    I just bought 6 of these from Dan's fish. This is exactly the video I needed to see to properly care for these unique Corydora! I consider these an investment. I have never seen these at any of my LFS.

    This is great. We have just had afew imports of these to new zealand recently, so it's cool to see a decent video on the species.

    Local shop has these in right now. Pricey. I have no interest in keeping rare expensive corys but I was curious about the species so here I am.

    Hi Tim,
    I share your love of the little catfish and have also kept blue sapphire discus in the past. Can you do a video of my favorite Cory the Adolfoi corydoras? I also love the Sterbai, Similis and the Melini too, lots of these guys !

      @@fishgeek do you have some quick tips? i know the cooler water when doing a water change but like food and special plants or something in the tank?

    • @fishgeek
      @fishgeek  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure feed them up with live food until females ready to burst. Cool water change to drop tank temp by 2-3c . Ideally time it for the weather to be raining as well. Turn up flow in filter as well. Keep the water changes to 2 times a week

      @@fishgeek i live in Denmark its always raining :) but thank you i will feed them some more live food :) what do you recommend? freshly hatched brine schrimp would be to small right?

    • @fishgeek
      @fishgeek  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They will love them, white worm and black worm, blood worm.. I know some will be concerned by parasites from these, so it is a risk but it defo works to spawn them

    Thanks for the info on the not-venezuela black. I am considering either the venezuela orange for my tank or the black. But from your video I gather they are two different kinds of cory. Do you know anything about the venezuela orange? It should be a little shorter than the schultzei black then, right? And do you know anything about their character? I love Paleatus cories, for example.

    • @fishgeek
      @fishgeek  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for asking. C.Venezuelanus is the species you refer to another one shops add orange to the name 🤦‍♂️. They are another lovely species, very colourful and quite bold definitely one I would encourage all to keep. Here is link to the species on my website planetcorydoras.com/index.php/product/corydoras-venezuelanus/

      @@fishgeek Thank you for the superquick reply. I have been offered eight young ones. I was planning to get the Paleatus because I love them so much in our other aquarium, but these oranges seem to be really great fish as well. Will look great on my black soil.

    • @fishgeek
      @fishgeek  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No probs, Bear in mind on black substrate over time the orange will turn much darker, even black. I always recommend natural colour sand for this reason 👍

    I saw them in a fish store with the name “black Venezuela “ . I think I am gonna get them tomorrow . Is it really necessarily to get them in 6 ? Cause the tank where I wanna get them habe already panda Coridoras and many other Amazon nano fish , I’m worried if I get 6 it would be too many .

    Hey, can you give me your take on this fish? I got a group recently, they came in pretty bad shape. I've been trying to treat them but it hasn't been easy. You find them sensitive in terms of genetics?

    • @fishgeek
      @fishgeek  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not normally, obviously they are in-bread so you may have a weak group. What’s the issue with them ?

    • @stevenone968
      @stevenone968 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@fishgeek Thanks for the reply. They came in very pale, they did regain a bit of color now. Only come out in the dark, Some of them I can touch them and pick them up by hand. This is because of their condition surely, it is the exact opposite I've seen with bronze corys, also some fin rot. Time will tell how it goes, I wasn't sure if this was a natural variation found in the wild but makes sense them having heavy inbreeding and being in this condition, as my bronze corys came from a dirty shop in bad condition too (1 year now) and are doing great today

    • @fishgeek
      @fishgeek  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s sounds like they have been in rough conditions. I would
      Suggest using salt in the qt tank 3g per litre this resolve many transport issues 👍
