You guys did the right decision! Im born and raised in Northern BC and did our first trip this year to Yukon and Alaska. We pulled a travel and had no problems, buuuut if you dont pay attention the roads will swallow you up and take your tires off. I spoke to many diesel pushers and they said they would never do again with a big rig. Prepare for rock chips………and a couple mosquitoes lol. Enjoy its so beautiful!!!
I think you guys are spot on!! I told my wife about a year ago I thought we should consider buying a small class c, as opposed to pulling our 40ft 5th wheel, with no slides for our planned AK and out west trip after we retire. She said I was crazy for considering owning 2 RVs. Now suddenly I don't seem so crazy after all. Can't wait to follow your adventures. 😊
I don't know if I would tell her that yet. You might think we're crazy after we get out of the road. Take care and thanks for taking the time to watch and leave a comment. Safe travels!
We looked at a lot of rig before we decided on our new full time home. The Winnebago EKKO fit the bill for us. We are loving it and how much storage it provides for us to full time. Funny thing is we had the same mindset as you two. We got our EKKO and our first decision was to take our big bucket list destination… ALASKA! We are going this year. Hope you enjoy your new rig and look forward to seeing your adventures.
Wouldn't it be awesome if our paths crossed while in Alaska! Thanks for taking the time to watch and leave a comment. Safe travels and enjoy your trip to Alaska!
Looking forward to your upcoming trips! I didn't see you selling the Class A, but it makes sense. Best wishes! I think smaller is better too for where you are planning to travel.
We have made two RV trips to Alaska. In 2013, we had a 27 ft fifth wheel, but decided to buy a used Lance cab over camper for the trip. IT WAS PERFECT and allowed us the freedom to EASILY get where we wanted. We had planned to sell it on our return, but before we every returned we decided to sell our fifth wheel and keep the cab over (and never looked back). A disclaimer: we are not full time RVers, but usually travel 60 nights a year.....a couple of 2-3 week trips per year and lots of 3-5 days trips. We upgraded to a 25 foot class C, which is what we took on our 2nd trip to Alaska in 2018 and it worked great as well. We have decided that the ease of travel with a smaller rig is our preference. It is only the 2 of us and our company is day-time only and we visit outside at the campsite. We found that much of what we THOUGHT we neeeded, we didn't actually need, as the scenery and experience is the most important thing. YES, you made the right decision!
If we already had a truck we would have done the same and bought a used cab over camper. Totally agree that it's all about the scenery and experience. Thanks for the vote of confidence. Safe travels and enjoy your journey!
I’m excited for you guys to make the trip to Alaska! My wife with our 2 grandsons made the trip this past June. We did it in our 2020 Montana 5th wheel. We had an amazing trip! We drove 12,000 and had to replace all 4 sets of springs on our camper. Fortunately I was able to do it myself. The roads are terrible to put it mildly.. The sites and all of the wildlife we saw was worth every moment we spent. We live in Pennsylvania so it was quite the trip just to get to the place where we crossed into Canada. Enjoy, and if you have any questions I would be happy to try and answer them. Happy traveling, Joe
Hi Joe! We are always on the lookout for wildlife. So awesome that you guys were able to see so much wildlife. Fingers crossed we see the same. Yes, we’ll definitely get in touch with any questions we have about Alaska. Thank so much for watching and leaving a comment.

