Can you all go back to the two test CCNA? It made perfect sense to get the CCST in the first half and CCNA when you pass the second half. It makes studying easier.

@@Ksd_Saravanan It will probably differ from interviewer to interviewer... But Most common questions are the important things that has to be done as a network associate. Such as simplistic definition of every thing in the CCNA course and its functions. The last one I tackled was all about STP. Important questions were in the L2 side of Networking and less of L3 like routing but still you need at least knowledge about it.
where abouts are you located? that sounds like a massive shortage if they're taking ppl in without CCNA, unless you have years of experience before hand.

Glad to know its going to be a free expansion and we can keep our current 200-301 study materials. I agree. I have interacted with many people in the industry. Most of them have done the training but not certified. The cost of certification doesn’t speak to theirs earning capacity. In some country being certified is not an instant guarantee to get a job. They should look at the geographic location and also minimum wages for those regions.

David, ask these people about some of the CCNA exam questions that are grammatically incorrect. The written text of the questions is wrong and they grade you on incorrect questions. Could you ask these CCNA executives?
I just wish the exam was based on the course. A lot of the questions are ridiculous. If anybody from CIsco is listening. I am more than happy to discuss. I’m a CCSI.
I don't know with all these changes... I'll finish the 200-301 but after this I'll just stick to Juniper and Nokia's NRS1 since the ISP I work for is heavy on Alcatel.

I'm transitioning from Cisco to Juniper after 13yrs of being a Sr. Network Engineer. Why add new topics if newer individuals don't have the work experience expecially AI? The CCNA is no longer a entry level cert, which is crazy, when I took it years ago before getting my CCNP. Cisco is falling behind other vendors quite fast and it's sad.
This looks promising David! Thanks for keeping us up to date. But i have some legitimate questions around CCNA & CCNP. I really want to take those exams even the OSCP looks so appealing, but there are 2 main problems. 1 Money. 2. Uncertainty. I really want to start in a company but the IT market has double standards. On one side they beg people because they cannot find anyone & have a shortage and on the other hand it is nearly impossible for me to find a job in this space!! Why? I still did not manage to get a degree. Because if i want to even get a chance i need a impossible standard that they ask as a resume examples : Master/Bacholor degree, + CCNP, OSCP, CEH.... And i start to believe they are bias in picking employees based on a collage (in Belgium) It is insane and i also predicted to a government employee they will get hacked because they're hiring process is mediocre and the database is a April fools joke. Fun fact 2 weeks later it was on the news. And somehow they did not even bother to call me & tell me okay maybe i know someone to give you work.

Dear Cisco, Please stop cramming sudo relevant topics into your base exams. You are quickly diluting the value of these exams by making anyone who gets them slightly aware of these technologies but a master of none. Not every Network Administrator or Engineer jobs is going to even need you to be aware of DNAC, SDWAN, AI, ect. On the flip side all Administrator and Engineering jobs will require an absolute solid foundational knowledge of core routing and switching and the ability to troubleshoot these foundations. For the love of god put these into your specialty tracks and go back to the roots of CCNA and CCNP core EXAMS being designed to give people the foundational knowledge they need to then branch into these other specialties.
these guys are clueless on REAL live environment scenarios on hundreds of startups and thousands of Enterprise companies and MSP. 😅 everything is still running on mixed Legacies old tech and devices with few cloud and SD WAN apps. It's incredibly stupid that these certs can't be sent to a PO box. WHY NOT?? Cisco needs to get off its high horse. It's not like they're a government department or something, issuing liscences.
I don't like AI. I use Google Bard daily and follow AI news but its hype is way bigger than its potential. Personally I would completely exclude any AI content from a network certificate. AI is a new discipline and it already has its own dedicated Bachelor's study departments in many universities. I have a BSc in electronics & communications engineering and I have some idea about neural networks and no I don't want to get involved with any of that maths. No. That's why I decided to focus on network engineering. I think instead of AI adding content about mobile networks and antennas would add much more value to the certificate. I would also offer two different certificates for on-premises and cloud network engineering. If there were as many resources as CCNA has on the web I would much rather get Nokia's network certificate than Cisco's. I don't like where Cisco chose to be heading with its CCNA.

AI is a new discipline and it already has its own dedicated Bachelor's study departments in many universities. I have a BSc in electronics & communications engineering and I have some idea about neural networks and no I don't want to get involved with any of that maths. No. That's why I decided to focus on network engineering. I think instead of AI adding content about mobile networks and antennas would add much more value to the certificate. I would also offer two different certificates for on-premises and cloud network engineering. If there were as many resources as CCNA has on the web I would much rather get Nokia's network certificate than Cisco's. I don't like where Cisco chose to be heading with its CCNA.
