I would love to try Fassionola but it's not handy and requires a lot of ingredients. I have done the Hurricane with just Passionfruit Purée & Lemon Juice. For rum I tend to use a blend of Plantation Original Dark & Pusser's Admiralty which is very delicious. Do add alcohol to purées, creme of coconut etc. and refrigerate and they last a very long time.
Steve, I’m not sure if you’ve ever done a dark n stormy deconstruction, if you haven’t I’d love to see that. I tend to prefer it with Jamaican, but a good old OFTD also makes it perfect. I even enjoy it with Diplomatico Reserva. Some people add bitters, others leave it out. Also, my favourite ginger beer is Bundaberg.
There is a Dark Rum version on my Channel. But not done a “different rum” version. And it does need updating cos of the Worthy 109. But that said, it’s a weird one, cos it’s a “Dark and Stormy”. Don’t get me wrong. I do love it with other Rums. But if it ain’t a Black Rum, you can handful call it dark. So it’s kinda limited by name alone.

To my understanding Fassionola should taste like Hawaiian Punch. I’ve also heard Hawaiian Punch was created to be a Fassionola soft drink

No, sorry. Thats the whole point of it, its a homemade syrup.