Congrats on the new rig, we want to do Alaska at some point but we are going to put a truck camper on the back of you Ram 3500 dually. I dont think we are doing it in 2024 maybe summer of 2025, we need to talk. Larry
If we had a truck we would do the same thing. Obviously purchasing a truck at this time is out of the question. We'll have to talk after our trip to Alaska. Hopefully we'll have some cool places to tell you about.
When I lived in Alaska my parents drove their class A motorhome up there. It was very rough on it. I say you are smart driving the Class C. We had a 42ft Class A that we sold last year and we have downsized to 25ft. We do enjoy traveling with a smaller RV. We are planning on a trip up to Alaska next year.
Going from a 42ft to a 25ft must get you guys into a lot of places you couldn't before. Congratulations! Hopefully we'll run into you guys next year in Alaska. Safe travels and enjoy your journey. 😊
We’re headed to Alaska in 2024 as well for 3 months. We are driving our 41’ Super C! Driving will be shared, because I just did driving lessons. ☺️ Good luck with your trip. I hope you can find another rig once you return.
How exciting for you guys. North to Alaska!!! Someday I will be going. Jeff and I have been looking at small Class C’s also to replace my little trailer I use for summer camping. So much to think about.
So far we are enjoying our Trend. Chris just received our Sumo Springs. Will probably install them next week. Maybe we'll cross paths next year while in Alaska! 😁
It's definitely an adjustment to say the least. Alaska's going to be an epic adventure. Hopefully you'll be able to go sooner than later. Stay safe and enjoy your travels. 😊
Very exciting plans! Have you ever been to Alaska before? We haven’t been and we are trying to decide if we want to go by RV or cruise. Mostly because we could cruise now but would have to wait another 5 years to go by RV. Congrats on the the new tv show too! When does it start?
Wow, guys! So much to think about and we don't know what we would do…. Maybe a smaller RV!! Alaska would be amazing and can't wait to see who is going with you!! #postivervliving
Enjoy the trip! We’re headed into Canada from Mass. mid April on our way to Alaska. Hopefully we’ll cross paths if the timing is right! I’ll text a pic of what rig we’re using!
I just don't think I could do it too small, My Hat is off to you. I pulled homes for almost 30 years Before we opened our own business And literally pulled thousands of Homes, modular, double wide so driving a 40 or 45 rig foot rig doesn't seem much to me. But I do hope you have a great time and safe travels
Thank you. Our new rig is a little small to say the least but we know it's not our forever rig. As long as it works for our trip to Alaska next year it will be worth it. We very much appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave a comment. Have a wonderful fall!
We've been to AK twice, and we think smaller is better IF you and your mate can handle the closer quarters. Fortunately, we managed just fine in both. We found that our bigger rig had more problems than the smaller one, so your assumption seems well founded. Good luck on your AK adventure!
We should be fine with the close quarters it’s Tucker we’re a little concerned about. Fingers crossed everything goes well. Thanks for your positive thoughts.😊
Sounds like a solid plan. Curious to find out who you’re traveling with. We are reluctant to buy a larger than 30’ trailer for the same reason. We don’t want to buy ourselves out of a lot of the campgrounds that can’t have big rigs.
So many different ways to travel and places to see. We’re just scratching the surface. For next years travels this rig is going to be perfect! Thanks for taking the time to watch and leave a comment. Safe travels!
I totally agree with downsizing to a smaller rig for a trip that long. We would need something with at least a queen size bed. I'm 6'4" an 260, so I would not fit in that bed, especially with my wife and 2 dogs. Its a dream of ours to RV in Alaska when we retire in a few years. We are looking at Super C Diesel rigs either on the Ford or Freightliner chassis. BTW- I clicked the link on RV Trader and it did not work for me. Just started following you guys, and I'm looking forward to seeing your adventures on your trip next year.
Fingers crossed the smaller rig works out. Totally understand you needing a queen size bed. Love the Super C Diesel rigs! Our listing on RV Trader has expired. For now we are keeping our DP. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and follow our channel. Stay safe and enjoy your travels. 😊
I want to get a truck camper to go alaska. For all the same reasons you mentioned. We have a fifth wheel. I just think the smaller can move faster. Can't wait for your alaskan adventure!
We have Alaska on our list for 2025. We will have to see if it works out or not. Getting a smaller rig is a great idea. Are you going to take a tow car when you go? I know you have been traveling without one. Lynn and Danny
Yes, we looked into renting for this trip. It would have been $200. + a night for what we needed. Then when you added the extra for millage and insurance it was much cheaper to purchase one. Not sure what the exact difference will be until after our trip next year. We may end up selling it. We'll have to see what happens.
Smaller is nice to get around. Our 27 foot 5th wheel is still a little big sometimes. Did you find a bike rack for the E bikes yet? Thanks From Wisconsin
I think it's a good idea to have the smaller rig for an Alaskan trip. However if you sell the class A you may not find another one as nice or for the same price.😮
We talked to a Canadian couple that told us its best to travel in a C for multiple reasons. Not sure about the service centers but definitely stands to reason it would be easier to have them serviced there than the class A’s.
The smaller rig is definitely an advantage. And I think you will be able to replace your holiday rambler with a far superior coach if you do a little shopping. It sounds to me like you have figured out you’re gonna need some thing brand new look for the quality from the Oregon years is what I call it. Thomyt
We think so as well. Fingers crossed we made the right decision. That's really good advice well keep it in mind. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. 😊
We only call it that because Winnebago does. I think they are all class C's. A couple manufactures told us there is no such thing as a class B. But who knows. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. 😊
IMO....a smart move. The boondocking issue, the smaller rig (ease of driving) and the fact you are going from diesel to gas (fuel cost savings) makes sense for this type of trip. You will not need to take the jeep either, right? If you took the class A you would need to take the jeep (maybe), right? Are you taking the E bikes? While we have not yet been.... we would take our 32 ft class C and either rent a car or Uber once in Alaska. JS ing. Till 🍹🍸🥃
Gas alone is a game changer for this trip. No to the jeep. Definitely would have to tow the jeep if we took our A. Yes to the E bikes. Nothing wrong with Uber. Till cocktails!!
You guys have been so coy about this. Now to guess who you're going with. I'm guessing Joel & Deb. And the Roadsmiths. This will be an awesome trip. Is Katrina going to cut her hair?
Never seen this channel before but going from that class A DP to that little Winnebago seems to me like it could only be from a financial issue… (not saying that’s your issue) going to Alaska and taking a smaller rig is fine but that’s no reason to sell the DP if you plan to come back. It’s not fun finding a new rig
We will be gone for a year and really don't want the DP to sit for that long. If it doesn't sell we'll have a family member start it up once a month or so until we get back to MD. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. Safe travels.
I will probably regret this, but I have seven years of experience with cold weather in Michigan with a well modded 2017 23L . However, six years worth of information just can’t be transferred over a simple email . If interested, let me know .
A diesel pusher sitting for 4 months is nothing. How long do you think a rig is parked up north during winter? 6 months! And every spring, they start up just fine.🚍
Did we make the right decision to downsize for Alaska? Have you been to Alaska? Leave a comment and tell us what you think.
Never been there, but on my bucket list. Thanks for asking 😊
I grew up there. Beautiful. And it’ll definitely be easier to get around in the smaller RV. So many places to see! I’m excited to see your adventure.
I joy you’re trip😊
When you come back from your trip. would you keep it to continue your journey or get a class A?
You guys did the right decision! Im born and raised in Northern BC and did our first trip this year to Yukon and Alaska. There’s a good chance we won’t sell it and travel in it to Florida this winter. We’ll have to see how things go.
Right on point guys!! Perfect for the Alcan Highway.

