed with horses and my Dad following him as he plowed, or otherwise worked the soil. Dad picked up some huge axe heads that had been shaped by abrasion. The cutting edge was sharp, but not like a knife. They all had a groove where the handle had been hafted to the head, although there was no sign that they’d ever had handles. They were all dark grey rock. Definitely not flint or chert. My cousin took all of them when Grandma died.
    I love this channel.

Every time I talk to someone they always skips out on all those specifics and details and the conversation would go like this. are ya paying attention because you got the wrong one or you are doing it wrong. Ya I am paying attention I would have done better or would of gotten the right thing if you were a better teacher and didn't skip out on specific details. vary educational i love your videos and content keep up the good work

What you're describing is the fracture behavior that is the result of the grain size of sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic rock. You look for mainly igneous and metamorphic rock for their crystalline grains giving what is known as conchoidal fracturing.

Tip for beginners, learn to knap on the bottom of glass bottles. Pure glass is easier to control where flakes travel and there’s more than enough to go around whereas with stone, the world isn’t making more of that for a few million years.
