New Ultra Shortcut on Alpine Peak

This ultra marks the first successful application of Dayclipping, a relatively new tech found by xnik and Thomas that allows you to phase through road by leaving only a single wheel on the road and then pushing it through. As of now this is the only ultra shortcut that uses this tech, but there's definitely more to come in the future. It's also likely this track has a lot left in the tank both for flap and 3lap, so expect more of this ultra in the future.
Normally with Dayclipping, the "clipping" part is only possible where the slope of the road changes, but by bonking a barrel roll wall to flip over, I can clip through with barely enough speed to land on the track below. Once there, I go back to touch a checkpoint behind the finish line (being careful to satisfy the 95% rule) and respawn in the nearby water, then turn around and touch the last key checkpoint for the lap count.
While this idea is very new (theorized it like yesterday), there was another, much older idea that involves skipping the last key checkpoint backwards and then riding on a seam out-of-bounds all the way up to the finish line, but it unfortunately falls flat at the very end due to a small invisible wall that we couldn't make it around.

This is absolutely wild. Would be interesting to see if this ever would be possible with bikes because of more utility (and maybe higher road eject clips), but still is really cool to see even with karts. The only rts that seem to have potential with this in my opinion are DDR, rPB, rMR, and rDKJP, but even then they each have their own problems ofc

Hi Michael, I just downloaded ctgp on my Wii and the resolution is terrible compared to your gameplay. My question is how do you get your game to look so hd? I looked it up and couldn’t find anything. Are u running it on an emulator?

Yeah, it's upscaled using an emulator. I only really play on this resolution for recordings, normally I just play on the native resolution.