Thank you! 🤞
Just recently watched your video on Topsail Hill preserve rv park . Class C is good way to travel in. I just subscribed. Look forward for more videos.
That’s awesome! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and leave a comment. Stay safe and enjoy your journey.😊

We are looking forward to your alaska adventures ❤ the bigger rigs cost more to move. We are looking forward to our adventures in our new class c.
Thank you! Besides the ease of the smaller rig the cost would be double with the class A.

Looking forward to your Alaska trip. We met you during the Hershey RV Show. We were happy to meet you and stay safe in your travels. 😊

A Super C is on our list for someday. Enjoy your trip to Alaska! Hopefully we’ll cross paths.😊
I think it’s a great idea. We have thought about buying a smaller camper to travel on long trips. Can’t wait to watch the adventure
Thank you! We are so excited for this adventure and can’t wait to take you along!
That's a great choice. Makes sense. You can always buy another big rig. Thanks for another great video 😁
Thanks for watching! Maybe someday we’ll get another large rv.
I think that’s a good decision. So excited for you guys. Good luck!
Thank you! We’re soooo excited!
You guys always impress me with your videos. Keep. Trucking

How exciting for you guys. North to Alaska!!! Someday I will be going. Jeff and I have been looking at small Class C’s also to replace my little trailer I use for summer camping. So much to think about.
Stoping to see family along the way is an extra bonus! So far the class C has been great! Good luck on finding the perfect class c for you.😊
Alaska sounds Awesome!!!! I thinks it's a great idea!! Smaller RV I would think would be easier and u can see more...enjoy u 2 so much 😊
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. Alaska should be so much fun!!
Love it! We have a Trend 25D, make sure to upgrade the suspension. We are also going to Alaska next with another couple with their rig. Awesome!!!
So far we are enjoying our Trend. Chris just received our Sumo Springs. Will probably install them next week. Maybe we'll cross paths next year while in Alaska! 😁
@@oureverydaygetaway we would love that or in Maryland since we both have our home base there. Havre de Grace
Glad to hear the small RV is only a temporary thing.... Could never live FT in an RV that small!! Alaska is in the future trip plans for us..... 🙂

