7 miles to the gallon that's why 150 miles for 25 gal
They are big comfy but underpowered gas hungry like you will never know the carbureted models you floor it and it won't break 85 on flat roads with normal tires and rims petal to the floor chugging fuel they are heavy uneconomical to an extreme

@T-bone_225 If you have outstanding debt, you can file Bankruptcy once every seven years and be cleared completely, but any assets you have get taken to be sold to pay back whatever you can of that debt. If that is the case with this, whoever filed was probably in the hole for hundreds of thousands if not millions. Probably a failed business? But who knows really.

It wouldn't surprise me if someone died. The surviving family didn't value this project vehicle. Just an old eyesore to them, taking up space in the garage or driveway.
Someone might have moved to a new home with an HOA that forced them to get rid of it through harassment or fines.

Like most cars I see it's usually a dead parent or grandpa and it's pretty simple they have no time to deal with it so they try and trade it in for something new and the dealership just sends it to auction to get whatever out of it
@@Averagegamer673 Never can be sure what's going on. You would be surprised at how harsh some HOA's are about vehicles, project cars and work vehicles with advertising on them. I worked at a used car dealership. A vehicle like that would be sold for cash. Cheap. To someone. Demand is high. I picked up a Ford Bronco like this one that someone left parked at a prison. It was intact and ran. The dealership parked it, since they got the call to tow it away from police. The truck stayed at their lot till the statue of limitations ran out on it. An auction was held and no one came to bid on it. The dealership then applied for a title and took ownership of it. They sold it for cash. If they couldn't sell it. They might take it to a special auction where hoopdies are often taken and sold off. Alternatively there are also private companies and individuals who will come and haul a vehicle like that away and pay cash for it as well. If someone is single and gets arrested. They might lose their vehicle in various ways as well.
Or the owner fell on hard times. Divorce, drugs, injury.

Somebody definently repainted it, if it was factory paint and the locks are gone, there would be rust and worn off paint where the lock used to be. But whoever repainted it did a great job. Engine sounds great and I honestly would buy it, interior is beautiful as well
Also because they took the time to do a better paint job with removing some pieces, I'm going to assume that underneath is in decent shape also, otherwise i don't think anyone would put this much work into it.
I don’t know about how it came here, but I know it’s going for cheap, however I think there might be a few kinks in the car, or maybe it was just under appreciated by someone, maybe the owner passed, however I wanna see it with someone who loves this

My stepfather used to own one, bought it from a estate sale in the early 90s. Three years later it got stolen and found burn to the ground. Miss that Bronco.
It's exactly 4 a lot of the reasons you pointed out that a lot of people love these but nobody love the fuel economy in them my dad had the one with the small V8 in it the 302 he never got better than ten miles to the gallon often he would get 7 mi to the gallon

@@gooblako well I also remember him complaining about only getting 150 Miles for a 25 gal tank of fuel so affordable or not it was annoying why he ultimately sold it was tired of having to fill up every 2_3 days
His had the 25 gallon but for whatever reason he could never get better than 10 mpg 302 carbureted with 4spd AOD it's a common complaint supposed to have something to do with vaporization and other things but a lot of them get less than 10 the complaints drop dramatically with fuel injection but I've herd of plenty of fuel injection models barely managing 13 mpg

I have a bronco of the same vintage(1988) and it is a hell of a machine. Awesome in winter and even cooler in the summer with the top off
My dad wants a ‘79 Ford Branco as a cruising truck that he can take wherever, he’s getting older and I appreciate him a lot and for what he’s done for me and others he’s around, when I get outta high school and after I hopefully work in Navy as an officer for sometime I’ll be able to get him the Bronco he’s always wanted.
i went to see my grandparents and i saw a bronco like this but white, without a hood, and i heard a turbo whistle.... sweetest sleeper ever!
Being that I'm 51 and have owned several of these I wouldn't hesitate to pick that up. They are very durable and can fit a variety of engine and tranny combos. Interiors are ridiculously customizable with tons of room for add ons inside and out.
As soon as he opened the door I could just SMELL the inside of that truck. My cousins and grandfather have owned several old Ford trucks from the 70s and that old Ford interior smell is something I’ll never forget
I gave my Bronco to a brother (military) that did not have transportation and even though it was my favorite vehicle he needed it more.

I had a 92 Eddie Bauer edition one of the best vehicles I’ve ever owned 6 inch lift 33 inch tires man do I miss that truck

That is my wife's favorite vehicle one like that 88 Eddie Bower green and tan saved her life in a rear end collision, lady hit her doing 55 miles. And never touched her brakes and rear ended my wife. There was literally I dent the size of my thumb under the left rear tail light. And a Dent the size of a hot dog, length and girth in the bottom of the tailgate. That's all that's all, the Reese hitch took the whole brunt of the accident and sheared off 6- 5/8" bolts. That's all that's all the damage there was, beautiful vehicles very safe.
Also the lady that hit her was driving a lincoln town car the big model and totaled the car we drove the bronco home.
The older Bronco's are asome. I had one for year's it was a 93 if I remember right. Loved the 4 wheel drive with the manual lock out hub's. Only down side gas mileage was not very good. Other than that it was great.
Drive this exact same bronco, trippy seeing it in that good of a condition in a yard. Better condition than 90% of the ones for sale online
My grandpa had a 4th gen when I was a kid shit was massively lifted with 40 inch tires on it, neither i or him could make it in without a stool 😂 but we used to cruise all the time in it with the top down in Vegas in the early 2000s
That seat belt alarm was so nostalgic my dad's 98 navigator had the same exact seat belt alarm
Its 100% repainted because it has 92-96 mirrors on it which would leave holes in the door from the old mirrors. The tailgate panel is also removed which would leave holes. It also has an aftermarket rear bumper. Still pretty dang clean though.

We had a beautiful '87 Bronco. Fun to drive, but damn if it wasn't $100 everytime you started it up. Endless problems and oil leaks. Rear main leak in the 351 was a problem in those years.

The Bronco and the full size Blazer of that time are just awesome trucks, up here in New England we don't see very many of them if you do they are usually rotted to the door handles
I got real lucky and found one in RI that was originally from new mexico. Didnt even try to talk him down lol it was love at first sight.

@@bertbccfu9564 without a doubt,my first car was a 2003 maxima 6 speed that I regret selling but there is no chance of finding a decent one at all anywhere around New England. When I was looking for a bronco there were a few available and the others I passed on were just like you said, rotted all over and in pretty rough shape and they were still within a few thousand as the one I bought. Picked her up with 142k, no rust anywhere on the frame and only a few dings in the faded paint for 8500. Keep your eyes open, you may see me lol I'm near the ct ma border.

I have a 1991 Bronco. Its got a nice ride .
I had a 1993 XLT bronco 2tone white and blue with 351 V8 and push button 4x4 with electric hubs 9/10 interior 8/10 paint exterior. 2nd owner the top was never taken off. Flow master exhaust, thing was a beast so much fun to drive turned heads everywhere. I sold it for 6,000 to pay the doctor when my son was born right before the new broncos came out and the old ones sky rocketed in value. It’d be worth around 20k if I still had it. The guy I sold it to completely ruined it took the top off and put a rag top on it. thrashed the interior. Lifted it and destroyed the paint off roading it dented the bumpers and quarter panels on rocks it’s just garbage now
