It depends on how long you are casting. More is better!! Once you do it once, you will get a feel for it and realize exactly how much you need for your setup. I load mine up pretty good though.
@@andrewjerome2157 how much fly line are you running to be able to spool up a roll of amnesia? He had said in the video a whole spool. I currently run backing up to Orvis nymph line to my leader. It pretty much fills the 3wt reel up.
In an earlier post, three years ago, he says he uses four feet of fifteen pound Maxima off the fly line. No mention of Amnesia. Then sighter material down to a tippet ring. th-cam.com/video/ethZj3JCLRA/w-d-xo.html
@@mikestrate1468 if that’s what you have it doesn’t hurt to start with it and see how it is. We’d recommend working your way lighter and to less stiff and thick products, but always recommend learning through testing!
Good job. Very well explained!
Thank you!
Very helpful video George...do you use 6 / 7X fluorocarbon or mono for your tippet material please?
How long should be the Amnesia leader ?

Is 20lb amnesia too much. I'm a beginner
You could get away with 20lb but in my opinion the thickest you really wanna go is 15lb. If it’s all you have use it!

I bought the rod and reel used and he has 8lb chameleon. Casting is a nightmare and i dont want to be discouraged. Love your content. @FullingMillTV
