With a Labor Day deal at Sage and Kev’s code I got the Duo for just over £250. Paired with a Eureka Mignon Zero I’m having a whale of a time making coffee-shop standard milkies that family and friends say are great tasting- this morning I even managed a reasonable latte-art heart with Momo barista oat milk. No mods to do, hence more savings vs Gaggia long term. I’ll get a fancy Italian machine in a few years, but for now, all good 🎉
Gaggid Direct in the UK confirmed that the OPV is set between 9-11bar (maybe for brass boiler), and solenoid opens at 15bar, not sure if you were aware of this
Hi Kev, Your advice needed, please, I bought a Gaggia Carezza Deluxe back in lockdown, as a beginner machine and have for the most part been impressed. Perhaps what I really fancied at the time was a Classic Pro but couldn't justify the price. Fast forward 4 years later, I would like to upgrade to a Classic Pro Evo. In short, how much of an upgrade is this? Should I be looking elsewhere? The Carezza gets used twice daily without fail, and I'm now finding that hat steam power is all over the place, the gasket has also most likely failed as I'm turning the portafilter almost a full 180. Consistency of pulling shots is increasingly hit or miss so it's zapped out the enjoyment of it all, to be honest. Above all, it's the erratic steam power that's negging me out (I know, life sucks!) I'd like to stick with Gaggia ideally as I like all things Italian but am open to suggestions. Finally, any thoughts on black Friday deals on the Pro Evo or should I not hold my breath? Thanks in anticipation... 😊
Hi Kev! Is there any chance to review the Bezzera Matrix/Duo? I saw there are a lot of nice features, but the machine is actually 6-7 years old. I don't know if it's still worth buying in 2024. Couldn't find any newer videos of them. I am aiming for some dual boiler like Bianca V3.
Whatever the coffee machine, the most important thing is to have a good grinder. The size of the grind is essential to make a perfect espresso. You need to know how to grind the beans according to the origin of the coffee and the recipe you want. 🙂
That's a tricky one, Bambino plus has more user friendliness, programmable shot buttons, auto milk frothing, and a 3 way valve vs a pressure relief valve (slightly drier pucks and no need to wait before removing the portafilter if you grind too fine and choke the machine). DTP is more basic, less components, I'd expect it to last longer. Another option would be the base level Bambino, same shot quality potential, more money to invest in the girnder. Ta, Kev.
Hang on, the Gaggia comes in white too😂, paired with a Faustino, they form a solid espresso team. PS: you are supposed to remove the water tank only during machine descaling. Normally, one would refill water from the tank lid on top of the machine. Tatty bye 👋
Its amazing how many times i watch comparing with gaggia, i still find more and more machine practical of use and in no need for modding. And its incredible that in Italy retailers doesnt sell this particular one, and on the site it goes almost at 490 € before shipping. Absurd.
Im looking into getting into espresso machines, if only for the milkies. Ive well & truly gone down the rabbit hole of espressos, at least on TH-cam. I've found a barely used DTP online for £100, still quite a lot for my miniscule budget. Should i take the dive & potentially get into a new hobby? Or just buy a milk frother & a cheap pod machine & make do? Seen as I mostly want milkies & certainly dont have a refined taste pallet. Loving the channel
Buy it!! You really can’t compare pod coffee with espresso. It may take a few goes to get the hang of it, but a few adjustments here and there are part of the fun. You’ll need a good grinder mind
That's Canadian dollars I think, last time I checked on the US Breville website it was around $499 - although strangely, I don't see the Duo temp pro or the infuser on the Breville website at present.

Excellent! 😎 Moma is my go-to oat juice too, one of the best for pouring I find. Cheers, Kev.

I bought DTP like a month ago and couldnt be more happy with it
I realize you probably left the "Bambino" in there for engagement. And I appreciate the review so thanks
The truth most dislike to believe is that entry level espresso makers will do as well as expensive machines in the hands of most users.
You forgot to cover the most important difference, which is that the Gaggia comes in yellow, but the Breville only comes in silver.
Bright yellow appliances should be banned internationally. If you think otherwise that’s fine, it’s okay to be wrong
Do you know if barista express grinder can ground coarse enough for french press or pour over ?

does the depth size included the power cord as well?
Are you still planning to do a Gaggiuino mod video with the Classic Pro?
What did you use for the white arrows for the steam knob?

Do you have any discount codes for the sage?
What home setup would you recommend for a beginner looking to practice on???? Hoping to open a coffee shop next year

Duo Temp Pro, Bambino Plus or something else for a beginner with ~£350 to spend?

Why do you need to remove the tank of the Gaggia? You can pour water from the top. Which Sage doesn't have.
For cleanin and movin over purposes, its cumbersome
I can't decide, which one should i buy? Can you help me?
I wish you bought Sage bro 😅
@HadeyanUtkan I bought Gaggia 😁
Taste the same 😅🤣🤣😂😂😂❤️👍
You forgot to taste the Gaggia.
The classic tastes like the orange coloured opal fruits (starbursts).
Gaggia.
I agree, both machines likely do taste the same 😂
sage is $679 usd on their website

9 bar and 13 are both not good😮
