    I like to think that lorule has different virtues represented in the triforce. Link, Zelda, and ganondorf each displayed their propensities for their triforce piece prior to receiving them, so I think ravio, Hilda, and yuga should show their virtues as well. While ravio did not show courage, he did have the ability to enter dungeons and find the items within to sell. Hilda didn’t have the wisdom to see yuga’s true intentions, but she did play a vital role in coming up with the plans for obtaining a new triforce. Yuga had power, but didn’t really have the drive to use it until learning of the new triforce. I like to think the virtues of the lorule triforce are something to the tune of stealth, knowledge, and strength. Similar, but not quite the same.

      I'm of a similar mindset. While I don't think the Triforce would be about Cowardice, Foolishness and Weakness just because those traits were apparent in the characters of Lorule, I think it was probably other virtues and the characters could've been lacking those virtues due to the destruction of their Triforce.

    • @Radien

      Yeah, although it was quite astute of fans to point out that the three characters arguably have those traits, it doesn't make any sense that an all-powerful relic would SEEK OUT people with those traits. And what kind of person values ignorance? (Aside from a certain American political party LAWL POLITICS JOKE)
      The thing about any language is that there is a way to phrase most personal qualities as either a virtue or a flaw. For instance, “stubbornness” can be framed as “persistence.”
      Likewise, the inverse virtues of Wisdom, Courage, and Power could be... I dunno... Intelligence, Cunning, and... Resilience....? I'm not sure what would describe Yuga; I've only played through LBW once. 🤷🏼‍♀️

    I always thought that Yuga and Hilda complimented one another in the same way that Link and Zelda compliment each other in Hyrule. Yuga being a mirror of both Ganondorf and Impa. I do like that the three main Lorulean characters all know each other while in Hyrule Link and Zelda meet for the first time and Ganon is sealed away. It really makes you think about what is going on behind the scenes in Lorule, and I wished we could have seen more of it.

    Their triforce can't be based on power wisdom and courage because hilda said: "A triforce based on such virtues as power, wisdom, and courage." From the fact that she needed to mention this we can infer that their triforce wasn't based on those same virtues, Not necesseraly the opposite but not the same.

      You presume that the Lorulian Triforce embodies characteristics opposite to the Hyrulian Triforce. But you also don't consider that perhaps it has the opposite effect as well. By that I mean, the Triforce of Power makes Ganondorf powerful. But the same effect can be achieved by making others weaker, therefore the Triforce of Weakness could potentially allow the user to enfeeble other people thereby becoming powerful yourself by comparison.
      Likewise, the Triforce of Fear would be useful as would the Triforce of Ignorance when it grants the user the ability to inflict these weaknesses on others. Given this concept of ying and yang that is present in Eastern culture it is not unexpected for Lorule to literally embody the opposite of Hyrule. As mentioned in this video; courage is the act of acting despite fear. Likewise power is the result of overcoming weaknesses and wisdom is attained by admitting ignorance.
      The idea that Demise is not from Lorule is also ignoring one very simple fact of this duality - who was Hylia's counterpart? Some may say that since Zelda is the reincarnation of Hylia then Hilda is the same. But Hilda had no powers other than telepathy. So could it be that while Hyrule was blessed with Hylia, Lorule was cursed with Demise? Let's not also forget that it was Hylia who first wielded the Goddess Sword and Demise had a dark equivalent.

    • @MrZangetsu468
      @MrZangetsu468 4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Kryyss X I’m glad you raised the point about Demise. If it were simply an inverted Triforce which was gold (or another colour) on his sword it would be different. However, it’s a blacked out Triforce looking almost identical to the symbol in Lorule’s Sacred Realm, added that Demise and his demons came from “fissures” in Hyrule’s land/ terrain. Demise stated in SS that he’d take the entire Triforce by force(probably true as Hylia wasn’t strong enough to kill him, she could only seal him) with the inference being that if he’s from Lorule, he would’ve done the same with their Triforce.. Boom! All of a sudden there’s an answer to why in addition the the wars waged, Hilda’s ancestor(s) destroyed Lorule’s Triforce. They didn’t have a Goddess ruling their world, they had Demise. With this reasoning, there was never any Master Sword in Lorule, but it’s quite possible that Demise’ sword was born out of the virtues of Lorule’s Triforce being destroyed(possibly by him, but this is never explained), which is the opposite of how the Master Sword was forged.

    The way the characters struggle between the positive and negative sides of their virtue much resembles the Tarot Arcana. The Arcana each represent a progression through a different part of life, yet they hold a different meaning when reversed (viewed upside down). The upright Arcana represents progress but the reverse Arcana represent regression or entrapment within this virtue (i.e Upright Strength is confidence, courage and self control whereas reverse it's self doubt). The characters start off reversed leading to the fall of Lorule but through the story become upright.

