My guess is that she's his niece... Rex has such a strong "middle child vibe" that he's gotta have an older sibling (which would explain the age proximity and familial relationship with Brianna)
As soon as I could tell that was Brianna through the whisky bottle I clicked the vid. She is by far one of the most delightful people I've ever seen and a joy to watch. She needs a spin off show called Whisky Noob or something idk. One thing I do know though she needs more screen time.

That doesn't sound so odd to me, mainly because my wife is obsessed with the idea of getting a miniature donkey. I told her if we can't eat it I'm not helping... So she still doesn't have a donkey.
@@andrewfarnsworth7178 You can eat donkey. It's surprisingly tasty. I don't know anything about mini-donkeys though...I'm assuming they're also tasty, just smaller. Brilliant, eh?
Aberfeldy 12 is a good low proof single malt choice. Of course there’s the Johnnie Walker Double Black for blended. I agree with the Laphroaig Select being #1. It has the most flavor by far!! It’s awesome that Brianna really likes it too, she’s a keeper.
Always love the episodes with Brianna in them, if she's not a permanent fixture of the tribe already she needs to be. And by the way, those dates you're thinking of are called medjool dates.
Rex: that was actually Breanna's goat contact. Breanna: I actually knew him for his donkey. Cracks me up. That banter plus the great info in these videos keeps me coming back!
Bowmore 12 is my favorite 40 abv Scotch. It's really well balanced, complex, and it's the best affordable scotch hands down. It has notes of smoke and salt balanced some light sweetness.
Love you guys, but I'm immediately prioritizing new content with Brianna to the top of my to-watch list! (hehehe). All good, lots of fun, neat info, good entertainment! Keep it up!
@@scottbartlett2087 You're a minority of one. You're missing the essence that is Briana. She's endearing because she is the exact opposite of someone trying too hard for attention. She is just genuine and what you see is what you get. I'm guessing she is the same person when the camera stops rolling. That's the charm.
How's about remembering you are talking about a person?! How would some of you like your character broken down and discussed in such a way?! Personally, I think it's brilliant to see such a free spirit in videos 👍😀
@@Myke_Lemons yours is exactly the kind of considered response that I appreciate and expect from this community 👍 There are a number of other channels that I have an interest in, but often I will not voice a negative opinion because I know that my opinion does not represent the majority, if all channels were made to my personal liking they would undoubtedly fail. I can see that the guys are trying new things, which will be liked / disliked by other people, alas it is impossible to please everyone. Much like my taste in whisky: I appreciate things which are interesting and different, if I pour a new whisky and it doesn't taste different then I will probably give it away.
So I'm working in the Netherlands and my 2 current 80 proof daily drinkers are Tenjaku blended whisky from Japan, and The Ardmore Legacy lightly peated Single Malt from Scotland. Both were on sale thru Gall and Gall liquor store. Not too shabby in my opinion for daily drinkers.
I'm sad Glengoyne 10 didn't make the cut! It's one of those that EVEN at 40% it does not fail to deliver in flavor and mouthfeel. I always recommend it to beginners if they need an 80 proofer and something "budget"
I just had my first sip of Laphroaig 10 yesterday (also my first ever peated whisky). Couldn't even finish my glass, almost regretted buying a bottle. Then I had my second glass of it today and it tasted delicious???? Not sure what kind of magic they put in it, but it really is everything you guys say about it! Truly an amazing experience

Daniel and Rex's expertise is embellished by Brianna's fiendishly clever and funny enthusiasm! I especially like the tongue fluttering tasting technique. Is that called the "Whiskey FAN"? Maybe this oxygenates the sip? I'm getting some Carol Burnett notes here. They say if you do something 10,000 times you are a journeman. That is a LOT of sips. I'm not the greatest whiskey fan but I am a Whiskey Tribe fan. Pavlovian? HA HA HA!
So glad you did this episode because I just realized, after trying a bunch of 100+ proof whiskeys, that I love 80 proof best for making my daily old fashioned-they let the flavors shine through the most.
My fave (so far) is Dalmore 12 yr! I'm definitely a newbie to whiskey in general but especially Scotch. This Dalmore has a lot of similar qualities to Bourbon so it was a good gateway for me.
I am truly stunned that you can find enjoyable notes in Grouse, I've tried so many times through my bartending career and I guess maybe I just don't have the palate for it but my god man. Just in case any non-Scots watch this video and think they should buy a bottle of Grouse to drink neat for enjoyment, please don't. I'm speaking as a barman in a speciality whisky bar in the centre of Edinburgh, your mileage may vary around Scotland of course, and most importantly: drink the drink you like the way you like to drink it!
I love Laphroaig! It's curious as I've never heard no one mentioning it, but the first smell that comes to my nose is the clay I used to play when I was a kid. Not play doh, real sculpting clay. Maybe that's why I have such an affinity with Laphroaig, It brings me old memories...
I have the same Glenfiddich12 at home. I´had to pour a little and compare what I smell with them. All I get are apples on the nose with hint of grain and vanilla. I know you guys don't love it (from a previous video) but the Glenlivet 12 Double Oak is my favourite 40% whisky so far. Its notes of light fruits such as sweet pear and cantaloupe really compliment the simple, light sweetness of the whisky. But I'm mostly really surprised that Redbreast 12 didn't make the list at all.

I’ve been drinking the glenfiddich 14 that was finished in ex bourbon barrels. It has that extra little something I like while being easy to drink as well
Other than an advent calendar, not seen a review of the Glenfiddich 15 from you guys. Glad to have it validated with your approval. One of my favorite whiskies for sure!
Some really solid pours here. The Glenlivit 15 is a solid whiskey. Also glad to see Famous Grouse make an appearance! It's has been my home bar blend for years. It's nothing that's going to set the world on fire but it's just a really nicely balanced blend. Much better that any of the generic bar pours you usually get, i.e. Walker, Dewers, etc.
Fujisan 40 made using Mt. Fuji water in Fuji Gotemba. It is has light sweet toasted honey smell, slight malty, but light and delicate. Tastes like Vanilla and Oak happens in the middle and A very maraschino cherry finish, with a slight oily end.
I used to like Glenlivet 15, but I have to try the Glenfiddich 15 as well. I liked the Strathisla 12, but I wished it had a little more ABV. Same with Macallan Fine Oak 12. I live in Europe and we get the Laphroaig 10 with 40 ABV. I prefer it over the Select and it should be on my list. The Glenfiddich Age of Discovery Madeira 19y (40 ABV) was also quite good.
My favorite has to be Basil Haydens, that stuff goes down like water for me and is one of my favorite drinking whiskeys when I know I'm going to have more than a taste
