Quo always were a, 'fun', band. They never took themselves too seriously, which made them appeal to a lot of people. So, it's no wonder why they became part of the British institution. Everyone, then, knew at least one Quo song, even if it was only, 'Rockin' All Over The World.' There's so many album tracks I could mention that would give a good representation of what Quo were really all about. Their heyday was between '72 and '76, but they made oh so much infectious music after then. The secret, of course, was, 'getting', them, i.e. understanding what they were all about. Once you get the Quo bug, then there's so much to appreciate. 'One Man Band', from their, 'rock til you drop', album is a great example.
Heydays the ONLY 4 years as a four piece band?? Stupidest thing I've ever read, but read it 4500 Times before from Alan Lancaster fans who HATE keyboards - hence the Hello album where Andy played has to be shite, right? + if those 4 years were their heydays, how come they sold LOADS more copies of WYP (2nd place in UK charts),than the number ONE - Down Down - who sold ca 500 000 - which is 250 000 LESS than What Your Proposing sold! PLease explain - or on 2nd thought, please don't explain :p
From memory, its been said that part 1 and part 2 were released in the wrong order., and Quo really are the kings of putting a medley together, they do this at their concerts so they can play as manty hits as possible.
I was lucky enough to see Status Quo 3 or 4 times, at one of they`re concerts they turned off all the lights in the concert hall and left us in pitch black for some time and then they burst onto stage with a blaze of lights and straight into they`re Down Down hit, it was electrifying, i`ll never forget it, they really know how to work a crowd into a high.
I am a huge Status Quo fan. I lost my dad 7 years ago who was also a massive status quo fan. I am 35 and have lost count of the amount of times I have seen them live. Seeing them again in March and can not wait. Its great to see your reactions. I take a a lot of comfort in listening to Status Quo just as my dad and me use to ever since I was a small child rocking with my Dad. Consider this, Quo tickets are now starting to come out for the 2024 European tour and all 15 venues in Germany are sold out, the UK tickets go on sale next week, a band that started in the early '60s and have toured every year from the beginning, what other band could match that.

I took my parents to see Status Quo when they were in their mid 80's. Cue two old farts getting crazy. I think they've seen them 4 times since then. Another 4 tickets have been bought for their next visit. My mother is 94 now and the big man is 97. Keep on rocking weirdos.
The best! And if you like this medley, please find out and try the live "Roadhouse blues medley" from 1991.. Quo are famous for their medleys because of all their hits can beplayed during the same concert.. ;)

Check out Backstreet Girls! They also play boogie rock, with some other influences, like punk and rock'n roll, and they have a rawer sound than Status Quo. Whom the also have opened for. Not so many good quality videos with them, but you should find some.

And Rossi can avoid as many solos as possible so medleys were great idea

Seen them loads, you leave a Quo gig with your ears ringing and a huge smile on your face, I do miss Rick, it's just not the same without him.

The manager suggested Quo do these medleys to keep the name alive, dreadful compared to their back catalouge.
As a big Quo fan myself I found these medleys quite fun but do agree that they can't compare to the back catalogue.
