Biggest difference for me in race pro (besides choosing what settings I like) is the increased decel pops. It's pretty noticeable at least on both of my bikes. S1K is lookin good man!
I ride in race pro on the street and on the track. I ride both. You have to get your suspension set up for your weight as well. I set up race pro at the track day once that is set up you will comfortable on both the street and track. I’m an intermediate to advanced track rider and come from motocross back ground.
i got the same bike the difference is the throttle response and also in road mode there is no pop when you let go of throttle but in race pro or even race mode there is pops and bangs thats the only difference
I'd say the ones who notice a sound difference are the ones who still run with their cats... part of the strategy between modes is to make the exhaust flap open much sooner.... guys like your self with a full system ain't gonna notice anything
That's why in race pro you set the DCC to 2. It gives you more response with the plush ride. Much better that any other mode. You didn't hear the pops in the exhaust? No exhaust sounds unless you are in race pro. You only really get the pops on decel. At low rpm. Also in the road mode the throttle mapping is crappy.
Race Pro gives you the pops and bangs....thats the real difference when you are on the street. Its easy enough to set it up as soft as you like for the street, then set Race Pro 2 for the more aggressive state...from there its easy enough to switch between RP1 and RP2. It made a HUGE difference in sound on decel with the bangs and pops on my M1KRR...but yeah, other than that your not going to get a lot of difference. I increased my engine braking as well. I removed all the other modes except the 2 I use..so its easier to pop between the 2. I never used any of the other modes anyhow so why have them....I am glad BMW allows you to customize your dash...I removed all th modes I dont use and also all the extra displays of hours ridden, all the extra tripometer stuff I never look at etc....I kept my gas guage, miles, temp, and 1 tripometer...removed all the rest...
John, every one of your videos makes me want to get an S1k I actually got approved for one and I got cold feet lol. I ride a 22 Gixxer 750 which is a great bike whole other world on the S1k I can only imagine. I live in CA and the dealer selling it has a deal where you get 3.9 apr and a 1000$ rebate. Should I do it?
I would do it if I were you. I'm trying to sell my Cadillac CT5 so I can get one but unfortunately I haven't had any takers. So imo I would do it if I were you. Good luck with it!!!

Yeah, you're correct NO difference in after market exhaust.

To add to my other comment, it doesn't add HP of course. It's simple. The throttle response of dynamic and the plush ride of road. You missed it
