  • BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD PERFORMS RICHIE FURAY'S CLASSIC SONG LIVE FOR THE FIRST TIME ON THE BRIDGE SCHOOL REUNION CONCERT.
THERE'S ONE ERROR IN THE INFORMATION GIVEN IN THIS VIDEO: RICHIE'S "HEARTBEAT OF LOVE" (WITH NEIL YOUNG, STEPHEN STILLS, TIM SCHMIT, KENNY LOGGINS, PAUL COTTON AO) WAS RELEASED IN 2006 (NOT 2004....SORRY FOR THAT TOO)
I WAS THERE BECAUSE...MY GOOD FRIEND RICHIE FURAY, FOUNDER OF POCO, HAD INFORMED ME. WHAT A SPECIAL TRIP FROM CURAÇAO TO CALIFORNIA THAT WAS...

In this era of blind tribalism and at a point we're we are all about as nasty to each other for not following our preferable ideological and political bents of the moment, it is so refreshing and heart-warming that Richie - who is a Conservative and devout Christian - can still share a stage with Neil & Stephen who are very Liberal - and share their commonality which is beautiful music. This is what I believe music was originally supposed to do which was to bridge the gaps, not add to them. Kudos to these three men for behaving like adults and leaving the bullshit behind.

Film/Music/TV....No conservative is even *allowed* to pass through the gates of Fame these days. Communist Left can't handle the competition in the marketplace of ideas. They rely on STRICT message enforcement/propaganda (same as always). amerika is a much poorer place culturally as a result

I think this band, at their best, was the true “American Beatles”. The talent was deep and varied. The musicianship was off the charts. And the songwriting - so so so good. Even 43 years on, the songs are timeless, the musicians sound much younger than their years and totally inspired. You can see it in all 3 of the originals’ faces. They know the Springfield was the best combination of their talents and time in music. I miss this band so much. Looks like they do too.

I love Richie's singing. It's so honest and deep. He stole the show. Neil Young on piano also helped recreate the vibe of the original recording.

This really brings back memories of the days on Sunset Blvd in the early 60’s and even though I was just a 15 year old kid my friends and I would hang out at places like Pandora’s Box, a club that Buffalo Springfield played at as well as others and got to know them and I guess they got tired of us always being there that they asked me and one other friend to help them carry in equipment and showed us how to set it ALL up! What great memories I have from those days

Thanks for posting, Peter. Wonderful to see this "sort of" reunion, but also a sad reminder that Bruce Palmer and our very dear friend, Dewey Martin were no longer alive at this time. Dewey was an exceptionally decent man, whose sad fall from unbelievable highs to inconceivable lows was the proverbial "rags to riches" saga. One thing he seemed never to lose was his sense of humor and belief that "the next big moment" was just around the corner. Sad reminder that he's long gone now.

Richie Furay sounds great, and so do his songs. I liked this band so much better than CSNY. I think Neil Young dislikes Furay, you can just sense it here. He seems uncomfortable/jealous sharing the spotlight with Richie . What a shame. Many musicians/performers are egotistical in this way. I would pay big money to see Buffalo Springfield, couldn't care less about CSNY.

I saw them six times in 2010/2011. I don’t think you are too right about Neil and Richie, they always seemed to be warm in all those shows - just look at them at the end of Kind Woman - big smiles. Stephen too. This is Neils stage demeanour a lot of the time in all his permutations. He’s focused and methodical. Neil recently wrote some nice things about Richie on his website as well. They couldn’t be at more different ends of the political spectrum (Neil is left of Lenin and Richie is a bona fide Trump thumper), but have that shared experience that unites them.
