Just to say -- I've never looked at you (or anyone) and thought "ooh, they need a tan." Despite the fact that a rude stranger actually DID once yell "get a tan" at me in the subway, it's just not a judgment I've ever made of another person, and that's the truth! ;) You looked great in that dress.
What, a stranger yelled at you to get a tan? WTF? Although a doctor (and a gynecologist of that!) did once tell me to get my iron levels tested, because I "looked so pale". I was like, no, that's just literally my natural skin color, but thanks for telling me I look sick.
It's funny how in the past pale skin was considered artistocratic and delicate and now it just stands for "sick and not taking care of yourself".

I do understand it because many people make comments on white legs, but i feel so sad that many people think that having white legs is ugly.

Exactly! I always find it kinda strange that while Carrie is so pro-loving our bodies at any stage, she spends so much time working to cover her natural skin color.
I love how diverse your style is. It’s really inspiring to see you confident and glowing and beautiful in both trendy looks and “cheugy” looks. I’m 27 and definitely have a lot of cheug in my closet that I’ve been avoiding but seeing you rock the 2004 high school look is honestly inspiring lol
And the embracing and enjoyment of the teacher look is very refreshing and great vibes. I tell people all the time their outfits give cute teacher energy but they are usually insulted bc they see it as not trendy which hurts my feelings
Maurice’s is so nostalgic for me 😭 I grew up in a tiny town and I remember when my grandmothers, God rest their souls, would take me there to get an occasional outfit. They were the only plus size retailer around where I lived and they were my jam! Still love their stuff.
The outfit with the green cardigan and the flared jeans is a look I didn't know I needed in my closet. Loved all the outfits in the video.

Lol I work at maurices and I had no clue we have that absolute CUTE cardi!!! Ahhh, I must have that whole outfit- the flares, the boots, the white top. Yes yes yes! I'm not sure if you have already tried our Everflex jeans but they are high rise and they also are very comfortable and don't roll down on the waist like some jeans do. They also come in skinny, flares, and boot cut too, and I think boyfriend cut as well. (Also I try to sell them to everyone, including my family, because they are so comfortable and I love them!)
Also I have the skirt too and its so cute and comfy, I love it too!

The American girl doll Molly from the 90s had a similar outfit to the last one. The prints were just switched, so she had a solid skirt and a printed top.
YESSS! It also kind of reminded me of a skirt I had in the 90s from American girl, but instead of plaid it was a shiny blue vinyl material (and it had a matching zip up vest!!) lol.

I 💯 agree about the lack of high rise jeans at Maurices. I’m not tall but do have a long torso and I have two pairs of high rise jeans from Maurices. They are definitely more midrise though. Love a mockneck moment. That basic tank was so cute too!

As someone who works at Maurices the 0x is pretty much equivalent to XL and 1x is pretty much equivalent to XXL, that is why you rage from XL to 0x :) I also agree with the sleeve length comment about the cardigan - I feel that way with quite a few of our sweaters and cardigans.

To be inclusive in size and beauty, we must stop telling ourselves we need to be tan. We don’t. If we’re going to love our bodies as they are, that includes skin color. Of all types. Don’t undermine your message by saying you need to self tan. We love you as you are.
Loved this video! As a Maurices fan, it was fun to see someone creating outfits for the holidays with them. Also, i feel you're pain about their idea of 'high rise.' As a petite, long-torsoed individual, my bellybutton is always peeking over the tops of their jeans. But i've learned to accept it as their jeans last a long time and are comfy.
