I remember ages ago when all my supports were fused all the time (on a taz4). The new supports are soooo much better, but they're nothing compared to what you can do with some tweaks. What other tweaks have you discovered to get them right?

You really should have mentioned rotating the model to minimize need for supports. Sometimes a creative rotation will solve all your print problems.

There are plugins to automatically find this now.

There are great plug ins too that help.. you can actually pick the angle of support as well as what type of support whether it's a box shape or circle...etc... but it takes time to get all this stuff down...just have fun with it in the mean time

This was a godly video thank you very much. Will fiddle around with things that got really deformed undersides by too weird support settings.

You are the Dave Grohl of 3d printing, in more ways than one.

Dave Grohl of Nirvana ad the drummer or the front man guitarist Dave Grohl?

What's the best way to get rid of the roughness left underneath the object by the supports? Every time I remove the supports, the area they were attached to are very rough underneath.

I’m looking for an answer to this too. From what I’ve found, it’ll never be as good, since it’s required that the layer above the support isn’t fused to the supports. Someone recommended reducing the support z distance, at the risk of sticking. I think we need some sort of support tower test, to sweep through settings.

I cannot get my Z distance right. The overhang isn't even that steep but I either get supports fused to the part, or nasty sagging surface. About ready to just quit. LOL

3:30 ever since you got the Mark 3S removing supports in a difficult way hasn't been something you'd have to deal with? A prusa is no better than any other printer and I understand you are sponsored by them but this has to do with your slicing settings, not the printer. If anything there are other printers that will allow support removal far easier than a prusa.

hi, do you think that this model positioning will work and print fine?
Or how would you place this object to avoid failurs?