No tow vehicle for us. We’ll see how it goes. Hopefully it’s a good decision on our part.
Good luck on your trip. I would have gone with a Super C but there are a lot of nice regular C on the market.
A Super C would have been great but it's way out of our price range. 😞
Makes sense to downsizing for the AK. Can't wait to see who is going with you guys to AK and see the content from there!
It’s all about the journey and the friendships made. Just like you guys!❤️
Would love to be a part of your trip
Our friends we met last year in Top Sail are planning it. If they decide to open it up to more RVers we’ll definitely let you know. 😊
We have Class C they are great 🎉 just like larger unit …. Yours is nice 👍 just too small for us .. Safe travels
If we were buying a class C for our everyday home it would be a larger one as well.
I’m wondering if you compared renting a class C for your Alaska trip to buying? If yes what was the price difference?
Yes, we looked into renting for this trip. It would have been $200. + a night for what we needed. Then when you added the extra for millage and insurance it was much cheaper to purchase one. Not sure what the exact difference will be until after our trip next year. We may end up selling it. We'll have to see what happens.
We plans on doing the same thing. For us it would be Alaska and Mexico.
If our trip to Alaska goes well in this little guys we would love to take it to Mexico as well.😊
Smaller is nice to get around. Our 27 foot 5th wheel is still a little big sometimes. Did you find a bike rack for the E bikes yet? Thanks From Wisconsin
We did find one just waiting for it to get back in stock.
I think it's a good idea to have the smaller rig for an Alaskan trip. However if you sell the class A you may not find another one as nice or for the same price.😮
That is Chris's concern about our class A. I'm ready to take the chance.😁
Good video 😊just saying that the class c you have suspension is not ment for ruff roads can be hard on your tires also 🤔😀 safe travels
Hopefully it works out for us. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. 😊
I’ve heard they’re easier to find service centers for the class C’s as well. Any truth to this?
We talked to a Canadian couple that told us its best to travel in a C for multiple reasons. Not sure about the service centers but definitely stands to reason it would be easier to have them serviced there than the class A’s.
I would like it 😊
We are so looking forward to traveling in this little guy.
You should do a live
We are actually doing one next Thursday at 7pm est. Love to see you tgere!💕
Off to Alaska without us?😢
Didn't know you wanted to go along. 😁
Pushing calling it a class c just because of the extra width. It should be a class b+. If you are a class c then what do you call the big class c.?
We only call it that because Winnebago does. I think they are all class C's. A couple manufactures told us there is no such thing as a class B. But who knows. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. 😊
IMO....a smart move. The boondocking issue, the smaller rig (ease of driving) and the fact you are going from diesel to gas

Where's Tucker?????????
He’s with us 🥰 just not in this video.
Cousin Anna says to nickname the new vehicle "Frances." :)
That's actually a good idea. I'll talk to Chris. Much Love! ❤
Less is more in many cases.
So very true!
I think for your purpose and trip to AK,it makes sense. You’ll find out now won’t ya? Lol
Yes, pretty much. Now that we've committed there's no turning back.
Towing the Jeep?
Nope. Actually looking forward to not towing.
You guys have been so coy about this. Now to guess who you're going with. I'm guessing Joel & Deb. And the Roadsmiths. This will be an awesome trip. Is Katrina going to cut her hair?
Your just going to have to keep watching to find out. 😁 Not any plans to cut my hair but then again you never know. 😊
The smaller is better for Alaska but you still have got one to pull your jeep
Don’t need a tow vehicle. We can use this one like a van or tag along with our friends.
If it works for you then go for it.
Thank you!
Have you been following Sondra & Dave??
I'm not familiar with a Sondra & Dave. What is the name of their channel?
I will probably regret this, but I have seven years of experience with cold weather in Michigan with a well modded 2017 23L .
However, six years worth of information just can’t be transferred over a simple email .
If interested, let me know .
That would be wonderful! Thank you. If you don't mind would you please contact us through our email address oureverydaygetaway@gmail.com
You'll be down to a van in no time. :)
Maybe Chris. LOL!!
I think a super c would be better to AK in lieu of your toy class c.
The super C comes with a much larger price tag.
You could pull the class C behind the Class A😜
That doesn't sound like much fun. 🤪
You should have got something to pull your jeep behind
We actually don’t want to tow anything. At least for this trip.