    • @chiffmonkey
      @chiffmonkey 4 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      I have a sneaking suspicion that Gdorf might make a move on the Triforce of Courage in the BotW sequel. After all, it would've taken a fair bit of it to endure that imprisonment/torture for so long. With Zelda now de-facto ruler of Hyrule she'll come to prominence as the central power in the land, and Link... may just have to wise up to just how much he doesn't yet understand about Hyrule's past and the nature of evil.

      I don't think two individuals finding their courage and wisdom would be enough to bring back a destroyed relic of the gods.... but I do believe their newfound virtues gave Link and Zelda the confidence to believe that they could bring their land back from the brink of ruin.
      After all, would L & Z have wished for Lorule's Triforce to be restored if Hilda had resolved to use it to invade Hyrule? Or if Ravio didn't have the strength to plead for peace? Or if R & H couldn't stand up to Yuga, and he conquered Lorule, only to turn its Triforce against Hyrule?...
      After all, conversely... if GANON ever managed to conquer Hyrule, and he was aware of the existence of parallel worlds, you can bet your booty that he'd try to conquer those other worlds, too.

    • @MrZangetsu468
      @MrZangetsu468 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      The most likely explanation for the ending is Link.+ Zelda’s wish was for prosperity in Lorule, reversing the major atrocity of their Triforce being destroyed. This is similar to ALTTP Link’s wish whereby Ganon’s evil deeds were reversed. It’s unlikely they specifically wished them another Triforce, otherwise one could hypothetically keep wishing for and creating more Triforces.

    You never mentioned how the courage and wisdom through opposites of those traits could apply to Yuga. As you said, he was never weak, he was always powerful. But that's where you left it. No speculation on how it might still fit with the other stuff. But here's my thoughts: Yuga DID consider himself weak and through that weakness gained immense power. Ganondorf, his counterpart, was always so sure of his own abilities and strength. Yuga may not have been that way. The loss of the Triforce might have led him to believe he was nothing without that power. He was weak-willed. He may have considered it shameful to use Hilda to become powerful again. Not morally, but pridefully. He needed to ask his lesser for power. Something he might have despised having to do. But through that weakness, he became powerful.
    Of course, I'm probably forgetting something in the game that proves this theory totally wrong.

      Malladus may have existed for eons before(outside of old Hyrule) but he only assumed the position of “Demon King” after Ganondorf was gone. Bellum seems to be a manifestation of Malice which has overtaken a regular living organism(squid).

      Taran It’s implied but not confirmed. Pupsicle mentioned Majora’s Mask being on Link’s wall in ALBW as one example. We know MM came from Termina due to the Stone Tower and the events of the game, but the Happy Mask Salesman had possession of it at least during/ directly after OOT... However, the in the ‘Hero is Defeated’ Timeline he never gets robbed by Skull Kid and never ends up back in Termina, and therefore the events of MM, the Moon crashing and the eventual awakening of Majora and the Fierce Deity(via Child Link, which only occurs in the Child Timeline) doesn’t occur. The mask, therefore remains stagnant and is perhaps gifted to Link by the HMS, where it remains on his wall(as a F4F ornament) for generations.... Or it’s an Easter egg. The truth is the variable elements for each of the Zelda Timelines are actually Timeline specific. Really aside from BotW, it’s quite straight forward when it comes to the distinction between the 3 timelines. i.e. The Twilight Realm with the Interlopers’ War and Backstory - at least according to HH - doesn’t occur in all 3 timelines. Therefore the events regarding the Twilight Realm don’t apply in the ‘Hero is Defeated’ or ‘Adult’ Timelines.

    I absolutely love link between worlds! Hilda and Ravio were amazing characters who had good character development and stood up despite their errors and shortcomings, even straying from the rigth path.... I love these kinda characters bcz it shows humanity at its best! Hilda's redemption was❤️❤️❤️👌🏽 also these characters were rly interesting to me bcz usually zelda and link are portrayed like they know what they're doing, never faltering,facing everything bravely head on and that's not relatable to me😂😅

      Doesn't it make sense that a link exists and that another is born when the previous one is supposed to be still alive, how would the soul reincarnate?
      It's stupid to say that, it doesn't make sense (besides it happened like 200 years after a link to the past), it's probably just a nice tribute that has nothing to do with the link from a link to the past xd.

    I had always thought that Likk and Zelda wished that Lorule's Triforce would return to them using their Triforce, but this makes a lot of sense. Maybe both actions caused the Lorule Triforce to return, or the wish brought it into existence, and the growth of character reempowered it.

