I was always confused when another dog owner would say, “my dog ran off”. As a Doberman owner that is such an odd statement, they are as you said a Velcro dog that insists on going to the bathroom with you, “what are we doing now, oh taking a shower, is there room for two”, that’s the mentality of a Doberman. So it’s strange when I hear a dog owner say , ‘I just call for King and he will come”. I don’t need call my dog she never leaves my side...... sure on walks (no leash) she goes 40-50 yds circles back every 15-20 seconds. I couldn’t run away from her if I tried. Love ❤️ my dog.

I have a imported european female Doberman. She is incredible in every way! Yes definitely my girl, she is not bothered with anyone else,lol. She is very intelligent, protective and loving! A great friend...
I got a girl because of the supposed “maturity”, she’s the craziest dog I’ve ever owned, goes after everything & everyone, shoes, feet, legs, clothes, hair. The complete opposite of what people say about female dobermans. I got two boys in one female. Not even my boxer male behaved this way. It’s insane, might as well have gotten a male
@@dobermanlife5196 Shes now 4 months, but she’s been behaving like this since we got her at 2 months. Definitely getting better as she gets older but man oh man, it’s been one tough ride.
I have an 11 month old, fawn, female that’s half European half American and she is exactly as you described. I’ve haven’t had a male Doberman yet to compare but I’m very pleased with my female as well.
I heard females are more likely to prefer one person more than males.. from couple other vids i saw, males tend to like everybody in the house equally as females gravitate to one person more
I have a male and female. My female absolutely loves me and would spend every minute next to me. My boy on the other hand does his own thing. It's hard to adjust to that.
Mine is at 1 one and constantly move around and pretty hyper. I hope she eventually calm down. She does like to play with her toys but doesn't chew on stuff anymore.
My husband and i are thinking about getting a doberman but he wants a boy but I'm trying to convince him with videos like this so we can get a girl. I hope he changes his mind.

Doberman Planet would disagree with you on the female taking to multiple people and male only one. In my experience the males imprint on the whole family (pack) and the female has always picked just one person in the family (pack). Again that's just my experience, not saying that is how all Dobermans are.
I go back to this being my personal experience, especially since we mostly have girl Dobermans. Regardless I do believe dobermans are the BEST breed, so as long as we both agree on that one, I hope we’re good 😂 Thanks for watching and commenting!
I slowly started giving more space to my pup as she got older, at first we would just leave her in one room for not a long time (especially since during covid we are always home). Whenever we leave we try not to make it a big deal, make it seem like we won’t be gone long, she will usually just sleep on the couch till we get back (as far as I know) 😂
what about being in tune with owner emotions? is that correct that females can more easily "read" teir owner fellings and emotions than males? (I understand that all doberman dogs are very in tune with human emotions, but females are even more?
Agree to disagree. The points you mentioned are correct on American Dobermanns. The European Dobermann have much more different characters. I'd rather have a female and male Dobermann. Then only a male or female Dobermann
The best thing I’ve seen is is having their beds/spaces separate from each other but that could just be ours, some like sleeping together other like their own bed lol

I have 53kg euro boy, my friend has his sister, and id neeever switch. Ever. Hes so good with my son, always feels my anxiety crawling up, hes crazy smart, a bit snobbish and guards the family like the zombie apocalypse is about to break out, but he has no aggresion at all.
I wouldn't say they're sharper or look better in anyway except males are bigger. I've had both and 3 in my life, 2 females and 1 male. And have another female coming next month. But of the 3 i've had so far, the black female looked the best and then the brown male. But both came from a top breeder and were european Dobes. My first one was a backyard bred so quality wasn't as good.

Quite possibly! This is just based off our Dobermans and we do have more females than males!

My Aries is now coming close to 3 years, time has gone so fast since then!
I have a 2 month old female European Dobie and she behaves like a male (she's in her biting and nipping stage tho so I think that's also a factor)
