Coming from someone who actually owns Constructicon Maximus, the "crane elbows" aren't how you might think. They actually kinda suck because the articulation's I say too fragile to be worth it. Especially since upon it's arrival in the mail maybe 2+ years ago the purple Decepticon logo literally rubbed off instantly before I could transform him. Though, I had a high school friend who had Superion Maximus
I'm still trying to get my hands on ROTF bruticus with the 1st release of Fans Project Explorer and Munitioner as well as a 3d printed upgrade for the energon brawl figure off from Shapeways
The movie set was nice to get all the figures in one pack but the energon figures had better colours but both are good. I just have the barricade and the full superion maximus but I would love to get all 3 combiners but Canadian shopping for old stuff is brutal
Ok I'm going to be serious here, these figures and the combiner, are so good. Like I don't have them but they seem like figures that would fit with the bayformers and the new WFC figures. Like you can't deny that they aren't fucking cool
I think that this toy is fabulous, particularly because the colouration serves the ROTF Combaticons well. On top of that, Energon molds, and Unicron Trilogy molds in general, have such charm. I own two of the three "Maximus" combiner molds, one being Energon Constructicon Maximus and the other being ROTF Superion, and this is the only one that I'm missing. From everything I've seen, I vastly prefer the ROTF colouration for the Combaticons rather than the Energon colouration for the Destruction Team from Energon. I think that this combiner is definitely the next portion for me. Also, just because I've seen people criticizing it here, I just love the orange Energon chips and weaponry! It definitely detracts from the realistic aesthetic that they were going for, but in the end, it makes them look a lot cooler in my opinion. Anyways, great toy, and great review, man!

The original Energon colors were definitely better, but to go even further, you can get what I belive to be the best energon *Bruticus* by using the red A10 from Superion to be Blast off, and the yellow bulldozer from Devestator/Constructicon to be Swindle. The green tank and darker helicopter being Brawl and Vortex.

I have that Japan exclusive Megatron! It's an alright figure, hope his sword doesn't warp like mine did, it took me quite a while to get it straightened out.

I used to own energon onslaught and he was such a good figure as a kid. I miss him
I have this set and the fansproject plus the shadowfisher upgrade to that set and then i switched out rotf onslaught for the energon barrage
I have Superion Maximus with a mix of Energon and ROTF bots, including 2 air raids and the arms mistransformed to give him elbows
I've noticed that the tank guys get knocked off quite a bit for some reason. Maybe that's why you get that bootleg feeling from them

I have the supirion one and it sucks I have the bruticus one to but it is in the box and it just looks better in the box