    After watching this, I'm beginning to wonder if Lorule is in any way related to the Twilight Realm, as both are dark parallels to Hyrule. One of the connections I found was that between the three main characters of each realm, as they share the same virtues at first. Zant is like Ravio in refusing to stand up to Midna's claim to the throne and searching for another solution, Midna is like Hilda in foolishly ignoring the needs of Hyrule, and Ganon is like Yuga in forming a plan to use others foolishness to gain power. Like how Hilda and Ravio's weaknesses are corrected, so are that of Zant and Midna, with Zant gaining courage from his new power and Midna gaining selflessness by witnessing Zelda's selfless sacrifice.

    I would love to see either a LoZ game based entirely in Lorule, or a glimpse 'like an expansion/dlc' of BotW2 having a Lorule overworld to explore.
    Actually that idea would make for an awesome expansion/dlc of not just a Lorule overworld, but also a Twilight realm overworld in the present day Hyrule timeline, because if they also follow the same flow of time, then both Lorule and the Twilight realm has centuries of time that has passed since their respective games.

    I love how lorule is alternate universe compared to hyrule. Meaning the theory multiverses may exist within game could be true. I think Demise originally was a god of some sort he lived within the sacred realm amongst the gods but saw to overrule them. Meaning Demise wanted create and rule worlds himself by using the triforce. Unfortunately the gods saw to banish Demise because of his schemes to over through him. The gods created many worlds or universe to test who can defeat demise’s evil once and for all. Thank you guys so much for this video.

    • @wtcvidman
      @wtcvidman 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All we know is that it's an alternate world. It's not an alternate universe because it's tied to Hyrule, but more like a parallel world much like Termina was in Majora's Mask. For all we know it could be on the same planet, like the southern hemisphere or something. But we don't really know and we also don't know if the same gods that made Hyrule made Lorule as well. And we don't know what virtues the Triforce of Lorule was based on. All we know is that the Triforce of Hyrule restored Lorule's Triforce because it would grant whatever wish those who possessed it would wish. That means it can restore the Triforce that may have been created by an alternate set of gods because it had the power to do anything. I definitely don't think the same gods created a multiverse. The way I see it, each Zelda universe/timeline contains its own version of Hyrule, Lorule, Termina, Holodrum, Labrynna, and all the other non-Hyrule locations presented in Zelda games because they are all tied to their own version of Hyrule, otherwise which Hyrule would a Hylian visitor going to those lands return to upon going home? If anything, ALttP's Hyrule should be considered an alternate universe compared to that of adult & child timelines if you look at what the timeline gave us, but the timeline is non-canon because Nintendo themselves said they could change it at any time as they already did somewhat in the Zelda Encyclopedia with Link's Awakening. But if the timeline was followed, the downfall scenario was just that---a what if scenario. So the entire downfall timeline by that logic would not be a timeline but an alt universe because the events are mutually exclusive and can not happen in the same universe as the one where OoT & MM happened.
      I have a much different idea of Demise that I'd like to make a theory about because I think many people would like it greatly.

  • @ZeranZeran

  • @KryyssTV
    @KryyssTV 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Keep in mind that Hyrule is not the only kingdom known to exist. Holodrum and Labrynna also exist. Since the goddesses are seemingly the source of all life and considered the creators of "Hyrule" it would seem that there is the land of Hyrule and the kingdom of Hyrule. Kind of like how we have New York state and New York City. Therefore it isn't unlikely that Lorule and Termina exist within the same alternate realm but are different kingdoms of the same land.
    One interesting fact though is that we've never been given an origin for the Interpolers who eventually became the Twili. Yet, when you visit the Twilight Realm you can see that the Twili themselves appear to be a mixture of races with some even resembling Gorons. Given the Interloper/Twili's fascination with masks combined with their name "interloper" you have to wonder if these were citizens from Lorule who entered Hyrule through the breach in the Sacred Realm following the destruction of the Lorulian Triforce who intended to steal the Hylian Triforce.

    I feel like it's more likely that the mentioned war is actually the counterpart of the Interloper War, rather than the Imprisoning War. The Interloper war was fought over the Triforce. The Imprisoning war was only about keeping Ganon and his forces inside of the Dark World, who'd already gotten ahold of the Triforce by then. This means that Hilda's ancestors would not have access to it to destroy it. So, it's more likely that Lorule has some unknown and distinct history but being dimensionally locked to Hyrule as a mirror means that similar outcomes will happen, and mirrors of all people born in Hyrule will be born in Lorule. Thus, Lorule in the DT mirrors Hyrule in the DT, but probably didn't face its own version of the Imprisoning war especially considering their mirror of Ganon was still, well, not Ganon and Yuga is only a symbollic mirror, not a literal, dimensional mirror as Ganon's existence is bound to Demise who did not have a Lorule counterpart.
    Also, the Master Sword was likely never forged in Lorule, and Hilda's bloodline exists to mirror Zelda, but does not originate from a mirrored goddess. Hylia and Demise's existence are rooted outside of Hyrule, and Lorule is strictly a mirror of Hyrule, meaning that it does not contain a mirror of Hylia or Demise.

