I don’t even own one and somehow I knew this. BMW puts the SAP in the same spot every time 😂

Hello. Cool conversion. I'm going from a magnesium valve cover to the updated plastic. Problem, my pcv breather hose doesn't fit on the connector on the plastic valve cover. Is there a different hose for the plastic valve cover?

@Shiba General - The best way to do it in my opinion would be to get a rubber hose of the correct diameter replace the factory hose.
Otherwise, you can get a very short length of hose to use as an adapter. Check out my DISA video on my 5-Series to see what I mean about that.

@@shibasalute Wait. Are you removing the CCV unit? If so, there is a P/N that you can find on the Real OEM website that goes directly from the valve cover to the intake manifold since the CCV is integrated into the plastic valve cover. It’s a Y shaped hose.

@@Casey_Schmidt I was removing the breather hose from the valve cover. It looks like a straight hose with two connectors, one going to valve cover, the other to the manifold. The breather hose connects to the magnesium valve cover, but its not fitting on the plastic valve cover. Is it possible to send you some pictures to you?

Tell me please... The first generation N52 engine (magnesium cover) is a better option than second generation N52? Thank you!

@Stefan Gragu - Great question! From what I understand, the revised version of the N52 with the plastic valve cover is the “better” engine. It implemented several small yet important changes that allowed it to be more reliable along with getting better efficiency and performance. Forgive me that I don’t remember all of those differences off the top of my head. The two biggest changes were the valve cover (magnesium to plastic) and the CCV (external to integrated into the valve cover). But smaller changes were made to the Valvetronic motor, camshafts, intake, etc. Again, small changes but they all add up. The downside is that the revised version lost the magnesium valve cover.

@@Foreignsgarage444 yeah I did. Best thing I did not having to worry about dumb plastic cover. He covered everything very well in this series. I did similar but used a UPR billet check valve off valve cover going to catch can. Works great.

@@boostabearwow finally someone else in the bmw community who knows the words “upr” 🤭
So I’m trying to repair my friends poorly swapped magnesium valve cover job and noticed you said upr. On my personal 94m3 I’m using the upr catch can that’s a single inlet with dual outlets. Btw I’ve been searching for the best oil catch can for the last two years and I settled on the upr cans since it is the only can that actually traps and separated the oil and the only can that actually does what is advertised!!!! My engine produces a lot of blow by due to a spark plug shattering inside clyinder 4 because of a fake bosch injector staying stuck open that was purchased from bUmmerworld listed as the “remanufactured 24lb Bosch” long story short careful with retailers and upr rocks! Anyone reading this should jump on it and not hesitate. I tried many differnt big name brands and even the radium can wasnt as good as the upr 😄
