Wendell I have your 200-301 vol 1 library which I bought last year. Now I’ve ready your CertSkills blueprint, v1.1 update, etc videos. Considering I’m studying for multiple certs which have multiple attendant costs: books, exam fees, subscriptions, etc I’m reluctant to get the new 2nd Ed 200-301 v1.1 library as much as I’d like to. I can’t count how many time I’ve gotten books or study guides only for things to change. It’d be a waste. I have the multivolume Cisco NetAcad CCNA v7 study guide & lab manuals too which are pricey. I wanted it as a supplemental study material. If I was rich I’d buy your new CCNA 200-301 2nd v1.1 with Network Simulator package. I have enjoyed using my Pearson CCNA 200-125 network simulator. The simulator & lab manuals with packet tracer are really a studying multiplier as they augment your study & books. Reading about networking only goes so far & the hands on stuff even if it’s a simulator helps due to the visual cues & tactile aspect. Anyway my point is that I will probably pivot to the new exam instead of trying to force it in & take it in September or October. You mentioned on your CertSkills blog & vlog that you would give a “playbook” or guide for using your 1st Ed 200-301 to study for the new v1.1 exam. I poked around but haven’t found your guide yet. Do you know when you’re going to release this? Any tentative date? Thanks! Thankfully, it's not a large volume to learn. The three video posts should be in weeks 2, 3, and 4 in August. I'm working on the content beginning next week. I was looking at the 2nd Ed with the NetSim however there is another NetSim package listed under your authorship with Sean Wilkins - CCNA 200-301 Network Simulator uCertify Course and Labs Access Code Card CCNA 200-301 Network Simulator uCertify Course and Labs Access Code Card. Is there a difference in them? It seems like the NetSim included with the v1.1 200-301 2nd 2 volume library is the newest simulator. Are there any differences between them? If I spring for the updated 2 vol library I figured I might as well get the one with the net sim even though it is basically double the price than just the paper books alone. Thanks!😁
Hey Kenji, The best place to start is to post a comment on any blog post at certskills.com and start that way. I'm not really set up for inbound emails, etc, as a one-person show. Which leads me to your next question... I can usually give some insight into the products offered directly from the publisher (not always, but often), but once the publisher gets a second company involved, I have to refer you to them. I don't know what they do and don't package together for the offerings. I just write'em, so to speak. I think your analysis may be spot on, but the answer needs to come from the folks offering them for sale, given how far removed it is from my end of the process. Sorry about that! PS I do *think* that Pearson (Cisco Press) has said that they're not revising the CCNA Sim for the new CCNA V1.1 blueprint... so maybe start by asking them about that... sometimes, a straightforward question has the best success on such things.

I'm sure there are topics in your older book that apply to the new exams. However, the 200-301 V1.0 changes were huge (back in 2020), plus the minor changes here in 2024... you'll want new study tools! My new Vol 1 is in stock June 3rd, by the way... :-)

The publisher uses the word "Library" in products that contain multiple other products. The CCNA Official Cert Guide Library is a boxed set of two books: CCNA 200-301 OCG Volume 1 and CCNA 200-301 OCG Volume 2.
You mean the pool of questions Cisco uses for the real CCNA exam? Cisco doesn't discuss such details, but it's clear from the past that they don't discard all the former questions. They will remove questions above removed topics, add some for the new topics, and maybe update/add for existing topics. But there's no need to get rid of the questions that exist and are useful. (It's a pretty minor change...)
No. With a new edition, there's no update PDF, as the changes are too extensive to collect in a meaningful way. Instead, I'll help you in other ways, as noted in the video.