The would-be hero Ravio displays Wisdon. The desperate Princess displays immense power. And the mad painter ventures across dimensions to enact his evil plot, something that took immense Courage.

    Vaguely on topic, I noticed that Ravio and Kafei from Majora’s Mask have similar colour schemes - purple clothes and darker purple/indigo hair. This could indicate a connection between Lorule and Termina, but I think there’s a bigger takeaway - does this confirm that Kafei is Link’s Terminian equivalent? There’s some hints that he’s Link’s opposite - purple is the opposite of green in rgb colour schemes, he’s an adult who magically becomes a child, as opposed to Link who’s a child that magically became an adult in OoT, and there’s a section where you play as him (I believe the first playable character other than Link in a Zelda game?). These are all potential clues but it was never confirmed. Then comes ALBW, with a character who is 100% confirmed to be Link from another universe, Ravio. Now purple clothes were kind of a given - as I said before it’s the rgb opposite of green, and through the game Link wears red and blue, meaning that purple would stand out, but the hair - dark purple is not a natural hair colour, why not black or brown hair? Was it to create a connection with Kafei? We may never know for sure, but I think it could be

    I think the virtues of the lorulean triforce are diferent but mirrors hyrule's in a certain way while still being virtues a true leader of people would need:
    Rabio isn't a courageous hero, who sword in hand mows down hordes of monsters. But he is more of the greek anti hero archetype, the hero that through his mind and sometimes manipulation finds a way to do the imposible so I believe he represents: Guile/Cunning.
    The ancestors of hilda give up the chance of imense power to stop the wars and she herself put a quick actually working plan to capture the triforce of another kingdom, finally when she saw the error of her ways she didn't really think twice about saving Hyrule even if it costed her the ultimate price.
    I think she has the virtue of resolve something she doesn't lacks but can make you make foolish mistakes out of short-sigthness.
    Finally Yuga, Yuga its a strange case, he isn't really weak and despite being powerful it isn't the thing he is most proud of, he mentoins beauty a lot but all in all it doesn't seem like a virtue you would put on the triforce.
    I believe his virtue its what became his sickness and the origin of his obsecion with beauty:
    Flawlessness/perfection, he wants to destroy lorule and remade it from scratch without a single "blemish"
    If you take a flawless resolute and cunning leader wouldn't you follow him? sounds as good as a courageos strong wise king .

  • @wtcvidman
    @wtcvidman 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    The Imprisoning War is not the counterpart to Lorule destroying their Triforce. The Imprisoning War was the aftermath to Ganon having acquired the Triforce, tainting the Golden Land into the Dark World, transforming Hylians who ended up in the Dark World into monsters that joined his army, and ultimately sending them to Hyrule to attack the kingdom so Ganon himself could take over unopposed. It was the war to seal off the Dark World before Ganon escaped it himself and brought his godlike power (since he had the full Triforce) to Hyrule. If anything, the destruction of Lorule's Triforce could be the counterpart of the era where those with greed for the Triforce were searching for it everywhere when knowledge of where the Golden Land could be entered was lost to everyone, even to the wise men/sages. That was the era when Ganondorf in ALttP's backstory was one of those searching for it and was the one who found the entrance with his gang of thieves. But there's nothing that says that the Lorulean version of that event happened at the same time as Hyrule's. While the 2 lands have counterparts of each other's characters, their histories can be drastically different.

    Maybe the reason the Dark World looks like Lorule is because Ganon (Demise) had the memory of his old home and the rules of the sacred realm turned into what it is. The timeline might not sum up but maybe they just got rid of the Triforce before Demise came out of the ground. Or maybe time works differently between Hyrule and Lorule.
    In addition to this, of time where to work differently, maybe Ternmina is Lorule since we do see I’m the Stone Tower Temple a figure of the Triforce being mocked. Plus it was established that the Terminian Royal family was in Ikana. Or maybe Termina is what is in between Hyrule and Lorule, being a “terminal” between the two worlds.
    Maybe a bit before the events of Majoras Mask, Termina had recently destroy it’s Triforce, but centuries later the world little by little got more and more corrupted, until the world turned into the Twilight realm.
    I know these theories are kinda convoluted and don’t make sense, but if someone is able to organize it and give it your own spin, be free too.
